This worked in Minneapolis after three nights of out of control riots, looting and arson.

I've seen a bunch of reporting on resisting arrest and his other legal troubles, but nothing on if there was a sidearm or other weapon in the car.
I don't think that's necassarily relevant to the shoot, because as an officer it's not really something you want to wait on. I'm only asking because if anything could completely hammer the silliness of "shot him in the back" is if he had a gun or knife in the car.

Neither. Both are niche and discard three of the AR's relative benefits. Shootability, proven dependability, and ubiquitous parts/supply/feeding options.
Go with a proven bolt action for longer range, such as the Precision rifle platforms out lately or just a good hunting rifle, ammo for practice, and decent optics for what an AR in 30.06 or 300 WinMag would run.
That is, if it were my money.

A fuel tanker ended up smashing into a house, after hitting some cars, spilling 7,500 gallons of diesel into a residential neighborhood.
They evacuated the neighborhood, cleanup crews dammed the creeks the Karens lamented the fate of the ducks on NextDoor etc.
Turns out what happened, a "naked man" stole a truck from KwikTrip and smashed it through a fence, a KwikTrip delivery driver stopped to see what's up, and Naked Man hopped in and stole the tanker. Police saw him "pumping his fist" and blowing through stop lights on residential streets at 70 mph.
It looks like the guy's house that was hit is totaled. They had to extricate naked man from the tanker truck, which had rolled.
Here's the thing though. There is no longer any mention of the incident in the online newspapers. Like It Never Happened.
Who did this? Has he been arrested? Not a peep from KwilTrip or anything. I'm not part of the gossip club, so I'm not privy to what happened, but clearly there is Something That Doesn't Fit The Narrative on this one.

Seeing cool things about the 6mm ARC. Light and handy in an AR-15 sized platform, better ballistics than the 6.5 Grendel.

Those are still slow if you have reams and reams to destroy. I've done a lot of burn exercises, and it can take hours to days to eliminate all the files in an embassy/consulate, even with a good incinerator.
Or they didn't have one, and didn't practice burns and panicked.

Suspicions:
1) There was a reason he ignored the police commands & tried to get behind the wheel of the vehicle. That's how most police chases begin-- warrants.
2) I've seen people tazed, as part of a training program. There're youtubes of police volunteers being tazed at police academies, btw. I posit you can't get tazed TWICE & just carry on with what you were doing... without pharmaceutical assistance. The fact that Blake was tazed twice, before he was shot, suggests to me that the cops were trying NOT to shoot him.
Now, it's early on, & these are reports, not proven facts. I don't want to jump in & prejudge this incident like Gov. Evers did.

The real point is - this virus is a serious risk for a tiny, easily-defined segment of the population, and (separate issue) appears to be limited by heterogeneous resistance profiles in the population to a low threshold, maybe as low as 20%.
Both these fundamental factors make vaccine a pretty pointless exercise.

There's also numerous police reports where tasers don't fully operate as they are supposed to, i.e., don't deliver a full "charge".
Which makes them less than useful. And after the taser, lethal force is the only option left.
