The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg

This is crazy. Look at the video clip below. What is wrong with this woman? And, more importantly, why are they allowing her to be on the air? I mean, somebody higher up at MSNBC had to make the decision to say yes, this woman is completely normal and certainly sane enough to be watched by the viewing public and to be publicly associated with our network.

Really?

I'm old enough to remember the old-school news anchors. Back in the day, we had Huntley and Brinkley, Walter Cronkite, Frank Reynolds. These were serious men who took the news seriously. Whether they were actually worthy of respect is a conversation for another day, but whether they were or not, they knew how to project an aura of, dare I say it, gravitas that made you want to take the nightly news seriously.

At the very least, they knew how to fake it real good.

But who can take TV news seriously nowadays?

Journalisming is not a serious profession. It's a clown college full of clowns.

Who can take Brian Stelter seriously?

Who can take Don Lemon seriously?

Who can take Matt Lauer seriously? Especially when he was chasing women around his specially designed rape room? And if it was consensual as he claims, what was he doing boinking interns on company time?

And this Maddow woman... sheesh! She sounds like she's this close: --><-- to some sort of psychotic break. It's scary and pathetic and disturbing. She desperately needs professional help to work through her psychological issues.

But not on the air, please. What a complete embarrassment.

And on a completely different topic, isn't it odd how the party that is 100% behind open borders, needle-sharing, decriminalization of intentional infection with AIDS, and street pooping is suddenly concerned about the spread of disease?

After telling America several times Reagan was okay, Reynolds was handed a sheet of paper on air telling him Reagan had been shot and was in the ER. Reynolds reared back in his chair, literally slapped his own forehead, exclaimed, "My God!" and began shouting about "all this information".

ABC sent Sam Donaldson to sit with Reynolds.

It's on youtube and quite chuckle worthy.

51 I'm watching a lot of examples where sane people on the Right are saying "F*ck this...I'm done with the mask thing...done with the social distancing, and done with one way grocery store aisles."

On the left there is panic, scolding, and outright belief that this nonsense is permanent and necessary.

So, as things stand right this minute...which group is more likely to show up on election day at the polling center to cast a vote?

Correct.

So...boy oh boy...here comes the full court press for mail-in voting. Every single state with a Liberal leaning Supreme Court will be voting by mail in November. I don't see the USSC picking up any of these cases. They only need one state like "Pennsylvania" and the election is lost. And, PA has a politically hack Liberal Supreme Court.

Sadly true but in a free, self governing country it is these clowns that provide the information needed to keep it a free, self governing country. Which they don't and the true danger is that half the country doesn't even realize that they're clowns and rather thinks that they are sages bringing them the unvarnished truth.

And that is why we probably won't survive.

I was at the farmer's market Saturday, and while all the booths said "face covering required" I saw loads of people without. Also 80% of those out on the sidewalk didn't have them. Not taxpayer money.

Who prints the money? When most people pay their taxes before they ever see a dime in a paycheck... it's not taxpayer money.

It's government money, and there's only a growingly indirect connection between you, the citizen, and the money the government collects and/or spends.

262 Driving people crazy is part of the leftist project.

At one point, in the early 00s I think, there was a conversation about bringing back the policies that would allow the government to involuntarily commit insane, but non-violent, people.

Now, there are serious questions about civil rights and the use of police power here, but the left erupted not over that but a very real fear they would each individually be put away because they know they are what would traditionally be called crazy.

263 I very clearly remember Watergate. Journalism was never fair or balanced; it's always been a messaging tool for those with the will to power. Exceptions there are, of course. Cronkite, etc. are NOT those exceptions. Journalism is professional wrestling without the stupid costumes.

264 >>> 217 The Karens are coming for your children.

The CDC guidelines for schools reopening are nightmarish and cruel. As a parent I'm worried. The only that keeps me hopeful is that the rules are largely unworkable. I dread sending my kids to school with a mask. I don't think a parent would subject their child to such a sickening distopian senerio.
Posted by: Max Power at May 25, 2020 12:45 PM

The teachers, educators I've talked with agree that the idiotic guidelines mean no private school will ever be able to open again if they are followed. They would all be shut down. And public schools will need billions upon billions of dollars funneled into them and then lit on fire. Private schools have already started shuttering because of this.

It really is amazing how every single consequence of this very very very (what? are you a science hater?) very serious cold season seems to align perfectly with how leftists would like to reorder society. Like some kind of magic.

266 Watching a video of a guy with a mid 60s pickup. Now I really want an old pickup again. Just have to remind myself what they are like without power steering.
Posted by: Notsothoreau at May 25, 2020 12:44 PM (Lqy/e)

It's easier than it has ever been to add power steering to an old vehicle. You just get an EPAS (Electric Power-Assisted Steering) unit from a late-model donor car, and adapt it in. Or spend some spendy $$$, and get a kit from the streetrod industry made especially for your vehicle.

There are other ways, too, depending upon the year and model of pickup chosen.

I keep arguing that we need to push back in a way that would really hit the left square in where their nads should be. To wit:

1) Ban public transit

2) Automatic quarantine for anyone coming into the country

3) Send the army to the border. No refugees/asylum

4) No more H1Bs/foreign students

5) Permanent China embargo

6) Seize all Chinese assets in the US to pay for Wuhan flu damage.

Now, if Wuhan flu is as serious as the left states, how can you argue with ANY of these policies?

274 There's a '61 Chevy pickup in my shed. Belongs to my neighbor's son. It has (most of) the original sky blue paint but many worn places where the paint is completely gone. He's thinking about leaving the paint as is and clear-coating it. Shoot, why not?
Posted by: creeper at May 25, 2020 12:47 PM (XxJt1)

That's called "patina" these days, and it's definitely a thing. Shoot a satin clearcoat, not gloss. They even sell fake patina vehicle wraps, now. But real patina is real.

AND people who would go start businesses are going to see this what happened here with the arbitrary government lockdowns and NOT go start that business. Why take the risk when the government might do the same damn thing the next time another flu comes out of China.

288 As Americans do, we will start to see masks that express our individualism and sarcasm.

I think there will be some who won't wear one or will forget now and then and nothing will be done about it.

Sadly, our freedoms will depend on what businesses do and they will rely on lawyers to tell them what their liability will be.

I think masks will be required indoors but not out. And in personal groups and family it will be internally decided. The law won't let the Govs go too far.

Public buildings and gatherings (except for church and membership only groups) will be decided state by state and poss. city by city.

I would wager that soon we'll all look somewhat like Star Wars Storm Troopers.

Talking/hearing with a mask on is difficult and hard to breathe so what will become more common will be full face masks with aux air tanks, amped hearing with a speaker for voice. Possible direct connections to your phone and your music player.

People will then not be bothered by it so much.

In the boonies life will go on as usual with none of the city nonsense.
