Joe Biden Sternly Warns Compliant Media Not to Report On His or His Son's Involvement in Corruption

And of course the Brave Firefighters tipped their fedoras.

John Solomon rebuts the Instruction Manual that Joe Biden gave to his media enablers:

Fact: Joe Bden admitted to forcing Shokin's firing in March 2016.

It is irrefutable, and not a conspiracy theory, that Joe Biden bragged in this 2018 speech to a foreign policy group that he threatened in March 2016 to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid to Kiev if then-Ukraine’s president Petro Poroshenko didn't immediately fire Shokin.

"I said, 'You're not getting the billion.' I'm going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: 'I'm leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,'" Biden told the 2018 audience in recounting what he told Poroshenko

"Well, son of a bitch, he got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time,: Biden told the Council on Foreign Relations event.

Fact: Shokin's prosecutors were actively investigating Burisma when he was fired.

While some news organizations cited by the Biden memo have reported the investigation was "dormant" in March 2016, official files released by the Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office, in fact, show there was substantial investigative activity in the weeks just before Joe Biden forced Shokin's firing.

The corruption investigations into Burisma and its founder began in 2014. Around the same time, Hunter Biden and his U.S. business partner Devon Archer were added to Burisma's board, and their Rosemont Seneca Bohais firm began receiving regular $166,666 monthly payments, which totaled nearly $2 million a year. Both banks records seized by the FBI in America and Burisma’s own ledgers in Ukraine confirm these payments.

...

Fact: Burisma's lawyers in 2016 were pressing U.S. and Ukrainian authorities to end the corruption investigations.

Burisma's main U.S. lawyer John Buretta acknowledged in this February 2017 interview with a Ukraine newspaper that the company remained under investigation in 2016, until he negotiated for one case to be dismissed and the other to be settled by payment of a large tax penalty.

Documents released under an open records lawsuit show Burisma legal team was pressuring the State Department in February 2016 to end the corruption allegations against the gas firm and specifically invoked Hunter Biden’s name as part of the campaign. You can read those documents here.

In addition, immediately after Joe Biden succeeded in getting Shokin ousted, Burisma's lawyers sought to meet with his successor as chief prosecutor to settle the case.

Read the whole thing, to see what the media dutifully claims to be a "debunked" "conspiracy theory."

A couple of days ago, a surrogate for Bernie Sanders -- Zephyr Teachout -- wrote that Joe Biden was corrupt.

The op-ed, written by Zephyr Teachout and published on Monday in The Guardian, argued that Biden's "record represents the transactional, grossly corrupt culture in Washington that long precedes Trump" and would give Trump the "perfect foil."

The weakling Bernie Sanders immediately apologized and denounced this mention of the truth.

Today, Sundown Joe got into a reporter's face for asking about why he was still "attacking" Sanders even after this very c**kish apology.

In the federal government, the fiscal year (fy) runs from October 1 through
September 30 of the following year. On October 1, 2016, the 2017 fy
began. It was still fy 2017 on January 20, 2017, when Trump was
inaugurated. Between the 2026 election and the 2017 inauguration, the
Obama administration spent nearly the entire fy 2017 National Security
Council budget, thereby preventing Trump from being able to bring his
own people aboard, at least until November 2017.

This is from a federal employee and it explains a lot about why Trump was essentially hamstrung with his landing parties.

I want Ukraine to detonate. It will blow up on *everyone* - Democrat and Republican alike. From the bits that have been leaking out, the parts that are actually known, some of the congruencies, etc., it appears that Ukraine has been used as a corrupt money laundry for a lot of the Swamp, regardless of affiliation.

I know that there are many Ukraines out there, but it must begin somewhere. I hope it all comes out and that the blowback is extreme and that a whole lot of people end up frog-marched off to prison in orange jumpsuits.

And while I'm sitting here hoping for the impossible, I'll also take a Maserati Quattroporte and an evening with Christina Hendricks.

199 MSNBC/CNN coverage is based on Trump being guilty. Everything yesterday and today is: Why can't moderate Republicans see the light, abandon mere party interests, and do what's right for the country and our grandchildren?!?!

The MFM loves this entire impeachment show being put on by the Dems. They are not constrained to talk about the defendant's ALLEGED crimes, as for all other judicial proceedings. Here, they can do what they'd like to do in all trials: Openly try and convict the defendant, both before the real trial begins and while that trial is in progress.

Yes, you are right, but consider - Bloomie already knows that he can't win the Dem nomination, but he's still spending incredible amounts of money. He's only up to 5% with Dem voters for all of that. He'll never get Bernie and Lizzie's voters no matter how much he spends, the rad left hates him. And he's not gonna take Biden's voters away, and Bloomie has got no draw with minority voters of any kind. So how is he going to win the nomination? Well clearly he isn't, and even though I strongly dislike him, he's not stupid, obviously he knows that.

So why is he spending so much money? Why is he still building a national campaign? I'll guarantee you that it isn't for a race that he already knows he's lost.

My late great part-Maine Coon Arizona lived to be 16.5 years old, and I'd adopted him from the SPCA when he was about the same age as your pup. In his last 2 years he'd been sick off and on, first fatty liver disease, then diabetes (I never thought I'd be able to give him insulin injections, but it worked out fine). At last a tumor developed in his skull, and he stopped eating. At the vet that last evening, he turned his big shaggy head and growled -- at her. Courage and nerve to the last.

I'd lost pets before, sure, but their passing had always been "offstage," so to speak. I'd never been right there before. I'm glad I was with him to the end.

His ashes I sprinkled up in Winter Park, CO. I figured he thought he should have been a bobcat, and somebody at the Cat Factory made a mistake. To this day I remember him -- not in some idealized fashion, but as he was: occasionally cantankerous, defensive around strangers, but quietly affectionate with me.

You should do your pup the same honor.

Perot was nothing more than a deliberate, oversized campaign donation to Bill Clinton, designed to poach working class Republicans tired of the Free Trade Globalist status quo, and nullify their votes.

Why am I so sure of this? Because as soon as polls showed him having a serious chance to win, he withdrew. As soon as the Republicans started gaining, he jumped back in.

He never intended to win.

yeah maybe but honestly I don't think anyone is biting. why would the Right bother with that weirdness with the Dems digging themselves a giant hole constantly, all on their own?!?

we just stay out of their way and let them let THEIR freak flags fly. keep on keepin on

eventually tho the left will find some fake-ass Moby to push it and claim to be on the right, I guess. we might want to get ahead of THAT

but honestly it is too pat a story and sounds too much like creepy pasta and other older stories - it's too obviously fake - it won't fly it will have to just live on on 8chan or something

Posted by: joe, living dangerously at January 22, 2020 03:23 PM

This is very true and heartening. If you lurk on Democratic Underground, you'll see all three groups sniping at each other. The left is not nearly as united as they let on. In 2016, a large chunk of Bernie backers bailed on Hillary for being corrupt, or because they felt the DNC rigged the primaries for her, and Hillary supporting women were viscous towards Bernie and his "Bros" for being insufficiently supportive.

Warren now backstabbing Bernie with the sexism charge, and then Hillary piling on with the accusation Bernie tanked her campaign, shows it's coming up again. Hopefully it'll last all the way to November, and the Dems will be in ruins after the election.

Both schiff and nadler claim they have a rock solid case to remove the President based on the evidence they have. They have not articulated what criminal statute he violated, but their evidence is overwhelming and Trump must be removed or the Republic is doomed.

In the meantime they are calling for more witness testimony to "prove" that Trump is corrupt even though they have already stated they have all the evidence they need to convict and remove him.

That's some serious a$$ pretzel logic thought processes going on there.

Biden's camp did a video on the "6 hours I'm taking off" threat, and truth be told, it wasn't bad. Slick video, coherent story. Problem is, the truth wasn't told but because it was packaged well, the media/Left will accept it at face value. The key thing is, the investigation was not dormant when Biden made this demand, but instead had just started gearing up again after a hiatus.

The prosecuted Biden sought to oust seems like a bad person. But there are few if any people in power over there who are clean. The fact is, the prosecutor was going to uncover Burisma dirt, and Biden could not abide that. So he made a very clear demand, while retaining plausible deniability about protecting his loin-spawn.

333 Does anyone doubt that Schiff knows exactly what's in the zilllion pages of documents he wants the Senate to subpoena, and what Bolton and his other requested witnesses will say on this subject? There must be many Eric Ciaramella-types in the several agencies who have leaked everything to Schiff.

I think the main purpose of the current charade is simply to open-up the Trump files, and question Boilton, Mulvaney, and others, to dig for political dirt and for leads on other "crimes" to use to impeach PDT.

And if they can establish a precedent for the House using a Senate impeachment trial to over-ride Executive Privilege, they will be in hog heaven, so to speak.

Why is Schiff talking in the Senate?

The House impeachment managers act as the prosecutors presenting the House's case to the Senate.

Posted by: Bandersnatch, from the 70s at January 22, 2020 03:50 PM (gd9RK)

The thing that irks me is that from what I can tell they know the case they presented in the file delivered during the March of the Penguins is a stone cold loser, so now they are just throwing shit on the wall and pulling a Kavanaugh

The prosecution (House Democrats) have 24 hrs. over three days to make their case, the President's lawyers then have 24 hrs. over three days to rebut, then the senate has 16 hours for questioning. Then they can take up any questions of whether to call additional witness to be deposed first.

So of course they are praying and spraying right now - with the Schiff-Show of a case that they have do you honestly expect them to fill 24 hrs. with what they actually have in support of their two charges?

Whatever you get, you should try to calibrate it, somehow. Take it to a couple of drugstores and use both it and the drugstore's free BP tester, and see what the differences are. You can adjust your home monitor's readings accordingly (on paper). Or go to a free clinic and get them to read your BP and see how your home monitor compares.

Not required, but if your BP is critical to your health, you don't want an incorrect measurement.

394 OT-So I had a lovely belated birthday lunch from my dear friend who also gave me a coupon for a massage and a contribution to my son's college book fund. I try to stay away from politics because her kids both work for Democrats in some fashion. I did, however, tell her that Bernie Sanders' staffers were both caught on tape advocating violence towards Trumps voters and putting them in concentration camps. She said airily, "I don't pay any attention to either really pro or negative Trump stuff. I just like to get my news from organizations which fact check carefully to get at the real truth." And who would that be? I asked. Her response: "WaPO and the NYT." Sigh. After that, there wasn't much I could say, so we went on to discussing the British royal family.

In a couple days when the GOP presents their case. This is like the part of the trial where the prosecutor lies and makes crap up to convict someone, and the Defense has to wait their turn.

401 And every minute this drags on, is another minute Cocaine Mitch has to fuck up and lose control.

And spare me about how they don't have the numbers to convict.

Because according to prognostications, this was never even supposed to have been brought to the floor in the house.

Then, it would never be voted on.

Then Nancy would kill it.

Then it would never be transmitted to the Senate.

Yet here we are. In the actual conviction and removal phase.

Of something that wasn't supposed to happen.

O/T I'll probably ask this in a few assorted threads, but I wanted to

know if any of you fine people have a good recommendation for an at-home

blood pressure monitor? An arm cuff kind, not wrist. And one for a

small person. I'm only 100lbs, so gorilla-sized arm cuffs aren't for me.

I had a 174/100 reading today and now I have to monitor myself.

A lot of the problem has been that Trump, under the advisement of certain assholes on his staff, failed to fire everyone (EVERYONE) from the former administration when he came into office.

I am not kidding when I said he should have gone to the comments section of right wing blogs and offered jobs to people he knew would be dependable regardless of their lack of experience in government.

What this country need most of all is people in decision making positions in government who have never been in government before.

Ace should make this a "thing".

Team with other Trump friendly blogs and make a database of proven loyalist to fill out the government in the second term.
