The Chinese Word For Crisis is the Same As The Word for Opportunity

That's not true, but a lot of assholes like Al Gore like claiming it is.

But every crisis is an opportunity.

As this guy will explain.

Video embedded at end of post, too.

Thanks to Hogmartin for hosting that. I don't know who did it-- it's being sent around as an email attachment with no attribution.

More: Italian doctors now say they were seeing "strange" pneumonia cases in December, even November, before anyone even heard of coronavirus.

A friend has been wondering for days: Do NBA players have a higher-than-the-mean infection rate for coronavirus precisely because they played in China in late October?

Senator Thom Tillis throws his fellow NC senator -- the Deep State Inside Man Richard Burr -- three quarters of the way under the bus:

Extremely fat soyboy c**k Brian Stelter whines that no one can criticize the media:

Should we trust those dire predictions pumped out by an institute with a major line in Climate Alarmism?

Dr. Faucci is a big fan of Hillary Clinton's POWERING THROUGH a 2013 illness (not her 2016 "walking pneumonia"):

This man is serious about his GAINZZZZ:

Finally, another one of those Panic Texts that people are sending around:

panictexts

And now here's that guy turning crises into wonderful things:

5 people say there were weird pneumonia cases floating around in November and December. They imply that this was Covid19. If that was so... we should test these people and see if they had it. If they had it, they'll have the antibodies.

Couldn't it be that was just some random weird pneumonia-ish disease floating around that has NOTHING to do with Covid19?

Well. That's an excellent question.

The main thing I've learned so far is that nearly all the high end leather work done in northern Italy is now being done by Chinese slaves who have been flown into Italy to work by their Chinese slavemasters who bought the label from the Italians. The factories are kept in Italy to meet the country of origin requirements and to keep people paying for something made in Milan not Wuhan.

Over the last few years I've seen people in the fashion communities discussing how the labels are cheating the nation of origin and some sideways allusions that even if it says made in a country with a history of quality work, it may no longer be the case that the work is of high quality. It's clear now this is what was being referenced.

47 JJ had a link this morning to an article of 20 years ago. The article was re a ChiCom general who said they knew they had to fight the USA but could not succeed with force, they had to use bio weapons and were working on them.

It does not seem too much to think that a country with so little regard for life, that will harvest organs from its own people, would unleash a bio weapon in its own people to obscure an act of war.

It did not have to unleash the virus by covert operation, civilians distributed it. In the article, the General said China has population that needs space. He thought America, Canada or Australia would be suitable, but would have to be cleansed before colonization.

Read that and you almost have to be suspicious.

49 We actually suspect my dad might have had it (went to hospital Jan 27 and will come home next week). His symptoms were consistent with other reports - high fever, deep chest cough, needed to go on a ventilator, fluid in lungs, lung damage (he suffered a pneumothorax) - and he didn't test positive for flu A until he'd already been in the hospital for a couple of weeks. If the antibody test becomes available, I would think we'll request it because it would give us some peace of mind. (He has bone marrow cancer and lung disease and kidney disease. So yeah, at risk.)

I've said all along that the case count is way too low for Houston (still only 24 cases in Harris County), given our high Chinese population and travel back and forth. I think it's been here a while, but it just didn't get noticed.

51 If the NBA first case was before Nov 1 the virus took its time circulating among them. I'm hearing a lot of oh I had a cough for 2 weeks back in December. Yes, it could be that the virus was getting started in China back in Oct, that Wuhan was not even the epicenter but just the place that first had a doc warn his family and med school buddies.

But it seems foolish to go "oh we are fine, this virus went around this winter and was no big deal." There is too much concern about running out of ventilators from too many areas for me to believe this is just a nothing burger.

Posted by: PaleRider is simply irredeemable at March 20, 2020 08:29 PM (T9Hmo)

52 There were a coupe leaks at the Wuhan virus lab reported over the summer. Jennifer Zang translated and posted a few weeks back.

One involved bat blood, the other bat pee. In both cases at lease one person had to be quarantined. Now, considering that the Chinese regularly eat bats you would not think exposure would require quarantine,.......

..... unless the bats were part of experiments where they were infected with experimental viruses.

That is my theory, anyway.

In this scenario, the quarantined dudes did not get too sick, but infected others. The virus then bounced around Wuhan a few months until it exploded. Remember, in young it is often no worse than a cold. In the old it was easy to confuse with the flu.

We may never know since the lab records have all been scrubbed though, but a lot of Chinese are looking through old, innocuous reports from the past like the one above for clues.

They lied, they hid evidence, they shut down doctors online who tried to warn people, they destroyed lab data, and they knowingly allowed infected Chinese to travel the globe and spread this pestilence everywhere.

Now they're spinning their own corrupt shit, trying to put the blame on us? F*ck that. This is a Chinese virus, spread by China's stupid and criminally irresponsible actions. And there is not a damn thing wrong -- or raaaaaacist -- in saying that. In fact, it is stupid and wrong and irresponsible NOT to say it. It is truth. And truth must be spoken.

So I've had a hectic few weeks. Public health worker
in one of the epicenters of this whole shitshow. Worked almost nonstop
on it for around 10 days. Walked into a very uncomfortable situation.
Felt ill and got tested and been quarantined all week until it was
lifted today. Caught up with the world to see it done gone insane.

I
mostly think the panic is overblown, Americans are much healthier than
Chinese. The most worrisome part to me was the Chinese extreme reaction.
I get it could overwhelm the system and we need to get it under control
and take it seriously. But I don't know, it does seem like destroying
the economy is overreacting. I've been buying stock though, get some
more next week. Lotta good deals out there.

On the other hand the Democrat candidate-to-be is Droolin' Joe Biden, and the less the public sees of him the better off the Democrats are.

We're in the Houston metro area as well and we suspect that may be what Inspector (and possibly Eldest Kidlet) had in the middle of January. A bit of "ick" became pneumonia almost immediately (he's had it before, so is susceptible, but this was super fast) that didn't respond to even strong antibiotics. Needed steroids to really clear his lungs up and it's been a month since then with him not completely better. Eldest Kidlet says her lungs are still bothering her two months later, but she only took OTC medication (which may have been a poor choice on our part).

This is what they were afraid of - system buckling under pressure; not because of death necessarily, but for just basic testing, treatment and recovery. Especially local, smallish community hospitals, because they are not the mega Univeristy-well funded types. I can tell a story of community type hospital when in the middle of surgery a piece of equipment went out and a patient was kept under anesthesia for a bit longer, while somebody from surgical team "ran over" to a sister hospital for a working machine.

Azar also said there are resources - they (those hospitals that need them)are just not asking the proper people, using the right channels.

I remember that there was something nasty going around toward the end of last year. IIRC, I got something in December that was worse than usual (which generally means for me, not really all that bad). And one of my co-workers just absolutely got slammed by whatever it was. So yeah, I wonder if that was the Wuhan virus, particularly since the news has come out that this thing was in circulation in Wuhan back in November.

I'd really like to know what's going on in Wuhan right now. It's pretty clear that the communists are engaged in a full-scale cover-up right now. It'd be nice if we had a reliable way of publicizing the exact situation over there.

331 The author of a paper on Italy's corona virus crisis says general practitioners remember seeing strange pneumonia cases in December - even November - meaning the virus was circulating in parts of Italy before doctors were aware of the outbreak in China.

NPR says that? I'm calling bullshit right there. They're just trying to blunt people calling it "Chinese flu," that's all. (Also everybody remembers something significant in retrospect, once something has happened. Recall Laurence Tribe (/spit) saying Obama was his most brilliant student ever - the night before the election, not at the time Obama actually was his student, or shortly thereafter.)

NPR is militantly liberal, and is taking its cue from other liberals squawking about "Kung Flu" and such. Also signaling their virtue.

President Trump, I know you're desperately busy now, but when you get a chance, PLEASE pull the plug on PBS. Also Planned Parenthood. Thanks.

A lot of truckers do.

But in lean times, being able to find a place to resupply gets difficult, especially when you have a limited window to do so.

Company drivers, especially those starting out, don't make that much compared to the owner-operators.

Day-haulers or those with dedicated routes have more flexibility in their schedules.

Closing a rest stop is one less place to have to clean thoroughly . Although most of the ones on turnpikes, etc. are actually pretty clean.

Maybe they were unable to refill TP.

I can't imagine how difficult being a trucker right now is. They can't park at McDonalds, they can't walk up to a drive through, sit down restaurants are closed, rest stops are closed.

There was an article on supply chain inner workings at Conservative Treehouse the other day and a commenter placed his daily diary as a trucker in the comment section. It was eye opening what truckers go through on their two or three runs a day if they are local. 400 Just spoke to Nurse Daughter. Area hospitals are
running very low on masks. Some nurses are having to resort to wearing
bandanas. A doctor at Milwaukee Children's Hospital has tested positive,
potentially putting over 200 children at risk. She said "Mom, this is
very very bad. We don't have what we need to treat these patients
safely."

Posted by: grammie winger at March 20, 2020 08:43 PM (lwiT4)

This is what they were afraid of - system buckling under pressure;
not because of death necessarily, but for just basic testing, treatment
and recovery. Especially local, smallish community hospitals, because
they are not the mega Univeristy-well funded types. I can tell a story
of community type hospital when in the middle of surgery a piece of
equipment went out and a patient was kept under anesthesia for a bit
longer, while somebody from surgical team "ran over" to a sister
hospital for a working machine.

Azar also said there are resources - they (those hospitals that need
them)are just not asking the proper people, using the right channels.

Yeah, but that's at your own risk. If everyone had precise knowledge of who and how this affects people could self-quarantine and know to stop visiting their loved ones who are at risk. If you ignore the warnings and get sick, that's on you. I'm just saying, beyond a two-week "purse" we can't hide form the virus forever. Some over-29ers may recall, millennia ago, when Saturday Night Live (still funny and not politically cretinous) echoed national sentiment with a skit mocking the press for their questions during the first Gulf War.

There's a huge difference between "leading manufacturer" and "sole manufacturer", particularly when 3M (which is a massive conglomerate, with a bunch of different subsidiaries; the tape company Scotch is owned by 3M, for instance) is one of the reasons for that difference.

Any claims that China is the sole source of masks that can be used to stop the spread of the Wuhan virus are incorrect.

There's a huge difference between "leading manufacturer" and "sole
manufacturer", particularly when 3M (which is a massive conglomerate,
with a bunch of different subsidiaries; the tape company Scotch is owned
by 3M, for instance) is one of the reasons for that difference.

Any claims that China is the sole source of masks that can be used to stop the spread of the Wuhan virus are incorrect.

--------------

Meanwhile, VP Pence is touring 3M, and the company is talking about how its ramping up production of the masks that it makes. If China was cutting off all access world-wide to certain critical components, then ramping up production would be rather difficult to accomplish, particularly since access to Chinese goods was curtailed over a month ago (which China started shutting down pretty much all of its plants over virus fears).

There's a disconnect between what you're saying, and what's taking place.

541 The one issue I have consistently harped in my time here is the
need to get off Chinese crap and bring back American manufacturing. I
take a different approach than some in that I don't expect government to
fix this. Americans should demand high quality products, but they
don't.

Walmart devastated small town
business districts because the people that lived there opted for the
cheaper product. And when I say the cheaper product, I mean it. It is
throw away culture that did this to us.

I
have a filter Queen vacuum cleaner that is at least forty years old. It
is just one example of an American product that was made to last. Sure
you might have to change out a part or perform some maintenance, but it
lasts forever. How many people have vacuum cleaners that old and still
beat what is out there today?
That is one
example. Whenever we have replaced old appliances made in America, we
always ended up with something lesser and made as a disposable. For some
reason people go for the low initial price and ignore that they will be
dumping the thing in a few years for the latest "great deal".
I
saw a documentary on China years ago. They were talking about how so
many Chinese left the farms to work in factories that made random
trinkets for sale to the USA. The producer was surprised to hear the
workers thought so little of their American customers. The workers said
it showed decadence for people to waste their money on such crap.

590 "More: Italian doctors now say they were seeing "strange" pneumonia cases in December, even November, before anyone even heard of coronavirus."

I can attest to this, though I don't know for crap. I live in Australia and we did a long tour of the states starting in Mid Dec. We flew out early mid Dec, landed in fiji for 5 or so hours, flew to LAX, then drove through the southern states, LA, to Orlando via road trip.

My wife was barely mobile sick with fever in by time we got to west texas, she thinks she got it in vegas. I was sick by Louisiana, and then we were both miserable after we finished our road trip in chicago in early Jan. Both sick twice, both Unusually sick for us.

I don't get sick. I've had a fever from illness maybe 3 times in my life, and wife gets sick, but it's just that she's soft like that.

last month she said, "China's full of shit, maybe we got that shit in vegas." and we are wondering once people have chilled a bit to see if there is an ati-body test to see if we were sorta kinda early patient zeros.

609 Sorry folks but I just gotta vent... I started buying extra TP, wipes, and cleaning supplies about a couple of weeks before the SHTF. However, I guess I started too late and didn't buy enough. Now my husband is constantly criticizing me for not stocking up sooner and hounding me to buy all sorts of stuff online at exorbitant prices... and when I hesitate to do so (because I don't want to blow through our entire paycheck with two weeks to go before the next payday) he gets all pissed off and tells me that I'm a stupid bitch who's become impossible to live with. I'm trying really hard to remain calm through all this but it just seems like nothing I'm doing is right. Well, maybe I do deserve it for not prepping soon enough...

Just from talking with a neighbor, there was something odd going around here in northern DE in the late December - early January time period. I know in my own case it was common cold-like, but there was more coughing than normal for me and what was getting coughed up was more viscous than normal as well.

It could easily have been something that we (my wife and I) caught from our two grandkids, too, as they both are with us for one day each every week.

I think a broader span of testing, and at random, ought to be done.

614 About the virus being here since December:

My sister traveled from the west coast to visit my parents on the east coast around Dec 15, 5 days later she had what she thought was the Flu, high fever, dry cough and what not, it took her until almost Feb to get fully over it.

5 or so days after my sister starting feeling sick, and the day she came in contact with her. my mother got sick, symptoms weren't as bad, but she said she still had a dry cough into February.

At the same time as my mother was sick so was her tenant and a cousin, both went to the doctor and were told they didn't have the Flu, but something with the same symptoms (which now happen to be the same symptoms as Wuhan Flu)

All are now pretty convinced this is what they had (based on the fact the doctor ruled out common strains of the Flu for 2 people with it)

620 Well, we're being overrun by NY and CT plates here. Not as bad as what was reported in the NY Post about the Hamptons, but getting there.

It's like Spring Break for a couple of my neighbors. They arrived the other day from NYC and their three kids followed, along with five or six of their friends. Surf all day and party all night.

It's as if they think since they left the city they are safe. Meanwhile, they are only 15-20 miles away from the family that was devastated by the virus this week.
