Train Conductor Charged For Deliberately Attempting to Ram His Train Into the Navy Hospital Ship Mercy, Because He Believes It Is Part of a Government Plot

The charge is called "train wrecking." Hm. Well, just like it says on the tin.

An engineer deliberately ran a train off the tracks at high speed near the Port of Los Angeles in an attempt to crash into and damage the USNS Mercy hospital ship, prosecutors say.
The Pacific Harbor Line train derailed Tuesday, running through the end of the track and crashing through barriers, finally coming to rest about 250 yards from the docked naval ship.
Federal prosecutors allege train engineer Eduardo Moreno, 44, of San Pedro intended to hit the ship, saying he thought it was "suspicious" and did not believe "the ship is what they say it's for.'"
...

He allegedly made statements to a CHP officer that included "You only get this chance once. The whole world is watching. I had to. People don't know what's going on here. Now they will."

SO, at the height of the party, we hear his sister has this Cool Monkey, and so we clamor for her to bring it out and show it off. She can't resist being the center of attention, so she does. Quickly, the spider monkey assessed the situation, saw about 15 - 20 agitated little humans all reaching for it and making a lot of noise, and so it ran to the top of her head. As we crowded in, the Monkey got scared and grabber her hair tight, till it hurt. The older sister started yelling and trying to pull it off; of course this just made the monkey lock in it's little hands and pull her hair even harder. Seeing this, all of us kids starting shrieking louder, she pulled harder, the monkey pulled harder, and finally, terrified, the Monkey just let loose with a big stream of bright yellow piss, all across her face, right in the middle of all of us.

And that is the very FIRST time I remember honestly laughing till I cried!!! BESTEST birthday party ever, really!

More and more I am feeling that someone is going to try to do something drastic to bring about the end of the world as they know it, if only to keep all the flock from . . . I dunno, join the Shakers or the CPUSA or something.

A bud of mine mentioned that people go actually crazy and start acting insane after a while of being isolated and confined to houses. He speaks from experience, I think he is right, since this is so alien to so many people that they can't cope with the change in how the world is set up.

I lot of people dislike how everyone goes back inside the fence when the world gets turned upside down, but in truth, the fences are reassurance that the world has not fundamentally changed and it is not so scary as learning a new world.

Do the world a favor, be reassuring to scared people.

Obligatory monkey story

I like monkeys.

The pet store was selling them for 5� a piece. I thought that odd since they were normally a couple thousand each. I decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth. I bought 200. I like monkeys.

I took my 200 monkeys home. I have a big car. I let one drive. His name was Sigmund. He was retarded. In fact, none of them were really bright. They kept punching themselves in their genitals. I laughed. Then they punched my genitals. I stopped laughing.

I herded them into my room. They didn't adapt very well to their new environment. They would screech, hurl themselves off of the couch at high speeds and slam into the wall. Although humorous at first, the spectacle lost its novelty halfway into its third hour.

Two hours later I found out why all the monkeys were so inexpensive: they all died. No apparent reason. They all just sorta' dropped dead. Kinda' like when you buy a goldfish and it dies five hours later. Damn cheap monkeys.

I didn't know what to do. There were 200 dead monkeys lying all over my room, on the bed, in the dresser, hanging from my bookcase. It looked like I had 200 throw rugs.

I tried to flush one down the toilet. It didn't work. It got stuck. Then I had one dead, wet monkey and 199 dead, dry monkeys.

I tried pretending that they were just stuffed animals. That worked for a while, that is until they began to decompose. It started to smell real bad.

I had to pee but there was a dead monkey in the toilet and I didn't want to call the plumber. I was embarrassed.

I tried to slow down the decomposition by freezing them. Unfortunately there was only enough room for two monkeys at a time so I had to change them every 30 seconds. I also had to eat all the food in the freezer so it didn't all go bad.

I tried burning them. Little did I know my bed was flammable. I had to extinguish the fire.

Then I had one dead, wet monkey in my toilet, two dead, frozen monkeys in my freezer, and 197 dead, charred monkeys in a pile on my bed. The odor wasn't improving.

I became agitated at my inability to dispose of my monkeys and to use the bathroom. I severely beat one of my monkeys. I felt better.

I tried throwing them way but the garbage man said that the city wasn't allowed to dispose of charred primates. I told him that I had a wet one. He couldn't take that one either. I didn't bother asking about the frozen ones.

I finally arrived at a solution. I gave them out as Christmas gifts. My friends didn't know quite what to say. They pretended that they like them but I could tell they were lying. Ingrates. So I punched them in the genitals.

303 Weird. I spent three weeks on the Mercy back in '90. For a guy that had been deployed and living in tents for 8 months, it was like being on a friggin' cruise ship. Lots more females than you would see in an infantry battalion, to boot. And better chow. And we also make port call (army guy, is that the right term?) in Bahrain, where there was a Navy base and BEEER! Doc loaned me $20 and I drank rotgut $1/beer Filipono beer that tasted like formadehyde but dammit it was beer and when I took the liberty boat back to the Mercy doc had to undress me and pour my drunk ass back into my bed. I was there for kidney stones and had undergone two Ureteroscopies on the Mercy, unsuccessfully. So I was peeing pure red blood...until I went on shore leave. When I got back, even though I couldn't undress myself, I was peeing clear. So, yay for that.

I did, however, repay her the $20 when I got back to my unit.

Seeing this written out, that was the most Moronic Mercy Stay Evar.

How on Earth does one enforce that?

Consider Walmart and the tens of thousands of different products they offer. They would have to not only go through their entire inventory - just for Vermont - and create new columns in the database for what is 'essential'. and what is not. Then they need to populate that, update the back-office services, the POS code, and train the register operators. They would have to send staff out to either clear those items from the shelf, or individually label each one with a "PROHIBITED ITEM" sign on each.

Then, this will certainly fuck up the supply lines and the inventory control. They would have to cancel orders, recalibrate their order forecasting engines, and make major changes in their warehouse system.

Then you realize you can buy all of this shit on-line.

It would be easier if we just shot these assholes in the head.

We live very near Wylie. We get several bobcat notifications a year from the HOA. The last time was about a month ago, when there were a number of sightings just a block away. I never saw it, but my wife saw it twice in our yard.

About two weeks ago, I was sitting in the driveway watching the sun rise, which I do most mornings. A walker came past, we exchanged greetings, and he said, "Michael, did you see the mama skunk and her two babies playing at the end of the block?"

I walked carefully to the end of the block, saw the skunks playing, and stayed about 25 feet away. By then, the sun was up. Skunks are nocturnal and I've only seen them a few times when it wasn't dark.

I walked back home, leaned on the trunk of my car in the garage, and watched the birds and squirrels in the trees.I caught a glimpse of movement, looked down, and there was a single skunk about 4 feet away, walking directly into the garage.

I didn't panic, but said, "Whoooaaa," then the skunk looked at me and veered toward the street. It was an adult, but I'm guessing that it wasn't the mama skunk I had seen a few minutes before. I've heard they only spray when they feel threatened, and I suppose I didn't seem like a threat.
