Ace's fantasy is to be a sailor on a mighty warship that gets washed overboard and rescued by the U-69, a pirate submarine crewed entirely by lithesome Teutonic beauties. Cruising the tropics in sweltering heat, he learns their language and teaches each of the young ladies about love and desire. Sometimes several at once. I don't know. I recently watched a couple Fantasy Island episodes with Ricardo Montalban, and they were kinda dark.
Loved that show as a kid - so did my dad and my grandma. And yeah - they went places shows are too scared to go now. A common theme was giving people exactly what they wanted - until they begged for no more of it. Honestly - a pretty good take on things if you ask me. Don't plan on watching this new one. And not because of the black chic - just because I'm not gonna' sit there and watch them ruin another old piece of nostalgia for me. I don't know who the actress would be - but if there's a black actress that could emulate Ikora from Destiny - she'd be the bees knees running Fantasy Island. "Despite Americans' concerns that the economic system favors the wealthy, the latest Post-ABC poll finds that" ------- Uh-huh. Doesn't matter what system you're in - the wealthyhave been, by definition, favored by it. Whether the system rewards hard work and ingenuity or Party membership, it favors the wealthy by giving them wealth. But I do get the sentiment, though in a far different way than the ABC asspounding butt-pirate pollster would like. I think the American political system so strongly favors the incumbent crony capitalist, Statist lapdog that the economic system has come to resemble the latter more than the former. If you guys haven't gotten "Shudder" yet, they have "Tourist Trap" on it.
1. The prints Shudder gets are amazing. If you saw your '70s and '80s horror on grainy VHS (or Beta!) playing on a 19" screen, you won't believe the stuff you couldn't make out back then that now works. (TCSM, for example, was just blurry blobs in the dark.) 2. Joe Bob Briggs hosts "Tourist Trap", so you can watch his commentary (optional) and he is a huge Chuck Connors fan, and a fan of the movie. All kinds of interesting tidbits. (There's also a Rifftrax of "Tourist Trap" which has some funny moments.) Posted by: moviegique at January 27, 2020 07:12 PM (oRIVo) 258

Parents are trying to figure out if autopsies are being performed or if they have been buried. Both familes said the doctors have never seen anything like it before. I guess it depends on how serious the CDC is taking things, and the fact the Hong Kong data release during press conference is being ignored and flights are still allowed out of China into the country, I'd say we aren't taking it serious like the Hong Kong Scientists said we should locally and globally. OT, but I want to comment on the last post.
First of all, ABC/WaPo has always been a heavy skew Dem poll. They had some polls with Hillary winning by double digits. If Trump is statistically tied, then that is very bad news for the Dems. Second, the entire "Trump is tied/Trump is in trouble" narrative just doesn't pass the smell test. Compare, in 2016 the Dems were running their best candidate. While her problems were many, she was the best they could field because she did bring in key Dem constituencies like feminists. Trump was an unknown and many suspected a potential RINO. Fast forward to now. Trump is a known quantity, the country is better off than 4 years ago by every measure, the voters are giving Trump the credit for it, and not a single Dem candidate is better than the one that lost to Trump previously. Yet they want us to believe that voters are going to vote against Trump this time because he tweets, and might have wanted Biden's corruption investigated? It defies logic. Oldish shows ? I am partial to Bob Newhart. Don't know why....Hope some a-holes don't turn it into a horror flick.

65 Interesting. I saw The Gentlemen over the weekend, thought it was awesome. If you like Guy Ritchie you will love this movie. Hugh Grant is not 'starring' in the movie but he is the key and quite fabulous.Posted by: motionview at January 27, 2020 06:44 PM (pYQR/)
