Pinback: [making video diary entry] I do not like the men on this spaceship. They are uncouth and fail to appreciate my better qualities. I have something of value to contribute to this mission if they would only recognize it. Today over lunch I tried to improve morale and build a sense of camaraderie among the men by holding a humorous, round-robin discussion of the early days of the mission. My overtures were brutally rejected. These men do not want a happy ship. They are deeply sick and try to compensate by making me feel miserable. Last week was my birthday. Nobody even said "happy birthday" to me. Someday this tape will be played and then they'll feel sorry.

NASA's YT blurb on the feed: Watch history unfold on Saturday, May 30, as NASA and SpaceX launch astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley to the International Space Station. This mission marks the first time since the retirement of the space shuttle in 2011 that humans will fly to the space station from U.S. soil. The mission's first launch attempt on Wednesday, May 27 was scrubbed due to weather conditions. Tune in starting at 11 a.m. EDT as NASA and SpaceX provide joint, live coverage from launch to arrival at the space station. Teams are targeting 3:22 p.m. EDT for the launch of the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft atop a Falcon 9 rocket from historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Crew Dragon is scheduled to dock to the space station on Sunday, May 31. All ya'll who are fascinated by space travel, or even if you're just mildly amused by technology like this, you MUST go to this website:
www.ApolloInRealTime.Org It has the complete Apollo 11, 13 and 17 missions, from one minute to launch to recovery at sea of the astronauts. When I see complete, I mean every single word spoken by all stations of mission control and astronauts is seen in transcripts, you hear all the audio, see every picture taken and every frame of video, in order as it occurred. It is probably the most technically incredible website I've ever seen. You can spend weeks just watching. Posted by: Sharkman at May 30, 2020 04:05 PM (BM2fS) 340

Posted by: Kilroy I work an MDA subcontract as a Lockheed employee under Boeing as prime. They are corrupt, shoulder to shoulder, from every person above the basic level 5 engineer all the way to the top. They deserve to be liquidated with aggression, their capital assets sold off, and the level 5 and below engineers brought over to the other defense businesses. What we all want to happen to the FBI, needs to happen to Boeing for the same reason. Inept, corrupt, halfassed leadership. Level 1 = college bs, no experience Level 2 = college bs, 5 years experience Level 3 = college ms, or ten years experience Level 4 = college ms, or 15 years experience Level 5 = college PhD, or 20 years experience Level 6 = college phd, or 25 years experience & a college ms Level 7 = director, no experience, MBA maybe, usually retired military or retired pilot from commercial Level 8 = vice president, retired military general officer, or possibly an extremely good engineer that survived past level 5. Basically, the people running the show rarely know what the business technical aspects are and how to run it. Thie is what got them the 737 max, and the 'redesigned FBI kill vehicle', and the failed space line of business. Is it obvious that I have a 4-hour problem with Boeing? So - a bit of OT pollution allowed here, to keep the pet thread pure? - a few interesting items.
"Immigrant" business owners on Lake in Mpls reportedly returning to stores to try and protect them - since STILL no police/NG presence. Are we seeing the 2nd version of Roof Koreans emerging? Also - 5K people gathering at 5th Precinct station, which was almost stormed last night. I've been out of superlatives for years, but I cannot believe what we are seeing here in MN. I know the feds need cooperation to intervene - usually, and effectively and with least risk of disaster - but is Don really gonna let this keep going?? ======================= I'm in pretty good shape; just joking around a bit. It's times like these that really make me mourn the past. My father in law had an FFL. i got several of his short stock, but b/c of a nasty divorce, ended up bugging out to Argentina. He took the bulk of his armory w/him. I've only seen a partial inventory, but there was some VERY rare, and useful shit. After his death, his idiot widow handed it over to the state. It still fucks me up. Impeachment not an issue, I don't think, for Trump (and actually now pretty much damaged beyond repair, possibly forever, by its trivial political abuse this past year).
Trump's first comments on the matter were about not letting it continue if local authorities did not get things under control. Just wondering out loud what's going on - this incompetence in MN has dragged on far beyond where I thought possible. Posted by: rhomboid at May 30, 2020 05:31 PM (El6T/) 546

Posted by: rhomboid at May 30, 2020 05:31 PM (El6T/) MN national Guard has no Infantry units. Its got Armored and Aviation, plus the command element for a Division. But the infantry units for the Division are drawn from other States around them. MN Gov can get boots on the ground, but not the 'right' boots. Posted by: Romeo13 at May 30, 2020 05:34 PM (NgKpN) 552

========================= Not picking a fight, but that's NOT absurd. I witnessed this in fake riot 1.0 in Ferguson, MO. In front of the smoking hulk of a Quicktrip, there were at lease 200 protesters, and half of them were waving Palestinian flags. Now I'm not saying the yutes of N.
