Usually agree with you Jack. But they went along. As a person signing a FISA app, for a candidate or president elect - simple competence says you should at least make sure everything is in order. I can let slide (minimally) some two bit drug dealer or suspected terrorist - on the account that I trust the "underlings."
But given the target - Carter Page and other who are part of a candidates "team" and NOT to ask any questions about anything (and he didn't because nothing he's done suggests he did) that's called willful omission. And in my book, just as serious as co-mission of a crime.

I doubt a Susan rice selection would be a result of Barr's investigation. She's highly unlikely to be indicted insofar as she was so close to the decisionmakers, and Obama himself. Shielding her from bad publicity would be an added benefit, I suppose.
But, if I had to guess a reason for it, it would be that the Obama team has struck their deal with the Biden team, and a Biden Presidency would consequently be controlled by Valerie Jarrett, rather than the other Dem factions.

The sad part is that under our form of government, every new law is a reduction of our freedom. The last thing we need is more laws. In fact, what we need is a built-in expiration date for laws, say five years. We should also make laws a tad more specific so there's no need to run to Mommy (the courts) for every minor disagreement that arises.
But even before all that, we really need politicians who understand that government should have limits on what it can and should do.

How, exactly? Are you suggesting that the DOJ should run their own separate police force to reinterview people the FBI has already interviewed and sworn under oath have given honest testimony? That's not how it works, not at the federal or even local level.
There are about a half dozen people at the FBI who have to sign off on a FISA warrant before it ever goes to the DOJ for final certification. This includes department heads and either the Deputy Director or the Director of the FBI. The job of the FBI is to do the police work necessary to obtain a warrant they claim to need and the DOJ has neither the resources nor the time to redo their investigations to certify things have been done honestly and accurately.
The whole system, like pretty much everything in life, relies on other people doing their jobs honestly and accurately, particularly in law enforcement. In this case the system broke down at a level that has never been seen before. The FBI flat out lied to the DOJ and everyone else about the sourcing for the Steele dossier but there was no way to know that at the time.
Sure, we all know it now. Hindsight is great. But whatever you think of Rosenstein or Sessions or Barr the fact is that the senior leadership of the FBI as a group were running a criminal conspiracy that included "going rogue" (Sally Yates' words) and lying to their superiors.

I agree with you. Especially about Rosenstein and Yates, as they were not authorizing the investigation an average case. They were essentially investigating the President and his advisors. Common sense says "look at this carefully". But Rosenstein authorized looking at Flynn Jr, as well, and he didn't exactly object to the highly partisan band of assistants Mueller took on.

Remember all the outrage over the Trayvon Martin shooting, where the media initially reported that an innocent little black kid had been mercilessly gunned down by a white Nazi while skipping home from the candy store?
Well here we have a 5-year old little white boy, riding his bike in his own front yard, when a black adult male neighbor calmly walks up to him and shoots him through the head (that is what a neighbor who witnessed the shooting saw).
Motive for this shooting is unclear, but the neighbor says the kid had earlier ridden his bike into the black neighbor's yard. Was that what set him off? Who knows. But there is obviously nothing in this world that justifies somebody executing a 5-year old child.
But we won't see the kind of outrage over this case that we saw in the Trayvon Martin case, which was actually not a case of an innocent kid being deliberately gunned down, despite the media's best efforts to portray it that way. Because in our brave new world, white lives don't matter.

No, its a fact. The job of the DOJ is to review a FISA warrant to make sure the necessary information has been completed and justification is there for the warrant but they do not re-investigate all the evidence. Not in this case or any other case.
That may be a hole in the system or it just could be the way virtually the entire world works but that's how the system is supposed to work.
So many people have made decisions without understanding how things work and went off track because of it, Sundance included ironically enough. Nobody has beaten the Rosenstein is in on it drum louder than he and he was wrong.

How long does it last on surfaces? Should be easy to study and spread good information about. Yet we have no idea. All we know is at gherkin beginning they said it could last 14 days on surfaces.

The Infection Fatality Rate, the "harder" number, is currently very similar to flu, overall. For 65 does it rise above average flu numbers.
And these numbers all decline over time, as more data is collected. And there's a natural pattern too. The weakest/most vulnerable die first (duh). As that cohort is "used up", the broader populace is affected, at much much lower rates of course.

Rod basically said he didn't. He trusted what had been done. There's at least some sense that as a member of a candidate or president elect, that once it gets to Rods/Yates desk, and they sign off on it - just simply believing whatever is in there is correct, then why have them sign it? It's an affidavit. I understand they can't read every single application. But there's got to be some sort of "hey, this seems serious" recognition.
And given how far the warrant can extend (second person removed from target), and given in JULY 2016 and going forward the Russian BS stories in the media, a normal person would put tow and two together to at LEAST ask a question or two. Or make a phone call.
To simply say: I'm signing this because I believe everyone below me has done their job is a cop out. Again, the two bit dealer or small terrorist I get. That's probably acceptable. A campaign aide to a presidential candidate or president elect (particularly yates and Rod's the 4 warrant signer IIRC) at that point, you at least have to be inquisitive. You can't just say when Crap hits the fan: I trusted people. This isn't "I bought a bike from a craigslist ad, how did I know it was stolen."
