The Morning Report - 8/24/20

huflungbiden.jpg

Good morning kids. The start of a new week and the Republican National Convention kicks off tonight. Meanwhile the beat goes on across the usual fronts, including a fresh conflagration in Kenosha, WI after a policeman allegedly shot a black man in the back during the course of a call about domestic violence. All things considered, the incident happened in a Democrat-controlled city by officers who are part of and trained by a Democrat-run department and Democrat-controlled city administration. Despite the fact that incidents like this are rare to the point of being statistically insignificant - especially when one considers the numbers of black-on-black and black-on-white shootings - the Democrat-Media Complex starts a prairie fire from a single spark (to paraphrase a rather toxic quotation).

In this case, we already have a conflagration engulfing the American body politic thanks to the incident in Minneapolis this past May. The epicenter remains Portland where the city administration has either lost control or willingly surrendered it to semi-organized cadres of domestic terrorists, whose ultimate goal is the overthrow of the United States. For now, they have turned a fairly good-sized chunk of downtown into Beirut on the Willamette. Along with Molotov cocktails and fists (more than likely low-T man-baby sucker-punching fairy fists gripping a set of brass knuckles), they are now hurling feces-filled balloons at the police. No doubt the irony of "flinging poo" is lost on these droogs, but considering what the Democrat-Media Complex has done to President Trump and all of us, it's just perfectly encapsulates who and what they are.

There were incidents in Denver and Charlotte as well, but in Seattle, idiot mayor Jenny Durkan vetoed the city council's near unanimous vote to defund the police department. I assume she'll be run out on a rail by the goons whether or not the council can override her veto. Back in Portland the terrorists got into it with counter-protesters at a "Back the Blue" rally and it turned into a melee. At this point, with law enforcement either willingly or forced to backed down by Democrat politicians who are refusing to crack down with overwhelming force, it is incumbent on the citizenry, alone or in groups, to defend themselves and their right to peaceful assembly. Or just to walk down a street to go about their business. When you no longer have that, you no longer have a society or a country.

* * * * *

Some big news on the Chinese Lung AIDS phony pandemic panic:

The Food and Drug Administration on Sunday issued an "emergency use authorization" for transfusions into [Chinese] COVID-19 patients of plasma donated by those who have recovered from the disease, citing data showing a "significant" -- up to 35 percent in some cases -- reduction in mortality rates.

Americans who have recovered from the disease caused by the coronavirus that emerged in Wuhan late last year are being urged to donate plasma, the liquid component of blood, for injection into [Chinese] COVID-19 patients...

[HHS Secretary Alex] Azar said that number should not be glossed over.

"We dream in drug development of something like a 35 percent mortality reduction," he said. "This is a major advance in the treatment of patients. It's a major advance."

Hahn said that the "convalescent plasma" of donors recovering from an infection has been used to treat others with the same disease for more than 100 years.

Under the evaluation launched in April, almost 100,000 Americans had enrolled to receive the treatment, and 70,000 had already received it, in "one of the largest expanded access programs in the history of FDA."

Meanwhile, the Joe Biden sockpuppet is promising that if he's installed in office, he'll lock the entire country down on day one, to save us from a virus that is marginally more lethal than seasonal flu, and with the peak point of infection and danger occurring probably four months ago. But, never let a crisis go to waste, even like hate crimes, if you have to invent them.

The parallels between 1918 and 2020 are extreme. The mass isolation and quarantine had no effect on 2019-nCoV and ruined our economy. The mass quarantine of the most vulnerable into nursing homes and the use of mechanical ventilators with their high occurrence of ventilator-associated pneumonia (1.5% per day) led to over 60% of the deaths, otherwise 2019-nCoV is far from the mass murderer it was hyped to be. Why quarantine and intubation? Medicare cut reimbursement for non-invasive ventilators, and Congress rewarded the use of ventilators on (presumed) COVID patients and their deaths. Socialist medicine transforms doctors into highly paid executioners of the elderly, weak, and infirm.

You say these were just mistakes of science and implementation? Under "ideal" socialism, the restriction of liberty is still valid? Perhaps mistakes, but an argument over science trumping liberty is a red herring. Lives versus lives is part of the Game of Socialism, which ignores the possibility that liberty is necessary for the public good -- rather, dismisses it.

Social media trolling and unethical reporting exaggerated a cold into a plague, and socialist health and safety advocates panicked the world into surrendering liberty and implementing socialism. All of the damage attributed to COVID-19 was instead caused by the socialism meant to protect us. COVID-19 is a pandemic of socialism.

By the way, I wasn't kidding about the fake hate crime. See the link here and in the Democrat Chutzpocrisy section.

Elsewhere, Kellyanne Conway has announced she is leaving the White House to spend more time with family. This time, it may be true considering the friction in the household. And speaking of friction, George Conway's thighs will emit sparks as he leaves the Lincoln Project to spend more time with pastrami.

As for the RNC, in the wake of the abject disaster that was the Democrat convention, there was no expected "bounce" for Biden, and the words of Mark Meadows defines the moment, stating that Trump "accomplished more in his first 100 days than Joe Biden did in the last 40 years." Boom. Not only does that statement define both candidates, it defines how our government operated for at least the past 50 years if not longer, and the struggle to stop that insanity and restore power back to the people.

Anyway, there are other major things breaking that no doubt you'll see in the links as you peruse them. And if you are in the path of those hurricanes, please stay safe and if ordered to evacuate, get the hell out and get to safety.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

18 Willowed

You and Rev should have at least two "semi auto" weapons within reach at all times. Why else did you sell your cloaks?

I was thinking on my morning walk about how much God loves us Episode #48272.

As a fan of Christian apologetics, the idea that God is our source of morality is often mocked by the scoffers in that they believe that morality comes naturally, that it is self-evident, thus the transcendent origins of morality is allegedly debunked.

So here we are today with the Postmoderns claiming to change the world to be a better place - by systematically tearing down all Western traditions and customs.

They have the benefit of hindsight and thousands of years of written human history to weigh what works and what doesn't work - so they have no excuse not to make the perfect moral code.

We are seeing the fruits of this new "wisdom".

Not only in the big things like burning, looting, murder, the economy and soul destroying things like "Equity" but also in the tiny things.

I was listening to Ravi Z over the weekend and he was relating a story about choices and that our humanity requires them. He told of dining in a Russian restaurant some time after the Cold War and the waitress knew enough English to ask "Do you want dessert?" To which Ravi asked "What do you have?" Answered: "Ice cream".
"What else do you have?" "Just ice cream. What flavor would you like?". They only had vanilla ice-cream. But the lesson was that even though they had no real choices the waitress understood enough that people need to have choices and thus asked him what he wanted.

Two take-aways. One is that the new morality denies us choices - or leaves us with false ones: "Social distance or wear the mask".

The other was this: Ravi apologized to his audience in advance when he was going to assume a voice inflection to represent the Russian waitress.

Which got me to thinking about how the New Morality says only gays can play gays in movies, etc. Will The New Morality also outlaw voice inflections and accents in fear of violating social appropriation laws?

The New Morality also says that Latinix is the appropriate substitute for Latino a/o Latina. So they just use Latinix without any consideration for the possibility that it is offensive to those who refer to themselves as Latino or Latina. That is, the New Morality imposes this forced artificial construction on them regardless of their own desires.

This is yet another proof that God exists, because His Law and his moral code has survived for millennia across all cultures, and when man decides to make his own, even with thousands of years of human history, ends up making a gigantic, soul-destroying, destructive, violent arbitrary, irrational and cruel code of values.

20 Willowed from the last: I wrote that the witness video of the Kenosha shooting shows the guy loping around his car, clearly ignoring the cops who had their weapons trained on him. He reaches into his car and they shoot. Originally I thought a small black object on the ground fell out during the shooting, and surmised it might have been his gun. But rewatching the vid, I see that object was on the ground even before he rounded the car. Probably not a gun, then.

He still might have been reaching for a weapon inside the car. Couldn't be arsed to follow instructions, win stupid prizes.

I didn't know they'd done that, but it makes sense now why so many doctors kept putting virus patients on vents even after it started becoming clear that doing that made things much worse.

52 An observation from Facebook. I don't go on much, but I scrolled down my feed a bit yesterday and saw two political posts.

The first was from a musician friend going nuts about the postal office. I think it was something about how the game was up because someone in the Trump administration had said something good about absentee ballotting which meant that they were against mail in voting out of mere spite. He's not the brightest bulb.

The second was from a guy who works government contracts and the husband of a friend of mine. He's already playing defensive saying that anytime anyone brings up Biden's "supposed mental decline" just remind them of "covfefe". So, it's obviously jokey, but his first defensive place is an old misspelled tweet instead of the visual evidence of Biden stumbling over himself trying to reclaim thoughts.

The campaign just started for real, and the left's two big things seem to be "the post office!" and "If you think Biden's bad, just remember that one tweet from Trump." Not even COVID there, which was interesting from my tiny sample. Hell he could have brought in COVID in the mental decline thing, but he didn't.

They have conspiracy theories and playing a prevent defense.

67 Mentioned in the ONT, but I just read that the worldwide death total is now 800,000.

Worldwide.

For perspective, if it was 800K dead only in the US that would still just be 0.25 of 1% of the total US population. One quarter of one percent. 99.75% of us wouldn't be dead.

Out of the entire world it's 0.01% of the total population. Literally 99.99% of the world hasn't died from the worst pandemic ever known.

And it seems obvious from 2016 that some places like Pennsylvania have learned the tricks of the blue enclaves in the states and will work to prevent them from knowing how many ballot are needed to cheat.

Democrats want a brand new cheating apparatus because they know the old one isn't going to work.

It is not entirely out of the question that she has an income stream from her social media that a teenager might consider enough.

However, perhaps more to the point, C. Conway has made the claim that she is not seeking emancipation because of her mother's job, but because of "years of abuse." If this is the path she is pursuing, she's looking at the foster system, not emancipation. For young Ms. Conway, that is a pathway to trafficking and abuse, not FREEDOM!!!

No one knows what goes on behind closed doors, but no doubt C. Conway counts things such as high expectations and cutting off phones and social media as abuse (ask me how I know this about today's teens). But she also knows that the accusation is enough.

I pray that the Conways are able to heal.

To understand how groups will react to this stuff, you have to assume the worst in people. Not the best, the worst. And that's really all there is to it - but that's a tough thing for people to do here. Here, there's a pretty vocal group that pushes optimism and everything will work out, twenty four seven three sixty five.

But the thing is - things rarely ever work out, on the grand scale. They've worked out for us, in our short little lifetimes, and they REALLY worked out for the couple of generations before us. But an even casual reading of history shows that, no, things don't often work out. We live in exceptional times, but nothing says those times have to continue, and quite a bit of evidence points to times like these always coming to an end.

Maybe, in the macro sense, man just exists to suffer. Maybe that's the way we like it, even if we don't know it.

Nah.

I'm not going to call for peace.
We've tried peace.
For years.

Y'all don't understand that language.

We are calling for a complete dismantling of American policing.

It was built to work this way.

And mayhem is the consequence.

You know, last week was the perfect opportunity for Democrats to moderate the image of the party and call out the violence as bad for blacks and bad for America.

But they didn't do it, handing the issue over to Republicans on a silver platter.

And the activist left feels emboldened to go further, so it's just going to get worse in blue enclaves, and the Democratic Party took it's most viewed moment of 2020 to do nothing about it at all one way or another.

Sure, Kamala could have been brought to the ticket for a law and order angle, but they're not taking it. They're tanking this election on purpose. It's hard to see it any other way.

I agree, but I think it's about to run out of gas. There's no clearly defined goal, and no meaningful yardstick by which to measure progress toward that goal. At least the Vietnam War protesters could claim an identifiable, unambiguous desired end-state--"defund the police" simply isn't a firm goal that's going to be achieved. This is just aimless bitchery. I'd be surprised if people hadn't gotten too bored to turn up for it in three months.

I think there's a lot of blame to go around here. My wife and I successfully balanced work and family to produce two daughters that are reasonably happy and successful. I guess you could say we won a genetic lottery in that neither of them had severe "issues", although I worried about one of them until she called me up one day and told me she was seeing a counselor who helped her with coping methods. That provided a large amount of relief because, as I told her at the time, she was beyond the age that I could make her do it and I was glad she figured it out on her own.

I expect Vance to indict the President himself this fall too, so buckle up. The charges will center on whether or not the Trump Organization properly deducted the payments made to women on state tax returns. It'll be the first time in history a tax deduction of legal bills is criminalized, essentially compensating a lawyer for making what could be argued as being blackmail payments.

159 But the thing is - things rarely ever work out, on the grand scale.

Posted by: Counting The Days at August 24, 2020 08:21 AM

The scary thing is... things didn't just "work out" for all of us and generations past.

A LOT of hard work and sacrifice and effort and ingenuity and invention went into getting things to "work out".

Just look at the history of the world of the past 100 years. Just look at all it took to win WWII. The invention of radar, the entire population of the United States uniting overseas and here at home to fight a war (ie industries shutting down and converting to manufacturing for supplies for the war effort).

And that does not even go into any details of all the times we were on the brink of losing WWII and overcame by the thinnest of margins to win battles due to strategy and effort and sometimes luck.

Think of the Carter years and recovering from that. I watched a Modern Marvels episode recently about the Alaskan Pipeline and how it was held up for about almost a decade by environazis. It was only finally allowed to go forward when the oil crisis and gas shortages of the 70s happened and Americans demanded more oil/gas.

There are things like this all throughout our lifetimes. Crises that were overcome through hard work, dedication, sacrifice and American ingenuity and desire to build and improve and make things better.

Today's millennial generation and generation Z just have no idea how lucky they are to have been born into such exceptional and comfortable times.

They have such little perspective of how good we have it and how much effort and sacrifice it took to make things this way that they are destroying it and throwing it all away.

It's despicable.

I'd disagree on a very subtle, yet important point. Sure, there was hard work involved. But we've lived in the most golden of ages. One where we had the opportunity to benefit from our own work - rather than owing it to a lady or lord. 207 187 The scary thing is... things didn't just "work out" for all of us and generations past. A LOT of hard work and sacrifice and effort and ingenuity and invention went into getting things to "work out".

I'd disagree on a very subtle, yet important point. Sure, there was hard work involved. But we've lived in the most golden of ages. One where we had the opportunity to benefit from our own work - rather than owing it to a lady or lord. Even today, as overly taxed as we are, we still keep more of our own labor than what we give to the state.
That's going away. The irony is, we're doing it to ourselves. Like I said - maybe man just exists to suffer.

This brings to mind the famous line (ad libbed, not in the script IIRC) by Orson Welles as his character in the film "The Third Man:"

Maybe ammunition subsidies, and a voucher for a small firearm safe, to allow proper storage in situations where children are present.

This case was brought for show and its getting teenage girl squeals of glee from the prepubescents that run the Biden campaign.

If Bannon has a good legal team, this gets plead down to nothing after the election or just dropped all together since it looks like it was incompetently stitched together on vague, sloppy, and over-general allegations just to get a quickie indictment. The charge letter reads so vaguely you'd be forgiven if you had to read it twice to make sure there was anything in there approaching a crime.

After Trump won the 2016 election Obama told his Intel community to prepare a new ICA. They did it in 3 weeks which is lightning speed by government standards.

There was a big dispute when the report was being put together between the FBI, Comey and McCabe, and Brennan, Clapper. The former wanted the Steele dossier in the ICA, the latter were very opposed. The FBI won and it was included in the appendix.

Why didn't Brennan want it in the ICA given it was central to spying on the Trump campaign? Why did Comey and McCabe insist it be included when they knew it was fake? Who knew what when?

It was cute, in a "Geez, what planet do you people live on" kind of way, when a few folks here that surely will never admit to it now, were running around telling us all that we just have to give in on this mask thing. This was simply not the hill to die on.

They still don't understand the enemy - and at this point, it's got to be willful ignorance. The Left never stops. The fight never ends. Whenever you give them something, all you've done is establish a new line of scrimmage in the never ending struggle for dominance.

One side goes to bed each night, hoping the fight will just stop for a bit. The other can't wait to get up in the morning, eager to see what new battle awaits.

And even then, it is two person security required to break the seal on the ballot box.

As someone here once explained so well, in every other methinking, including absentee voting, the other first provides information to prove their identity. Only then are they allowed to possess a ballot.

I've got to tell you: I know it may produce much whining these days, but NO WAY I would allow any child of mine (at least while living under my roof) to have any social media accounts. Also -- other computer, TV, and entertainment would be restricted to some degree as well.

We have some new neighbors (a rural area) and it's a real joy to see their children playing outdoors most days. They're clearly being home-schooled and raised with this philosophy, which will bode well for them later in life.

People are shocked, shocked, that Melania put rose bushes in the Rose Garden.

But the trees! They cut down the trees! No, the trees have been relocated elsewhere on the grounds. Roses need sunlight.

Oh, and this will actually save taxpayer money because the gardeners won't need to be changing the contents of the flower beds several times a year. For example, those tulips that looked lovely in late March and early April got dug up soon after.

It was a good, informative show. But this brings up a point.

My mom, after finally listening to me circa 4 years ago about not watching the MFM 'nightly news' broadcasts as misinformation at best, switched to Fox News.

And as early as a couple of years ago, warned her that FN was also becoming a misinformation shithole (as Trump has noted).

She righteously complained Where can I get reliable news (she doesn't internet at all)?

And I told her besides me, it's the opinion people at Fox. They, right now, are toting the load. Tucker, Levin, Jeannine, Waters, Hannity -- They are reporting the facts that no other personalities on ALL the "news" are covering.

C. Herridge at CBS is trying to as well, I shouldn't ignore her. Other than that, it's a fucking wasteland out there.

Polls reflect that Trump is losing support among seniors. I directly attribute that to the MFM.

Posted by: Thomas Bender at August 24, 2020 08:48 AM

Not only that, but there is no background check, verification or validation process for running for political office either.

Think about it... had Barack Obama applied to work for any government position, he would have been eliminated from consideration based on a simple background check of his radical connections.

Yet, he can run for local office in IL, for Senate and for President of the United States.

The only thing keeping radicals -- ie Obama, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, etc. -- out of office is We, the People, rejecting their radicalism and not voting for them. But if we don't know about it -- ie the media hides the information, as they usually do -- the people won't reject them.

I don't know if the Founders even thought that we would be destroyed from within by the media selectively informing the public about radicals in our midst and actively helping them to get elected.

Was reading here over the weekend about how the government scientists had predicted a few years back that all the glaciers in Glacier Nat'l Park would be completely gone by 2020, because that's what their computer models showed. It's obviously now 2020, and yet remarkably, the glaciers are still there.

But yeah, let's stake our economy and our lives on the predictions of scientific "experts." What could possibly go wrong?

we spent/used up an equal amt of "money"/resources on every single person in the US - that's a MASSIVE waste when we KNEW the risk groups.

that socialistic decision cost LIVES in those risk groups - it should have been x for health people, 2x for obese people, 10x for geriatrics, something like that.

instead it was x for every human in the US

which meant the truly at risk were shafted 10x and the normal people were incarcerated for NO GOOD REASON, just for show.

The Republican Party is already well down the road of change.

Much of the old guard is gone, off to support the other party. The old guard largely self-purged in the hope that the party would have a large enough hole in it due to their absence that it would simply collapse, and yet it continues and thrives.

Democrats, though, still have several prominent factions (I tend to lump them into two, The Establishment and the Activist Left, but the reality is that there's at least three major factions if not four) that are fighting over the same party under the same tent. That's a much more dynamic and dangerous position to be in.

The whole situation right now seems to me like "If we can't govern then we will make the country ungovernable".

You might be right about the 2 party system but I think it's interesting to note that Trump isn't changing the Republican party so much as attracting new voters to the party by working hard to show that if mostly conservative policies are implemented it helps them.

Yea, he's made some changes around the edges to traditional conservative positions (which largely didn't win) but more than anything he is not writing off groups that Republicans traditionally have.

379 HCQ: A Morality Tale

Really long article, but the TLDR is.

We live in a culture that has uncritically accepted that every domain of life is political, that all human enterprises are merely power struggles, that even the idea of truth is a fantasy and a matter of imposing one's view on others. Some held out hope that science remained an exception to this. That scientists would not bring their political biases into their science, and would not be mobbed if what they said was unwelcome to one faction or another. But the sordid 2020 drama of hydroxychloroquine has killed those hopes.

If this is the virus so catchy that it waits on any surface for hours or days, just trying to leap into your bloodstream, we'd all have to walk around like Jackie Gleason in Cannonball Run - with a toilet paper streamer dragging behind each and every one of us stuck to our shoe.

408 303 So, the commies finally put enough pressure on to get rid of the most effective WH press secretary in recorded history, huh ?

Wow, are you serious? That's very disturbing, to say the least. There will be destroyed ballots by postal workers who don't like the selections they will easily see. There is zero... zero... security there. Zero integrity in the vote you've cast via your postcard. No way to know if it's been received, tabulated and counted. No way to know if it's been destroyed. Or lost, conveniently or otherwise. It's the perfect way for democraps to cheat, which of course is why they're all screaming for it. Unbelievable.

Michigan SOS Benson to mail millions of postcards to encourage absentee voting

https://bit.ly/34uJO2O

Michigan is sending postcards to more than 4 million registered voters, encouraging them to apply to vote absentee in the November election. The state also plans to spend millions in order to reimburse local cities that offer pre-paid return envelopes for absentee ballots.

The moves are the latest by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson to advocate for casting a ballot before Election Day, an initiative aimed at increasing voter participation while preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

410 So how does this work in the real world?

If Trump were to walk to the podium and say 'I trust my Generals to set America's foreign and defense policies", the Left would rightly explode.

Yet Biden tells America that he will allow his scientists to set the nations economic and health policy, and everyone says...'See this is leadership'?

411 Gone are the days when this type of behavior would result in the parents packing her shit up and dropping her off at a boarding school hundreds of miles from nowhere, with no TV, no Internet, no phone, no nothing.

414 Yes conservative cowards have allowed negros an identity but will never allow White people one. This why conservatives are so useless; you all believe denouncing racism will be helpful. Instead it is just a red cape waved in front of the Left's bull. I understand trying once or twice but how many millions attempts will you make before you take your own side?

415 Roth played this perfectly. He took out all those who helped Trump win in 2016. But wait, what sorrow from Sicily?
