"This is Fear:" Bill Kristol Desperately Brainstorming Ideas for Getting Biden Out of Debates

I like how he portrays his desperate brainstorming sesh as just a stray, off-the-top-of-my-head "innocent thought:"

@BillKristol

Just an innocent thought: We've seen Biden in office for over four decades, and we've seen Trump nonstop for the last four years. We've seen enough to make up our minds about them. So let’s skip the presidential debates but have three vice-presidential debates.

Just an innocent thought: Based on his extraordinary change of personality and addiction to twitter, I think Bill Kristol knows well the symptoms of an old weak man whose brains are turning to garbage.

Just another innocent thought: He sees the same symptoms in Biden, only more advanced.

And still this corrupt nepot, grifter, and egotist pushes a demented man for president.

16 The whole reason why they wanted a "woman of color" for Biden's running mate wasn't to shore up the D. ticket. They're planning on pulling Biden off the ticket after the first debate in favor of Kamilla, because the only way they can possibly win is by putting a "historic female canidate of color" at the head of the ticket to try and pull in votes that way.

Sure, the die-hard Republicans will marvel at Pence's poise and wonder how anyone thinks the general public would fall for her drivel. Yet they will. It'll be worse than Biden vs. Ryan.

The neverTrump movement has had three and a half years in which to bear fruit. What has been the result?

NeverTrump candidates are awful. NeverTrump prognostication is egregious. And as for NeverTrump policy ideas? Not a one.

Lest I tar with too broad a brush -- i still read everything I can find from Kevin Williamson. Jonah, not so much, but I honor him for some very good past thought. Mitt Romney would be better in some cabinet or statewide role. That is where he has racked up solid wins.

But the NeverTrump movement as a whole? Not worth the energy it takes to ridicule them.

NeverTrump is a ideological dead end. It should have been recognized as such from the start -- from the word "Never" in the label. It belongs on the scrap heap of political philosophy, along with Marxism, the OWS movement, and the BLM movement.

One of my favorites was and is, Joseph Epstein (no relation to youknowwho). Some of the politics people became fellow travelers with the nevertrumpers, but by that time I was long gone.

Kristol and Freddy "The Beetle" Barnes... you knew what they were going to write before they wrote it, so what was the point of reading their stuff. Seemed at times like vanity, to even give them a prominent place in the magazine. Skip past it, and get to the "good" stuff.

Friend,

I worry about what will happen if Hillary Clinton is elected president.

Her scandals should disqualify her from ever holding a political office -- yet Democrats want to elect her to the highest office in the land.

Imagine the poisonous trickle-down effect it would have on our democracy if she is elected.

A Hillary Clinton win, in essence, would be granting her a free pass for her illegal and corrupt behavior.

The situation would be even worse if we fail to protect our House majority. Imagine how bad it would be if Hillary Clinton came into office with Speaker Nancy Pelosi...

And with only 76 days remaining until the election, we're at a serious disadvantage.

Will you stand with me and make an emergency donation to fight back against Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi?

I think we need special election rules this year:

213 Really, he's pushing Kamala for POTUS -- because nothing says "conservative" like a person who hates the US Constitution such that she openly advocates for (1) getting rid of the presumption of innocence (Kavanaugh); (2) getting rid of the 2nd Amendment via Executive Order; and (3) rounding up your political opponents to destroy them (yes, she actually said that after defeating Trump it would be time to round up all his supporters to get them because 'they betrayed us.')

Kamala is and has always been the Obama/Valarie Jarrett/DNC choice -- don't you remember how she was hailed at the beginning of the Dem primaries? They didn't count on the fact that once people got to know her better they would reject her so resoundingly that she would be forced to drop out BEFORE Iowa.

That's when the came up with Plan B -- force all the other candidates to drop out and endorse Biden, so that he could get the nomination without having to actually debate/campaign for it, install Kamala as his VP, and get her in the oval office within a year.

That sounds like a conspiracy theory -- but it's a fact.

oh puh-lease. Go back and re-watch the Tulsi-Kamala exchange at the Dem debates. Pence studies that tape intensely, he goes out and says every line that Tulsi said. Kamala never had an answer for any of it, and it wrecked her campaign.
Posted by: Tom Servo at August 12, 2020 02:11 PM (Kpl3J)

Agree.

Pence v. Kamala would be interesting, actually. I'm still not 100% Pence, but his performance during the COVID Task Force news conferences was impressive. When he was on the Sunday talk shows, he was able to push back on a lot of the nonsense thrown at him fairly well also, and he kept on-message as well.

Not sure that he would have the killer instinct to destroy Kamala (he had a more 'sorrow than anger' response to Buttigieg's calumnies against him as Governor), but I think that his basic decency is a nice counterpoint to the attack-dog that Kamala would have to bring to the table.

On top of that, all Pence needs to do his tout his executive experience. As governor and VP, he has far more of it than Kamala (which is nonexistent).

Trump hit Hillary right between the eyes and she didn't expect it - he won each debate on points even though he didn't always have his facts straight and sometimes wandered. If it's close, the public always goes with the more aggressive candidate.

Americans love a fighter and they don't mind a nasty one. That's the edge Harris has. But there is good news for Pence - he works for one of the best at this game. If Pence can practice against Trump until he just holds his own, he'll do fine against Harris.

But that's a big if. You're asking Pence to go against his nature. That's tough for anyone to do.

This.

There's also the wildcard Kanye.
I don't think he'll confront her much, but he gets in the way of the MSM's narrative re: Kamala being the voice/candidate for blacks. And he's openly Christian, too.

On on side you have defender of Planned Parenthood and sex-is-career-empowering Kamala, and on the other you have not just Pence (the Left's caricature of an old, white Chtian dude), but a famous hip-hop celebrity who is talking about spiritual/cultural values in a way that no one else is. In particular, Kanye's recent remarks on abortion - not just being distraught over considering aborting his own kid, but about how the abortion is destroying the black community.

That's a tough one for Kamala and her supporters to triangulate.

Interesting times!!

One of the biggest killshots for me was the abortion question in the 3rd debate.

Hillary was asked about late-term abortion and she launched into her scripted PP response that went on for 3 or so minutes about 'I've talked to families, and it's a hard decision, and it needs to be between a woman and her doctor blah blah blah'.

Then Trump: "Killing a baby as it's being delivered? It's not right. It's just not right."

Trump won, and typically wins, when he sticks with reacting how a normal person reacts vs. and carefully worded, poll-tested response.

THIS is why Biden can't debate him -- even if they've working w/the moderator to script his answers, they have no idea what Trump will say.

===

The Republican Party has effectively run the clock out on PDT's first term. It is only a slight exaggeration to say that they blocked everything but the tax cut. They organized a mass resignation with loud PDT protests to hand the House over to the Dems to use against PDT.

They were and are in on the coup. They are blocking investigation of the coup. They are working against PDT's reelection. They will play along, if they fail to elect Biden, with a two-year minimum uproar after PDT's reelection and "honestly" "concede" that PDT has no mandate. They will insist that it is unAmerican for PDT to do anything his eighth year because "we" should await a mandate from the next election.

NeverTrump is winning.

In 2024 they will go all out to return you to the "least of evils" mantras, and expect you to support their candidate.

I don't trust the damn polls either. I trust the anecdata around me. My anecdata says Trump has lost no support, and gained some over 2016. My anecdata says working blacks are less than amused with the DNC right now.

What I'm seeing is both the GOP and DNC tanking. Trump is simply not seen as part of the GOP. He is an entity unto his own. If he formed a third party after leaving office - I think it would take off.

Houston, Dallas, and Austin account for most of that.

That could change if a Dem ended up winning something important.

471 I'm here.
Don't have timie to see what everyone's talking about but have to report my first serious run in with a Karen
I am the only person swimming in the pool when another woman comes into the pool area. She is pretty fat and all covered up but proceeds to set up a chair and takes stuff off to reveal a little bikini on her fat white body. Never gets in the pool.
I had been chatting with the lifeguard who is a young black college kid before she arrived and as I got up to leave, started a conversation about the construction cranes that were all around the roof top pool. Neither of us have a mask on. Neither does she and she is all the way at the other end of the pool. All of a sudden, he looks at me and says she just took our picture obviously to report us to the management. I put on my mask and left and the lifeguard walked out muttering he hoped the rest of the day went better.
What is wrong with these people?

So yeah, I hope they're planning every possible contingency. At this point they're likely to do anything, and everything we've been seeing seems like dry runs for November 4.

I still believe that the COVID-19 stuff has all been a test to real-life war-game -- as opposed to the virtual wargaming at Event 201 -- how much they could get away with before the American public revolted.

Sadly, 5 months in, still no revolt.

So yeah, I think everything is on the table for the Left with regards to getting rid of Trump in November. And the "siege" and man shot during the presser and now the shot taken at the helicopter are all part of the recon work being done for some bigger plan.

And, like you, I hope the President's security are doing everything they can to plan for all contingencies for his protection from now through at least January 2025. Because the Left is clearly taking the "by all means necessary" mantra seriously now.

If they will deliberately crash the economy and murder thousands of Americans in nursing homes, while inciting multiple domestic terrorist groups antifa and Burn-Loot-Murder, there's no telling what evil they have planned next.

Scary times.
