The Morning Report - 2/14/20

carvbernth.jpg

Good morning, kids. The weekend is here so let's begin with the latest act of complete Democrat desperation, which is the attempt to smear AG William Barr as some sort of rogue conspirator of the President to either derail or blunt what is sure to be the long-awaited indictments of the real coup against Trump and the American people. Yes, I know, many of you have your doubts given all that has come to naught before. Also, you could say, and rightly so, that the Dems are just reflexively flailing about wildly a la replicant Pris shot by Deckard. But if you just go on the assumption that Barr and John Durham by their impanelling of a grand jury are serious, then the Democrats reaction makes even more sense. Personally I am hoping that they indeed are quaking in their boots and if Andrew McCabe should find himself cuffed and led off the CNN set on live TV for everyone in Terminal 5 at JFK to see, that would be satisfying enough for me. But let's not start tasting each other's nether regions just yet.

That said, the latest kerfluffle is over AG Barr's "rebuke" of the President's commenting about the outrageous sentencing of Roger Stone as supposedly interfering with his ability to do his, Barr's, job. Ace covered this yesterday but from my perspective, this too will come to naught. Meh, it could even be a head-fake to throw the Dems off the scent while the hammer falls on them from out of the blue. Whatever may or may not be happening between the President and the Attorney General, I think the salient point is the Democrat-Media Complex is in full attack mode as it is trying to destroy the man by labeling him Trump's "Incredible Two-Headed Transplant" of Roy Cohn and Lavrenty Beria, so for them to suddenly back up and say "hey, the President is interfering with the attorney general!" would be ludicrous in the extreme. Meanwhile, Deep State stooge and ex-chief of staff John Kelly is opening his pie hole to criticize the firing of lower-level termite Field Marshal Alexander Vindbreaker, to which PDT naturally retaliated, drawing John "Twain-face" Bolton into the fray to defend Kelly, calling on conservatives to reject Trump.

Look, after the beat down and subsequent grinding into the dirt of the Democrats after the failure of sham-peachment and their rutting monkey display of public masturbation and feces flinging at the SOTU speech, Malig-Nancy Pelosi and her minions would truly be certifiable to even talk about let alone go forward with more investigations and another round of sham-peachment over AG Barr doing his job. And yet, all signs indicate that that is exactly what they are going to do. The last thing the Dems need is for America to see the Democrats tear each other apart over which one is the least anti-American communist candidate. But, thankfully, I think it's too late for that, as we will explore in a minute.

Elsewhere, Mollie Hemingway dissects Chuck Todd's idiotic statement about FISA abuse and the thoroughly corrupted DoJ, while Margot Cleveland has a story on the continued persecution of General Michael Flynn. More and more, it is now evident that he was set up and taken out early because he was hell bent on day one of clearing out the Obama-Clinton nest of termites and traitors that have been eating away at the vitals of the administration. If there is justice, he will be fully exonerated and restored to his post as head of the NSA where he can preside over that agency's complete dismantling in Trump's second term. Seb Gorka underscores that with his call to weed out and completely eradicate every last Vindman. Make it so.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

I know it tales forever "to just get a hold on government", but outside of government, people as ineffective as the ones supposedly upholding out laws would be out on their asses.

Vindman has not been punished in anyway, just reassigned with a plum spot at the Army War College awaiting him.

Trump has made a lot of progress for the country, but he could make more if his DOJ would cooperate a little instead of letting these bastards get way with it, every single time.

The only one punished so far is "Reality Winner". In reality, the donks have committed crimes which have been treated like pranks.

One shocking thing about the impeachment saga is how many "Ukrainians" were setting America's Ukraine policy on behalf of the deep state. The question of dual loyalty would come up, except they obviously aren't loyal to the USA- or any other nation, for that matter. That Marine generals are busy defending these scumbuckets is deeply concerning. But then, the strength of the Marines isn't derived from their officers. It's mainly derived from their men.

But, as the controversy over Pettitt's interview reveals, these days being a "tradwife" is far worse.
This is yet another example of a trend in our society whereby beliefs
that were completely normal just a few decades ago are now considered "hateful." . .
For today's Twitter feminists, the most unpalatable part of Pettitt's
interview is probably the fact that she is happy and content in her
traditional gender role. Our cultural narrative around stay-at-home
motherhood is relentlessly negative. Books, movies, and TV shows
invariably depict them as bored and miserable.

Labeling "tradwife" as white supremacist Nazi talk is absolutely bonkers.

86 Next season, Star Trek Picard will do a storyline about infiltrator aliens who randomly throw molecular acid into the faces of passerbys at Starfleet headquarters, and then knife them. A connected subplot will reveal how some Federation leaders feel that these aliens are simply misunderstood and should not be prosecuted for their crimes. It ends with a season cliffhanger where an android is gangraped by the aliens while Starfleet security looks the other way and the Federation council retroactively busts Kirk to ensign for his many alien chick rapes.

I'd prefer if he seized Twitter, but you're right. To me, being ready to distill his position down to a tweet and sending it out shows that Trump is engaged on the issues. Remember that Bush the Lesser let the media set the pace on Abu Ghraib and Iraq more generally, and his limp responses led to a collapse in the Senate.

I'd like nothing better than Trump focusing purely on issues that actual Americans find important, but the only way to make those ideas dominate the official national conversation (they already dominate the conversation with actual supporters) is to seize part of the monolithic liberal media. We're not there, but give it time.

150 Sundance has great takes on Barr's and now McConnell's concern about Trump's tweets.

"McConnell says the President should listen to the Attorney General" and ignore the expectations of the American people who hired Trump to be brutally honest as an anti-politician and disruptive influence."

That's right. An anti-politician and a disrupter. That's why we hired him. Not a go-along get-along simp.

"Barr's intention may have been good (albeit selfish), but declaring that Trump's free speech and opinion as an impediment to Barr's ability is just nonsense."

"It is not President Trump tweeting that makes Barr's job more difficult; it is the DC beltway response and media apoplexy directed to the AG that makes things more difficult,"

So instead of attacking the media, Barr redirects to his President. How typical of our ingrained self-loathing and loser mentality. Trump is confronting a hardened Stockholm Syndrome on our side.

153 @111

With what we have witnessed and what has been exposed, it would appear the number of solid people Trump can count on inside and outside of Washington can be counted on one hand.

Also keep in mind, no one gets through without the imprimatur of the Senate and the political structure.

Case in point, after making Matt Whitaker acting AG, Trump nominated him for AG, Trump was told to go pound sand, mostly the GOP, that's when the uni-party GOP offered up William Barr as an acceptable AG.

So Trump can only get who can get through the uniparty.

That's why he had ridiculous goofballs like Kelly and Bolton, those are the men the uniparty is pushing at him.

I realize some of these jobs do not require confirmation but no one who is isn't part of the club is even going to be pushed for consideration by Trump.

Even G-d sends like Larry Kudlow, were part of the Reagan administration and are not outside the club.

So Trump is doing the best he can even while being rat fucked at every turn.

The new WW3 is about misinformation, economic influence, digital command and control, subversives in DC, and an unholy academia/government/corporate "industrial complex union.

Hard to put all those pieces together in one unified theory of cold war grifters versus Land of Liberty freedom fighters. Treating schemers like kids who need a time out or sending them where they can prepare for a big promotion (2025 is closer than you think) maybe expedient, but it just prepares the opposition and lets them hone their skills.

They market hatred and 24/7/365 agitation to pit Americans against one another. It's sickening. It's shameful. It's created mass insanity and mental instability. They peddle division and envy, and they'll tell any lie to get you to feel victimized. All they do is generate hatred. Amazing stuff.

Bingo.

The question is not the legality or even the propriety. The question or really really is does the President have the right to perform his legal duties without them being attacked as crimes, whether or not he chooses to publicly discuss them regardless of tone?

For starters? Those 17 instances of FISA court lyings? I'd arrest every person responsible for perjury, lying to the government, since it was a federal government judge.

I'd then offer them a deal. Seven years in prison if you take the deal. Nine years if you don't.

Same as Stone is facing for "lying to the government".

And that is above and beyond anything else I might have on them.

261 128 Jackstraw and others,
The Stone case can be considered ongoing only if you use the loosest definition. The jury has convicted, the judge is considering sentencing, the prosecutors WHO ARE EXEC. DEPT. EMPLOYEES engaged in lying or misleading to their DOJ Superiors as to Sentencing Recommendations.

Legally and morally, sentencing is very different than a trial. In a trial, the risk is that juries might be swayed by emotional appeals. In sentencing, by law and the U.S. Constitution itself, mitigating and aggravating factors come into play such as the severity of the offense, potential vengeful pursuit of a lengthy sentence by prosecutors to "send a message" which is both morally and legally impermissible, etc.

Now, the particular Judge in this case has demonstrated: hostility to the defendant, favored the prosecutors in jury selection, permitted a ridiculous number of similar charges against the defendant, refused to let Stone present a proper defense through thorough discovery, and has so far ignored direct testimony of Stone's alleged co conspirator that the government charge of tampering with a witness is bunk.

She has done similar favors for the deep state before in the Manafort case such as the ridiculous holding him in isolation cells.

She is dirty and I would suspect has conducted backchannel conversations ex parte with Deep State operatives for instructions.

Now, Trump could have politely given a statement directly to the Judge for sentencing and that would have promptly been put in file 13 by the media.

Instead, Judge Amy Berman Jackson's trial actions and her sentencing will be highlighted for her brethren on the bench in DC. She won't be able to hide because with the DOJ withdrawal of recommendations, she has no cover. The trial antics including the foreperson of the jury is now out there risking appellate overturn of the verdict.

Instead of a legal fight, Trump by twittering, changed it to a political fight in the best traditions of the law and he did so not to unjustly convict someone but to help alleviate the effects of an unjust prosecution and highlight the injustice of the Deep State.

His input into the sentencing is unorthodox but commonly used by defense lawyers themselves when an injustice is about to occur.

267 Barr needs to bring the evidence if he has indictments coming. Chastising POTUS as a political ploy is not his job. Does he strengthen his case by doing that? Or does he just make POTUS look like an obstacle?

I said the same yesterday, that at least Barr made himself look "independent", but if there is some Grand Plan ("trust the plan" is an old Qanon phrase) ... IF there is a grand plan, it is high time to roll out some indictments. We waited for Huber and others to "Bring It" ... and were disappointed.

I vaguely recall the book The Man that Never Was .. now we get The Plan that Never Was? idk, I still hope we make at least some incremental headway with at least a few convictions, but Barr playing against Trump as some savvy political ploy ... is a sign of weakness imo. Just bring the hard evidence, no apologies for Trump making life in the swamp hard by his brazen exposure of the DeepState. tick tock

269 I think the Barr-Trump tweet issue has an important subtext.

I think Trump is addressing a psychology of failure and fear of the media deeply rooted in the Right. Barr is manifesting this fear. This is why he went crying to the NY Times (the high priest of the establishment Left).

Trump's use of twitter is radical and profoundly upsetting to many on the Right captive to this fear of the media and Left. I hear constant references to the fear of giving the Left, democrats, media, "ammunition," as in anticipating the blizzard of consequences of the past when they would destroy us. But Trump is flipping that paradigm, mainly through his use of twitter, and it is very hard for some of us to absorb this.

We've been so conditioned to getting the shit beaten out of us.

The only answer is MORE. More, not less, twitter. Meanwhile, Barr can just deal with it. He'll never be a warrior in the vein we really need, but he may work out decently in the end.

She either must not live on the East Coast, can't sleep or is just in on fire to get prayers out because she poste them about 12:00 EST. She has prayers that don't even occur to me:

296 >>His input into the sentencing is unorthodox but commonly used by defense lawyers themselves when an injustice is about to occur.

An injustice was not about to occur. Barr had already made the decision to change the sentencing recommendation before Trump said anything. That's kind of the point. Let Barr handle it so as not to even given the appearance of political influence. We aren't trying to convince leftist activists we are trying to convince the majority of the country who really doesn't know what happened at all.

And the case is not over, it is right in the midst of the sentencing.

It really all comes down to what people want, a return to an impartial and functioning judicial system that is free from political influence or a take over of the judicial system by our team. I prefer the former, I don't want to live in an environment where the judicial system is a pawn of politics and swings back and forth depending on who is in office. I want an apolitical justice system that enforces the law equally.

I get that people want things to happen faster. I hear it hundreds of times a day every single day. Kind of hard to miss it. But I do think things are happening and have been all along. Do you know who hired Durham and started him investigating on the coup attempt? Hint, it wasn't Barr.

Reports of what Durham is up to were starting to break last night and the focus of his investigation appears to be Brennan and the CIA. I think he's going to deliver and after waiting for 3 years I think it will be delivered just as Barr said it would this spring and into the summer.

297 @267

There should have been rolling, ongoing arrests from the day the first IG reports dropped and subsequent reports.

But there weren't.

And the idea that on or about June time frame that Barr/Durham are going to release a report and blow the lid off of this thing is ludicrous.

How's it going to look if there are mass indictments of up to two dozen coup plotters at the same time?

THAT, would look political as hell.

No, the way it should have been done, is you indict Strozk, Page, Gates, et al when that IG report was released.

You indict McCabe, et al when that report was released.

You indict Comey when his report was released.

You indict everyone responisble for the 17 lies told to the FISA court when that report is released.

But somehow, in an election year, 6 months before the election, we are going to have mass indictments of the coup plotters?

Really?

I agree that Sessions was a failure, maybe more than that. But Huber was allowed to go ahead and exonerate Hillary under Barr.

So, "Lock her up", email-gate, Uranium One and the Clinton Foundation scandals are all brushed aside and considered conspiracy theories, courtesy of the Trump DOJ.

I want to see action by Barr before I put him in a different category from Sessions. As it is, ending the Mueller sham seems to be a sort of quid pro quo for Huber's cover up of Hillary and not a valiant effort.
