The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

5) The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6) He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Matthew 28:5-6

Quote II

“I am shocked and unbelievably pissed off,” “Art is there to be seen and shared by all, for society as a whole, to bring enjoyment, to bring inspiration, and also to bring comfort. Especially in this difficult time.” Singer Laren’s director, Jan Rudolph de Lorn

Quote III

“It scares me that there are people out there who would rather die of the virus than call it by the wrong name,” he said. “This isn’t about vilifying a culture. This is about facts.”Bill Maher

Quote IV

You know the weapons that people are buying today could end up being used in households, schools, churches, bars, and on our streets in the future. So we all have to look out for each other. Alyssa Milano

Quote V

“Millions of people work in the grey economy, which means that they haven’t received any income in more than a month and have no idea when they might return to work. The government is issuing so-called shopping vouchers to support people. If the state doesn’t step in soon to help these families, the mafia will provide its services, imposing their control over people’s lives.”Nicola Gratteri, antimafia investigator

I'm not a Dallas Cowboys fan. Good on Dak Prescott. I bet he takes more risks with his life in 60 minutes of football than with this damn Kung Flu shelter in place bullshit.

Despite seemingly the entire world taking turns at attacking Ruby Gobert for his reckless mocking of the coronavirus, not all athletes have learned to be careful during quarantine. According to TMZ, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott hosted a 30-person birthday party for a close friend, and the event was also attended by his teammate, running back Ezekiel Elliott.

The party reportedly garnered a police complaint, though Prosper PD — where Prescott’s home is located — told TMZ that they were not able to verify a party in progress. Photos obtained by TMZ seem to show a catered party in full swing, though the website is relying on sources to estimate the 30 person number. There was also apparently a smaller dinner later in the night, which would seemingly not violate the guidelines set by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, which state that there should be no gatherings over 10 people.

Once again. Jesus Christ is in trouble with the Romans.

JERUSALEM—Roman authorities are investigating controversial religious leader Jesus of Nazareth for violating the Empire's clear "stay in tomb" order. After crucifying him and laying him in the tomb, Roman guards put Him under strict orders to stay there and not come back, rising victorious over sin and death.

But Jesus, answering to a higher authority, refused to stay dead and busted out of the tomb, establishing a kingdom that would never end -- again, in clear violation of the government's orders.

"Jesus is a dangerous rebel, refusing to bend the knee to Caesar and not abiding by the law of sin and death," said one Roman official. "He clearly broke the law by leaving the tomb, and we're going to be issuing a citation and placing him under mandatory quarantine for these crimes."

Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

PHILADELPHIA — A man was physically removed from a SEPTA bus for not wearing a mask. SEPTA operators had the right to refuse to transport passengers that do not wear face masks, but after police forcibly removed a man from a bus on Friday morning, that rule has been rescinded.

A viewer alerted CBS 3 Philly to the video that was posted to social media. A rider was physically dragged off a SEPTA bus by police at 11th and Market Streets on Friday.

Mr Johnson, 55, was taken to London's St Thomas' Hospital on Sunday - 10 days after testing positive for Covid-19.

He spent three nights in intensive care before returning to a ward on Thursday.

He said in a video on Twitter that he had witnessed the "personal courage" of hospital staff on the front line.

FLAKES!
We are millions 'n' millions
We're coming to get you
We're protected by unions

Broward County, once again the Sheriff's Department is in the news.

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputies Association, IUPA President Jeff Bell was suspended from the department on Friday following a progressive public dispute over coronavirus safety protocols.

Earlier in the week, Bell was critical of Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony and his handling of the COVID-19 crisis. The union president does not believe the sheriff is doing enough to protect his deputies, Local 10 reported.

Tony held a news conference Tuesday morning and lashed out at Bell saying, “It has impacted the confidence in the community as to whether or not we are prepared. It has also impacted the nature of the camaraderie within this agency, and this has been sparked off by a member who is supposed to represent the very best of our organization, which is our law enforcement personnel, who put their lives on the frontline.”

Some good news on the science front. An enzyme to break down plastic bottles has been found.

Plastics have a lot of properties that have made them fixtures of modern societies. They can be molded into any shape we'd like, they're tough yet flexible, and they come in enough variations that we can tune the chemistry to suit different needs. The problem is that they're tough enough that they don't break down on their own, and incinerating them is relatively inefficient. As a result, they've collected in our environment as both bulk plastics and the seemingly omnipresent microplastic waste.

For natural materials, breaking down isn't an issue, as microbes have evolved ways of digesting them to obtain energy or useful chemicals. But many plastics have only been around for decades, and we're just now seeing organisms that have evolved enzymes to digest them. Figuring they could do one better, researchers in France have engineered an enzyme that can efficiently break down one of the most common forms of plastic. The end result of this reaction is a raw material that can be reused directly to make new plastic bottles.

Wonderful!!! Private industry joins the Stasi Movement.

Two of the tech industry's biggest players are working together to fight the coronavirus, announcing a new set of tools that could come to a majority of smartphones around the world.

The new technology, outlined in white papers published by Apple and Google on Friday, relies on Bluetooth wireless radio technology to help phones communicate with one another, ultimately warning users about people they've come in contact with who are infected with the coronavirus.

No word if Conservative, Libertarian and deeply religious students are included in this inclusionary brainwashing class.

The University of Mississippi has introduced a new diversity and inclusion course requirement for students.

The main catalyst for Ole Miss implementing this course was an incident in which several students were photographed holding guns near a memorial for Emmett Till, resulting in an FBI investigation.

The online course, which is 45 minutes long, was due on April 1. The Daily Mississippian reports that it followed the same structure and method as alcohol and sexual assault online courses used at Ole Miss and schools across the country.

45 Hey everybody.
Happy victorious Easter to you all. :-)

I just have to share... I watched Martin Scorsese's movie Silence last night.

Call me crazy, and I'm not sure if 'apology' is the right word for it, but for anyone who believes Scorsese is anti-Christian or anti-Catholic because of his film The Last Temptation Of Christ, watch this movie. (If you don't want to spend any money for it, borrow the DVD from the library.) It's about as pro-Catholic/pro-Christian as any movie I can think of that I've ever seen.

It also seems to take at least a few rather nasty swipes at "spiritualism" and the belief that all religions are about equal.

To summarize the rabbit hole I've gone down reading the last 24 hrs.

I'm now of the opinion there's a preponderance of evidence that this WuFlu is not natural, and is the product of Chicom GOF research at the Wuhan lab that was accidentally released. The only evidence that it is natural depends on the Chicoms not being liars, not being Asshoe.

Fun facts I have learned:

1) NIH gave the Wuhan lab a $3.7M grant to fuck around and experiment with bat coronavirus. The lead Chicom on that is known as "Bat Woman".

2) US govt/NIH/Deep State shenanigans. For about two decades the NIH has been funding what is dubbed "GOF" research. GOF = "Gain of Function".

What is this shit, you may ask? This is where scientists *deliberately* tinker with viruses to make the more infectious and virulent and/or then enhance their ability to infect humans.

WTF, you might ask, who in their right minds would do this. They claim this GOF research gives them valuable knowledge about how viruses mutate and evolve to infect humans, and that is is needed for making treatments and vaccines.

The risk is a big duh. What if it escapes. Second it is inherently a major dual-use concern. Well the scientists doing it may have the best of intentions, they are creating blueprints for those that have evil intentions to do some serious shit.

3) The most egregious example of GOF was done by some team at the University of NC led by a Dr. Branic. He manged to soup up an H5N1 avian virus and made it infectious to humans. It has been described as a super Franken-flu. A real life Capt. Trips that if released could make the Spanish Flu look mild.

Because of that, and other bio-safety incidents, the US govt during the Obama years, instituted a pause on GOF research for an evaluation.

GOF was reinstated in 2017.

4) Guess who was working under Dr. Branic in that infamous 2012 project? Chicom Batwoman and another big Chicom Wuhan lab scientist.

American tax money and brainpower taught the Chicoms how to GOF viruses.

Most excellent movie. The star, 'Joey', is clearly a very loved pet. That horse is smarter than most teenagers. Portions of the movie made me want to dust and de-pollen the place.

The way the horse played and interacted with people reminded me of the snowflake appaloosa I had as a kid. She would play hide-n-seek with us. Sneakiest damned horse I ever knew too. She would actively stalk me in the big assed forested 60+acre pasture we kept her in too. I figure it was just another game for her. She would catch my dumb 15yo self in a creek crossing and blow hard. Skeered me multiple times. Could see her face, ears all forward, a little hop in her gait. Pleased as punch for making me crap myself.

Mis. Hum. If I can find an olde photo, I'll send it to you for the pet thread. Can you import Deguerotype format?

162 Last Monday night, I decided I needed to get a mask, since we had just been advised to start wearing one when going out. I went to Amazon and checked their stock. My biggest concern was, when will it arrive?.

The best offer I could find looked pretty nice, but would arrive Thursday the 16th. Most other options looked to be arriving in May or even June.

I thought, well, I guess I'll just have to go for that one. It was $20, which seemed a bit overpriced, but that's the sort of market we're in right now.

I rigged together a shitty mask from a shirt sleeve and a shoelace to hold me over until my proper mask arrived.

I opened up my mailbox today, and there was my mask! It arrived yesterday, five days earlier than expected.

I tried it on, and it seems comfortable and well-made. I'm really happy with that purchase! And now I'll be able to go to the supermarket without feeling guilty.

I don't know anywhere near enough about this to be able to make judgments of credibility on my own, but I've read claims that the WuFlu coronavirus shows many sings of being "GOF'd".

What they do is use animals to sequentially transmit a virus back and forth in a controlled manner that speeds up mutation rates. This speeds up the natural process. Hell, it is natural, just optimized, I guess you would say.

They then investigate these mutations as select any strains that have promise. Promise being defined as being more lethal and/or infectious.

And then, they'll run any virus mutation that show human infection potential through cultured human cells (kidney cells are a big one, brain cells too and others).

By doing this right, they can mutate and select a virus to infect humans. This is how the good Dr. Branic created his own Capt. Trips.

Ferrets and tree shrews are used a lot for the mutation speed up chain because of some properties they have that are good for the process.

One of the claims I've read is that Wuflu is very infectious to both ferrets and tree shrews, and it is claimed this is proof that it was GOF'd.

ANd remember the CHicom Batwoman at the Wuhan lab learned at Branic's knee how to do this.

So what I think happened was Chicom Batwoman, with NIH funding, went and collected a bunch of horseshoe bats and found some interesting coronavirus. She then started playing GOF games at that Wuhan lab. You can say that Batwoman is entirely a product of American money and expertise. We taught her and funded her.

There was a little oopsie there, and she managed to infect some personnel who went out and spread it to the local population.

Chicoms cover it up. Batwoman, by the way, has been disappeared.

It's getting harder and harder to not wish that. However, we have this story out of India, where the muzzies are causing a large outbreak there (via Jihad Watch) :

New Delhi: A youth from Madhya Pradesh named Samir Khan is seen mocking coronavirus masks in his TikTok videos, now tests positive for coronavirus. Yes it's also a case of tragic irony.

Ever since the Coronavirus had hit the world there is thousands of videos were posted on TikTok where many Muslim users had made various claims like the Coronavirus is the NRC of Allah, that if one prays to Allah regularly then the virus can't attack them etc.

Sameer also posted a similar kind of video on Tik Tok, where he mocked use if masks and said that his god will save him not this piece of cloth.

I never saw them, but I guess I turned down a weird chance to do so. I was waiting in line for The Bottom Line in New York, a club I'd failed to get into for Dire Straits US debut, but succeeded for Dixie Dregs, which was awesome (and I think it was Dickie Betts sitting two tables over), and the bouncer was going down the line, telling us we could buy tickets to Soft White Underbelly, which he claimed was Blue Oyster Cult playing incognito. Nothing makes sense with the response to the COVID nonsense. It's all such a terrible perfect storm for renewed tyranny.. What the Democrats are pushing through.. the seemingly coordinated lies from the WHO China, even our own CDC.

All of this occurs just as China is about to be crippled and brought to its knees economically. Right as we the United States was emerging finally as a respected super power again.

They threw everything they had at Trump and it all failed.

I firmly believe, ESPECIALLY due to this bullshit Dr Fauci and his what appears to be a perfectly calculated situation he out us in.

His stated we had NOTHING to fear! He encouraged to go on living normally! He encouraged us to continue to gather...

None of this makes sense at ALL.

I'll look for it. Gewurtz. ages well (like SB) but not too far. You have to pick the vintage it as it is ripe. Best is to cultivate a good buyer. I know that sounds like a snob thing, but if you are in a reasonable sized town it's worth finding out which buyer knows their wine and simply asking them. You won't go wrong most of the time. These guys are usually pros and unlike your humble addict self, know what they are about.

Really pissed me off when his obit said that "he was not known as a live performer." Oh, really, scribbler? And where were you at those shows? His booming bass voice, and great sense of blues drama and timing, was a treat for those of us who actually got out to see him perform.

Conveniently however they continue to broadcast and push for more tyranny on virtually ALL media.

They knew Trump had no choice after the panic they set in motion.

This virus is not an accident and it was absolutely known it would come.

The economy was the ONLY thing that could have been used to take down trump. Trouble for them was they had to find a way to destroy it.

The constant calls for staying indoors and locking down while every hour that passes by there is less of a chance our economy will survive.

They dont care. They are the ones willing to economically MURDER us in order to maintain power.

This is abundantly clear.

On Good Friday our POS governor (Coonman Northam) signed a "Women's Health" bill into law that allows abortion for any reason even up to when the baby is crowning.
The 24 hour wait, as well as the requirement to show the woman an ultrasound, have been abolished, thus eliminating truly informed consent.
The abortionist is no longer required to be an MD and state regulations as to safety and hygiene in the 'clinics' have been rescinded. (Beauty salons should be so lucky!)

Remote-conferenced (used to be called phone calls) with Out-of-town son and DaughterInLaw, with 2½yo grandson, he who hasn't been ready to talk yet, last we knew, screaming Happy Easter! Until the cat scratched him and he went traumatic. It was almost like being there. 1yo granddaughter was not vocal.

Also called Mom, still hunkering down in her fort in the city, insisting no one come around lest she give us the virus, or something. Canny or crazy? At almost-100, what does it matter? IMHE shows *tomorrow* as peak resource use day, but LA County is adding ICU capacity for .... later? They don't get into the weeds/open the kimono on details behind their announcements, so no assumptions to dispute. Just seems off a bit, given known trends and main projections.

I think the Seattle field hospital's been dismantled, and other expedient facilities are/are about to be taken down elsewhere. But LA's adding capacity?

SD County new cases under 50/day (yesterday). A few more days like this and there will be a discernible peak having been passed (and, thankfully, at very low numbers).

477 On Easter Sunday, Pope Francis sent a letter to leaders of social movements promoting "structural changes" to the "economy of exclusion and inequality." Among other things, he encouraged these activists to use the coronavirus crisis as an opportunity to spur radical change and launch a "humanistic and ecological conversion." He also endorsed the idea of a universal basic income (UBI), championed by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang.

490 6-4-3 Turn Two, happens that I'm expecting a Wahl trimmer any day now. Actually had another brand for many (20?) years, thing just conked out a few months ago, of course. Hadn't bothered to replace it yet. Have only ever used one for small touch-ups, not hair cutting. Will be interesting to see how I do. But I generally get it cut very short now (more comfortable), and there's less of it (ahemm), so I can probably do OK. Won't look like a prisoner at the Kolyma gulag, anyway.

491 For giggles, and deep insight into the soul of America, have browsed around a few sites to check on gunz/ammo panic.

Seems like still plenty of ammo, just not as much selection as usual. But every standard load I looked for was available from a known source.

Pretty surprised to find some components a bit lacking. A few popular powders, still available, but barely. Primers a bit better - not much selection, but still out there.

Puzzled by the reloading component side here. Ammo/gun side, ahh, OK, whatever, and I don't mind more gun ownership or a boost to the industry. Even if the current situation is precisely the opposite of civil disorder.

But powder?

Yeah the wife's hair is getting long. I always liked it longer, but she keeps it just below the shoulder length, so its kind of cool seeing it longer like it used to be. Mine is way longer, so it growing is business as usual for me. I DO get monthly slight trims to keep it even, so the sucky part for me is that another month of this shit and I'll be fishing it out my coffee cup. The very front stretched out goes right below my chin. Thats definitely in coffee cup territory. My guess is I'll gradually burn it away when the wind blows it in front of my cigarette. lol

GUNSMITH: Finding one who doesn't want to charge Bespoke H&H prices, pending.

Oh, and I've GOT the 7x57 Redding Dies, too.

One thing I've found. "Sporterizing" .mil-surp rifles was an everyday thing in the '50s n' 60s.

Common in the '70s, and still active in the '80s.

Since then, it's become rare.

Try to find today, gunsmith with the tools and heat-sink paste who can re-forge a bolt handle to clear a scope.

Or who can drill and tap receiver rings for standard scope mounts.

They're damn few, is what I'm telling you, here.

Those were my hangouts for many years.

Last I read, NY State's plastic bag ban has only been delayed until a July 1 implementation (from March 1 originally), not rescinded in its entirety. One big reason for that, I think, is that NY State was going to charge a nickel a bag (with a small number of exceptions like a bag for raw meat from a grocery, take out, e.g.), with two cents going to the state and three cents going to the locality (or it could be vice-a-versa, but who cares?, it's still a nickel a bag either way). I don't think NY State wants to give up yet another money grubbing opportunity.

Hell, if we are hit with another 9/11-type of terror event, I don't want the Fed government to pay us any money -- for anything. If we need body bags, let the bankrupt (thanks to union pensions) state pay for them. NYS and NYC should be made to stand on their own two left feet.

It's also funny how Governor Fredo the Elder has been touted by lefties as a 'moderate' replacement for ol' Sundowner Joe at the DNC Convention because even rabid lefties know ol' Gropin' Joe ain't got a snowball's chance in hell of beating OrangeManBad. The 'conservatives need to get the hell out of New York because we don't need your kind here' moderate Governor Fredo the Elder. I'm quite certain that quote will go down the memory hole if Governor Fredo the Elder is switched in as the 'moderate' (because he has a chance to beat OrangeManBad) Dem presidential nominee.

554 In my household, we had NO days.

If you've had kids, you know the incessant requests. Can I haz a cookie? Can I get a candy bar at the checkout line? Can I haz popcorn? Can we watch Barney? And so on, to infinity and back.

So, sometimes "we" had NO days. Whatever they wanted, the answer was NO. This, of course, led to interesting conversations.

One asked for something, and the answer was NO. Next question -- Is this a NO day?

Best answer -- Maaaaaybe. Leave 'em guessin' usually.

Then there were the amateur 'reverse psychology' questions. Can I not have a cookie? Yup, you guessed it.

Lotsa fun. The kids got a kick out of it too. The kids spent all day trying to outsmart the NO days.

The wife would occasionally declare "I'm not Mom" days. Mom isn't home today. "Mom, she hit me."

Mom isn't here today. Go away. Mom will be home 'soon'.

Moms all celebrate their kids' first word, usually 'Mom'. Not too long after, they begin to regret it.

630 Mornin' shut-ins!

It's 7:29 on Radio Free America; this is Uncle Sam, with music, and the truth until dawn. Right now I've got a few words for some of our brothers and sisters in the lockdown zones: "the chair is against the wall, the chair is against the wall", "john has a long mustache, john has a long mustache".

And for all of you out there, on, or behind the lines, this is your song.

Also, I thought I read somewhere over the weekend that the NIH or someone in USA government (Fauci?) had recommended *against* a travel ban. But President Trump's people recommended *for* it and President Trump agreed with his people and enacted it at the end of January.

If you are scrambling to stop it and cover your ass, wouldn't you recommend a travel ban?

I am still convinced this is a Deep State black op and they wanted the virus to spread. It was a win-win for them. Either...

--- Trump freaks out and believes the recommendations by Fauci and Birx to crash the economy based on the jacked models or...

--- Trump does *not* go with their recommendations, the media hypes every COVID-19 infection case and death as they are doing now and then scream about Trump not going by the recommendations of Fauci and Birx and laying the blame on him for every death

One issue I don't see getting a lot of attention is that we've essentially put any non-covid healthcare, particularly elective surgeries, on hold for over a month now (this affects my son, particularly, so it's a big deal to me).

I think most people hear "elective surgery" and think it's a procedure you can choose to have or not. But from what I've read (and any medical professionals are free to correct me), it just means the surgery doesn't have to be done "right now". As long as the docs can take the time to schedule it, vs rushing you into the OR, it's considered elective.

There was no crush on the hospital system here when my son's surgery was originally scheduled, and had they done it, he'd have been a month into recovery. Now, his rescheduled surgery has been cancelled again. I need to check with my health insurance and/or the hospital to see if there is anyone to whom I can appeal this decision.
