Hugh Laurie is a fine actor, which I say because he can do both comedy and drama, and that impresses me. But what's with the accent? Most of his roles are American English speaking, and it's always a bit odd to hear him speak with a distinct English accent, like here...Acting With A Lion.

There is no rocket science involved in believing that Joe Biden is the most likely to removed via the 25th amendment.
But the 25th amendment route is not an easy path. The more likely scenario is that he will be removed at the DNC convention. The scary path is any attempt to remove Joe Biden between the election and Jan 20th. The House is uniquely charged with resolving election disputes according to the Constitution, but it hasn't done this in modern times and all previous disputes were ugly.

Prediction - although the rioters are going to gather near the Federal courthouse, they won't stay there - they were spooked by the Federal felony arrests on Sunday.
I think that they will block a local freeway in honor of Summer Taylor (one stupid gesture deserves another), on the assumption that then they will get to deal with the ineffectual Portland police. It would be pretty funny if the Feds decided that they had jurisdiction over interstate highways, and arrested a bunch more people on Federal felonies for blocking the freeway.

Had the dream weaver album, which had virtually no guitar action, but on one song.
Then I graduated to Pink Floyd. Still one of their biggest fans. Went to a Roger Waters concert. A Year or so ago. The music was spectacular, but the Trump bashing caused me to walk out 3/4 of the way in.
Sad. I missed Comfortably Numb, which I heard was epic.

Well the big moment came .. they fired the torpedo ... and nothing. I don't think it even hit, it just sank probably. Dad said he was standing there watching, with his hands in his pockets ... and noticed there were these extra parts left over, all kinds of gee gaws and fiddly bits and springs. He got real scared and threw all that stuff overboard and never said anything to anyone. LOL! Way to go dad.

I have told her that they can't do that and she has pointed out they can just fire her instead.

Well, I don't really have the exact proportions to give you at this second in terms of teaspoons of this or 1/4 cups of that.
And I would also note that I did not make a batch of those candy-red things. They are closer to a Luxardi-style.
But essentially I made a rich Demerara syrup at 1.5:1 as a base, and simmered it for about an hour with a cinnamon stick, many cloves, whole nutmeg and allspice berries.
Once I had strained that, I added Luxardo Maraschino liqueur and brought that to a quick boil just to boil out sobs the raw alcohol taste.
While it was still warm, but not hot, I added a couple of swaths of peel from a blood orange and added the pitted Rainer cherries and allowed them to sit until everything was at room temperature.
Then I closed them up in a jar and let them mature.
I'm sure you could can them, but I think you would run the risk of breaking down the cherries too much.

July 31, 2007 -- U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts has left a Maine hospital after having a seizure yesterday afternoon at his Maine vacation home.
According to media reports, doctors said Roberts, 52, had a "benign idiopathic seizure," meaning that they couldn't find a reason for the seizure, which happened after Roberts had gotten off a boat at a dock near his summer home on Maine's Hupper Island.
Roberts fell on the dock and sustained scrapes. He was taken by boat to the mainland and was reportedly conscious and alert when he was transferred to an ambulance and taken to the Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport, Maine.
At the medical center, Roberts got a "thorough neurological evaluation, which revealed no cause for concern," Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg told reporters.
Roberts reportedly had had a seizure in 1993. In 2001, he told the Senate Judiciary Committee that his health was "excellent," according to the Associated Press.
WebMD spoke with Jacqueline French, MD, about Roberts' seizures. French is a professor of neurology at the University of Pennsylvania. She's not one of Roberts' doctors and hasn't seen his medical records.
What is a "benign idiopathic seizure"?
There is no such thing as a category of seizure called "benign." A seizure is a seizure. It's not a benign thing to have a seizure. I think what they're trying to get across with that word is that there is not an underlying cause that's alarming. He hasn't been discovered to have an infection or a brain tumor or anything along those lines. But other than that, there is no "benign."
The other thing is that they are being very careful to call it a seizure but in fact -- and obviously it was a seizure -- but the fact that he has had two seizures without cause -- one in 1993 and the most recent one -- actually puts him in the category of epilepsy because the only definition of the word "epilepsy" is more than one unprovoked seizure. So once you've had two unprovoked seizures, you in fact have epilepsy. And the reason that we use that term is because the likelihood of having a third once you've had two is more than 50%...

Funny thing, I had seizures when I was little due to a high fever when I was an infant. Not epilepsy even though post-fever I had seizures. And then when I got older, like 5 years old, they stopped.

In regards to the red hair on men, I'm a man with auburn hair. Hispanic women seem to love it. When I lived and worked in the Cleveland area Hispanic women (primarily Puerto Rican) would come up and touch it, without even asking. I felt so cheap and easy.

If I have any advice to offer from my failures (that was my fourth batch), it would be to err on the side of maintaining the integrity of the cherries themselves. Maybe soak them when the previously boiled liquid reaches 80-85 degrees depending on whether you have the cherries refrigerated or at room temp. My first batch wound up making a hellacious ice cream topping for chocolate ice cream, but were far too flaccid for a cocktail cherry.
I roughly used equal parts liqueur to syrup, but you want the syrup to thicken quite a bit when you infuse it.
I am going to experiment by adding a tiny bit of bitter chocolate to my last experiment as well tomorrow. I'll let you know how that works out.

Traditional definition of assault is apprehension of imminent bodily harm or words to that effect, not necessarily to include actual contact. Contact was battery. Thus, you got the combined crimes of assault AND battery. Modern definitions have changed to call many such batteries "assaults." So in addition to the federal law against lasers on aircraft, shining a laser which could be mistaken for a laser sight, in which a riotous mob is calling for murder of police could include apprehension of imminent bodily harm. If the laser is powerful enough, obvious eye damage can occur.

The Federal tactics are very different from Portland police tactics. You have a line of Portland cops standing facing the protestors, with the crowd throwing stuff at them, and it is up to a police commander to order a slow advance, one the commander has determined that enough stuff has been thrown at them. Portland cops rarely charge.
Sunday night, one glass bottle was thrown at a line of Federal agents, and the agents immediately charged the crowd in response. I saw that one on Insty, and while never a salt water sailor, I have experienced the same effect on freshwater, that sudden lock and you cannot move, and then - there you are off. The different temperature gradients make sense because mine has been on Higgins Lake in Michigan, a deep, spring-fed, lake with a lot of cold water and shallows where it is warmer.

A bad scare today. I took Beast, a rescue boy, in for a chiropractic adjustment on his neck. The doctor said she thought the left shoulder was thicker than the right and suggested an X-ray.
Naturally, the first thought is cancer, which would mean curtains for poor Beast. Her Majesty arranged for me to take him right down to our regular vet for an exam.
I dropped Beast off and waited a couple of hours. The verdict came in: no cancer. He's home now and on Gabapentin for his aches. We'll take him back to the chiropractor this weekend for laser treatment.

NOW I think the right approach is "isolate if you're at risk, caution if you have to interact with the public, otherwise just wash your hands a little more often". We've figured out treatments -- which we didn't have at the beginning of the year -- and while "cases" are increasing as testing uncovers them, death rate is decreasing.
The only real big question is how well our immune systems hold onto immunity and how the virus changes its "appearance". From what I've read, it doesn't have the genetic flexibility of influenza viruses, so it's really down to our immune systems.
And, yeah, every public health official who condoned George Floyd protests but condemned reopen protests should be fired and barred from ever holding a position of public trust.

One of the most incredible Hollywood things I noticed was the fact that for 6-7 years, Hugh Laurie was absolutely brilliant as Gregory House. Just unbelievable. And he never, ever won an Emmy. Look for a Boler or Trillium trailer. They are classics. Made of two fiberglass clamshell halves, they are strong, light, and water-tight. They are quite sought after, and have clubs and everything.

last few nights. I'm trying to make a plan.
I am having trouble when I consider variables...Where would I send my family if the wheels come down for Uncle Joe?
What if a new Civil WAR? Would I stand? Where would I send my family? (A plan is in place)
Would I have my sons stand with me? (A plan is in place)
Yet to even have to make these plans saddens me and hurts my soul to the center of my being.
When I was 7 years old, my dad gave us 4 ft. sections of heavy hemp rope with the ends dipped in gas and lit on fire to spin around...those were our fireworks. times were simple and uncomplicated then.
What am I giving my children?
What kind of Country?

I'm considering Little Guy Mini Max, Casita, or Safari Condo Alto. All three of these are well under 3,500 lbs loaded, under 350 lbs hitch weight, and have a full bath. Ascape is a bit too small, but it has its charms.

If she's already given recorded testimony, then leaving her alive is probably the better option for anyone that she's mentioned in her sworn statements. If she's dead, then her testimony can be submitted to the court, and there's no way to challenge what she stated (aside from finding factual flaw in it, of course). If she's still alive, then she can be cross-examined and possibly tripped up or made to look foolish.

Craigslist Houston has at this moment 564 listings of RVs in that section of their ads.
Fair warning, at least 10% of those ads are frauds, and you'll soon be able to detect those at a glance, be it an impossibly low price, or a very visible "photo of a photo" type resolution in the ad.
Pro-Tip. Check Craigslist ads in the DRY CLIMATE areas, such as AZ, NV, CA, NM.
Watch for the fraud ads, and train yourself to detect them.
But many deals are out there, and you can find a nice unit for a very reasonable price.

Someone upthread mentioned two younger women currently on Appeals Courts that looked pretty good. There are others.
Just need to have 51 votes in the Senate to get them through, and that is no guarantee. But I am hoping for Trump coattails in the swing state elections to carry some of them over the line. CO, ME, and MI are some that immediately come to mind. 2 are a hold 'em, and John James would be a fine pickup.

I was taking an Anthro class from a total hardass whose assistant couldn't understand much less speak. At some point, he took over her section. The second Mrs. Wolfus was a redhead. I've noticed that, aside from any soul stealing, RHs often have rather narrow, foxlike faces. There may have been, as there were several t.v. movies and documentaries done about them. I do recall that when they were promoting a book in Europe (can't remember if it was hers or his) that the French media were saying that it was a "true love" story, and that Americans were silly and narrow-minded for criticizing her.
I also recall that he, and/or his mother, sued the school district for allowing the affair to happen. (He testified that he and Mary Kay had several sexual encounters in the school). He lost.
I saw him on an interview once, talking about how difficult it had been for him trying to be a father and take care of a baby when he was a middle school student. He said the affair had stolen his childhood from him. He seems to have a lot of conflicting feelings about the whole affair, which is probably understandable, given the circumstances.

One of the items on Racial Superiority was Cognitive Dissonance.
Cognitive Dissonance occurs when a person holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values.
Many people would inevitably resolve dissonance by blindly believing whatever they wanted to believe.
That is 100% of all leftist, progressive ideology and patterns. All one need to do is look into families in black communities and see that about 80% are not families. Just a single mother waiting for a government official to help her out.

Yep, and this particular kid was vulnerable, coming from the background he did. There was no father in the home, and his mother worked as a cleaning lady, and the kid didn't get much attention at home. So when this pretty blond teacher started telling him how special he was, it probably made him feel great. It's not surprising that the kid would be attracted to her, it was just sad that she did not have the sense to keep the relationship within the appropriate bounds.

Hi, Salty-That is very kind of you. Jessie was not there last Sunday because her hip was hurting her. She was worried that she might beed a hip replacement but the orthopedist said it was just bad arthritis. She did play for our online service though and we did have people there for the Sunday service. No BLM, however. It would be hard to find our church and since almost everyone in the town knows Ray, the Korean vet who was born there, it wouldn't be a group from town attacking the church.
