3 Good Morning Morons today is Sunday, August 9, 2020. On this day in 1969 Manson cultists murdered pregnant actress Sharon Tate, coffee heiress Abigail Folger, Polish actor Wojciech Frykowski, men's hairstylist Jay Sebring and recent high-school graduate Steven Parent.

After someone's - Tex, I think - rambling confession about what happened, 2 reporters followed the streets et cetera that he said they drove around on and found blood stained clothing (iirc) that ended up being used for forensic evidence.

I'd be surprised if it's anywhere near that much. Remember last year with the Experian (IIRC) data breach where half the US population had their data stolen and you could choose from something like $100 or three years of credit monitoring by the same people who had just given all your data away?

I had read something very soon after about how so many people had filed a claim that the payment had dropped to $7 (seven).

I bet the google payout is less than $3 per claim.

He will want to divorce campaign appearances and actions separate from any official White House activities... which is a smart move.
And I'm sure getting out of DC for a while will be good for him personally as well.
But also.. maybe the hammer is about to drop on the Durham investigations. He would want DoJ to appear independent.. that would be awesome! But I hope too much of Barr..

--------------------------------------------

I started picking green tomatoes a week or so ago. The vast majority of my tomatoes get picked green and turned into green tomato relish. It's a recipe that my Mom perfected, and which I have finally managed to get nearly as good as she was able to. I had actually planned to enter a few jars in the county fair this year, but thanks to the Chinese Wheeze, the fair was canceled. Hopefully we still have a country next year, and by extension a county fair, because I think I could at least get a 2nd or 3rd with it, if not a blue ribbon.
Relish time means that it's the beginning of canning time, which signals that it's approaching the end of summertime.

The British continued to use differently-armed models of the same tank into early WW II but instead used the designator CS for Close Support.

This was because the 2 pounder gun had good armor penetration but non-existed high explosive (anti-infantry) capability. I can't remember if it was 1 per platoon or so many per company that got a 75mm howitzer to fire smoke and HE.

When the Brits finally got up-gunned tanks, the practice ended.

255 I'm gonna steal a comment from "Patrick Brown" on David Thompson's site, because it finally explains why "my pronouns" are a thing:

It used to be that aristocrats and clergy got their own special pronouns - your holiness, your grace, your highness, your majesty etc. And it used to be the left were opposed to that. Everybody should be equal, with no distinctions of rank. Everyone was to be addressed as "comrade". It wasn't just the crazy commies, the Labour Party used to call each other "comrades" at conference (until Tony Blair modified it to "colleagues"). Now, just like they've reinvented racial segregation and believing that black people are just child-like savages who not much can be expected of, they've also reinvented genuflection.

Ladies and gentlemen, the progressives.

Menard's hauled away my old appliances when I got new ones this spring. Asked them what they did with them and apparently they have a whole building out back reselling them. Might want to ask your local Lowe's or Home Depot if they do the same thing.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

The constitution provides for that. She becomes President ONLY if BOTH the President and the Vice-President become incapacitated. If the election from Nov is still in doubt the current President remains in office until it is settled.

272 Igor Kolomoisky is the Ukrainian oligarch who used to run PrivatBank through his Privat Group holdings. PrivatBank was nationalized, largely at the request of Joe Biden, right before Trump took office. It has been discovered that over $5 billion in foreign aid including aid from the US and the IMF was "missing" from the bank. Read laundered.

PrivatBank was also the controlling shareholder of Burisma when it hired Hunter Biden to sit on it's board.

Heh... no. There's a panel on the back of the fridge that should come off. The tray is on the bottom with some small hoses that feed it. On my fridge the "panel" is cardboard and comes right off. You'll probably need a flashlight to see.

They said it couldn't be cancelled unless the Trump administration jumped through all the hoops of the Administrative Procedures Act, which they had not done. Theoretically, at least, it could still be cancelled if Trump's people complied with the APA requirements, which Trump said after the ruling he was going to have them do.

When so much of the country and its core institutions are willing to misconstrue an event, it's only a matter of time. This year, an oil spill, a major power outage, or a mass murder (except in Chicago) have worked for a national upheaval.

302 The "Aliens" franchise is an extended metaphor for the Democrat party.

They are soul-less beings mindlessly and exclusively focused self-perpetuation and expansion through destruction.

They are mindless beings bent on destruction and death of all other life-forms.

They stealthily invade and hide in other life forms until they burst through, reveal themselves, and destroy the host without a thought.

They continue destroying all other life until they take over.

Republicans absolutely must retake the House.

That or nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

315 256 What is to come: 45 days after the New York Congressional election, a winner was certified. The progressive challenger does not concede. New York State officials appeal a judge's ruling in the case.

Nobody recommended for grammie's fridge that she look around the kitchen and see if she can fashion some sort of lathe? Or at least slap hot iron to it?

Difference between Calif and Midwest quakes is, long waves travel much better through the inner continental bedrock, so they affect a much greater area. So. Ill. early 1800s quake rang churchbells in Philly, awakened the Prez in the WH, and if happened today would destroy numerous cities. Esp shoreline Chicago, built on sand which would 'liquify.'

318 Regarding the Presidential EO's signed yesterday.
The Payroll Tax Holiday EO is described as follows:

He provided a payroll tax holiday to Americans earning less than $100,000 per year, directing the Treasury Department to allow employers to defer payments.

My concern is the use of the words Employers to Defer Payments.

As a worker, I have this tax extracted from my check before I ever see it by my employer, who makes the payment to the Government on my behalf.

So, where is the Deferring part going to happen? Will my employer continue to extract the Tax and Defer Paying it to the Government until 2021, reaping countless profits by holding/investing the money?

I know this is not the intent of the EO, as the President has stated. But my employer is slimy enough to take advantage of low-hanging fruit, as it continues to do so with other Federal benefits.

I'm just hoping the EO spells it out clearly.
