| The Morning Report - 2/11/20![]() ... As described by the hysterical media, you would think that President Trump had "settled all family business" in the manner portrayed in The Godfather's climactic scene, in which Michael Corleone has the heads of New York's five Mafia families whacked. But the truth is altogether to the contrary. In May of this year, Alexander Vindman will enroll in the Army War College. This is a highly sought and selective program and a singular opportunity to advance one's military career. It is open only to the favored few who are being groomed for top leadership positions in the military. As for Sondland, he is a hotel magnate who was a big contributor to Trump's 2016 campaign. Recalling him is not the equivalent of terminating the livelihood of a career State Department official. Sondland can go back to his day job of running his hotel empire. And since the Obama regime is no longer in charge, he can do so without fear of the IRS auditing his company, OSHA inspecting his hotels, and ICE vetting his employees. As retaliation goes, removing the Vindmans from the National Security Council and stripping Sondland of his ambassadorship is pretty weak stuff. Which raises the troubling question as to whether or not such pallid measures will be enough to deter others who may wish to emulate Sondland and the Vindman twins in any future coup attempt... ... Since the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result, you can count on the Democrats again impeaching Trump at least once between now and the November election. That is why President Trump should seriously consider taking firm and decisive punitive action to discourage all deep-state partisans from promoting yet another impeachment hoax. In that regard, he has a positive obligation to the nation to make clear to one and all that they will pay a heavy price if they meretriciously participate in any future attempted coup...Well, what can the President really do especially in light of the fact that the bureaucracy generally protects its own where and when it can? Since said bureaucracy itself is more than likely 90% Democrat-Globalist and anti-Trump in the extreme, the odds of Trump using them like Obama used the IRS for example are slim and none, as Parry points out. Again, it's an off-shoot of the now undeniable fact that we have two systems of justice in America; one for the ruling power elite and one for the rest of us that ensures that the former's status as a ruling elite is never challenged. And that, more or less, encapsulates what the past four years was all about.

Of course Soros isn't building his own university - he's creating a program that will be run out of *our* universities, like Confucius centers burrowing into out universities like tick:
The Open Society University Network, or OSUN, will "integrate teaching and research across higher education institutions worldwide,"while providing courses and joint degree programs and putting students and faculty from different countries together by way of in-person and online discussions, according to his philanthropic piggybank, the Open Society Foundations (OSF). OSUN will supposedly provide an international platform for teaching and research and will be launched by a partnership of the Soros-founded Central European University (CEU) and Bard College of Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. CEU and Bard will, in turn, work with distance learning-focused Arizona State University, and other schools such as American University of Central Asia in Kyrgyzstan and BRAC University in Bangladesh. Could Judd Aptow BE any less self-aware?
AXELROD: . . . And sometimes I wonder whether Hollywood is --- in terms of the cause of making a case against the president --- helpful or hurtful in that regard. APATOW: Well, there's clearly a very big disconnect in thinking, and we're all trying to understand why that is. For instance, I always think, 'Why does anybody think Donald Trump has their back?' Like, do they think he's really up late at night trying to solve your problems? His heart aches for your situation? And, so, as a Democrat, one of the things we do is, if somebody's awful, we make fun of them, because we don't want people to be awful and people of every ideology do that, and he certainly deserves it . . . [Donald Trump] certainly has amazing instincts as a communicator. He truly understands flooding the zone, and what I always wondered --- and I'm sure one day we'll find out --- is, how much of his style of communication is something that he understands? - - - First, last , always, the Left talks about messaging and the narrative blah blah blah. It's never that they have the wrong policy, they just didn't 'tell a compelling story' to sell it to the people. Also: Trump is so dumb he doesn't even understand how he stumbled upon an effective style of communication. Yeah, THAT's it! Posted by: Lizzy at February 11, 2020 08:44 AM (bDqIh) 173

Well, what can the President really do especially in light of the fact
that the bureaucracy generally protects its own where and when it can? While government employees can't be fired they can be transferred to other locations and given other assignments. There are many prime locations available for seditious bastards; Gila monsters need up close and personal inspection in Death Valley. The State Department - above all else - needs to be decentralized out of Washington D.C. The Country is too vulnerable to attack with them in the same place as the rest of the government. Perhaps moving parts of them to the Big Bend national park, and part to Puerto Rico, some to a choice assignment in the Alaskan Tundra, others to the land in Wyoming that the indigenous Indians called "Auuuugggghhh". In addition, their reliance on fragile electronic communications and computers needs to be ended. They need to deliver, hand written or typed on mechanical typewriters, internal memos by diplomatic couriers on bicycles or rowboats, to insure they can continue to provide their essential government services in a post nuclear environment. A decent guy who is so deep in his Christian faith, to the point of not even wanting to be out with another female without his wife...that guy? A dog? Uh, okay. Posted by: Mr. Scott (Formerly GWS) at February 11, 2020 09:17 AM (JUOKG) A refrain I keep restating about Pence, because it seems many still do not "get it" - Pence makes statements all the time, Pence campaigns weekly with different groups in different places. The MSM hates Pence, but they cannot find a way to attack him, so there is a deliberate and concerted embargo by the MSM on everyone he says and does. THAT is why you do not "hear" statements from him - the MSM blacks out everything he does, everything he says. Pence just keeps on doing what he does. Except for those times when a President has died in office, it's actually always been quite rare for a VP to become President. _______ A good read, thanks J.J.! Got a chuckle out of the author, Scott McKay, referring to Mini Micro Bloomberg as "Little Gulp." He makes a good point I'd not previously heard -- that "running Bernie means not only getting boat-raced by Trump but getting saddled with countless liabilities in local and state party organizations when the Sanders campaign installs them once he's nominated." Or as he explains in a link to his January column "Why the Dems Screwed Bernie and Need to Do It Again" -- "If the Democrats allowed Sanders' people to become their people, what it will mean is every state party organization will then contain Jureks, Weissgerbers, and Hodgkinsons in droves. That's what happens when a candidate becomes a nominee. And it isn't easy to root those people out once they're in, which means they're not just losing to Trump, they're losing races all the way down to elections for Congress and even state legislatures for years to come. I get it. Until yesterday nobody from the NSC was being punished. Then 70 were all at once. Kind of a big number that seems to have generated a pretty lukewarm reaction. I doubt that process started after the impeachment sham and I also doubt that they weren't watching these people for a long time to see who exactly was involved. It would be great if the DOJ published a timeline and gave us daily reports of what they are doing but that's not how it works. Not in properly functioning DOJ that doesn't leak and do it's business in the media. All we get are peaks at what is going on behind the scenes and you have to try and piece together what is happening from that. And then you have to rely on the people doing the jobs. You either believe that Trump has got this or that he is being led around by the people he chose to get to the bottom of this corruption and the corruption goes very, very deep. I've been pretty consistent that I didn't think we would start to see real action until after the investigations and impeachment of Trump were over so I'm not real moved by the constant claim of why isn't it happening NOW! I think yesterday was a nice opening salvo to what I expect will be Trump's response. Posted by: JackStraw at February 11, 2020 09:31 AM (ZLI7S) 342

In Portland, the police refusing to help victims of Antifa violence is like in the Old South when the law looked the other way when blacks were lynched. There should be a lawsuit finding out who gave the order to let Antifa run amok and who gave the order to let bystanders be assaulted while the police stood by. I hope the jury would find the city and police at least 1% liable and since they have the deep pockets, and what happened was an affront, punitive damages would be awarded. One can dream.
