The Morning Report - 1/13/20

iranaboutth.jpg

Good morning kids. Start of a new week and the big news is the Democrat-Media Complex once again with egg on its collective face in its reactions to the President's taking out of Queso Salamander. A majority of Americans saw through the shameless and insane attempt to whitewash the decades-long body count of Iran's bloody terror mastermind, who is responsible for killing or maiming hundreds of American soldiers and other innocent civilians, as did evidently the Iranian and Iraqi people who have been under the mullahs' jackboot. Another wave of anti-regime protests has broken out and continues to rage within that county, the flashpoint being the shooting down of the Ukrainian airliner. The protesters are demanding that the regime leadership step down immediately. It should also be noted that unlike American college campuses and Democrat political rallies and national conventions, the Iranian people refused to walk over or burn American and Israeli flags. Speaking of the Ukrainian airliner shoot-down, after the Left outrageously blamed the President, a Farsi military bigwig shot down that bromide by bragging that field commanders had unilateral authority to fire first and ask questions later. On the diplomatic front, the President has openly warned the regime of repercussions should they attempt to violently suppress the protests, as they did a few weeks ago that resulted in at least 1,000 Iranian civilian protesters being killed at the hands of the regime. And unlike 11 years ago, when similar protests threatened to topple the regime, our President is now taking a firm stand on the side of freedom. Treasury Secretary Mnuchin has announced even more sanctions against the regime.

Funny how just a few short days ago, the Left was going insane with talk that the President was insane and might have touched off World War 3 or at least rallied the Iranian people against the US. Nothing but crickets as the reality of the situation on the ground is out plain as day for the world to see. Absolutely disgusting on their part.. Equally disgusting is, after first blasting Trump for daring to suggest that the Nuke Deal Sellout JCPOA and pallets of cash had nothing to do with terror and/or rocket attacks, John Kerry, who is the poster boy for everything wrong about globalism/elitism/Leftism had the gall to now try to soft-sell the money that he and Obama forked over. Not that I have any confidence it will happen but a Bushie who served on his NSC is calling for an investigation into Obama's dealings with Soleimani. Also, Rabbi Fischer ponders the consequences if one or all of Iran's oil refineries were to go poof and Roger Kimball rips into the lying liars who lie about the President, despite confidence that he will indeed have the last laugh.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

94 Life would be so great here if it weren't for ignorant, totalitarian American leftists.

I often wonder what America would be like had our enemies not attacked us from within. How much more prosperous and advanced would we be if we were left to our Principles of freedom for all? What type of nation would we be if we, say, refused to kill babies in the womb? If we could develop our energy resources fully? If our schools taught truth, America freedom and encouraged true independent thought and personal responsibility?

Would we have open Communists in our own Congress? Would we have a Deep State that seeks to turn us into yet another failed socialist state? Would we see through our domestic enemies' lies more readily?

105 A Coral Gables (Florida) indie theater, called the Coral Gables Art Cinema, which didn't exist when I lived not so far away but Miami changes fast, has got itself in trouble. It rented itself out to a movie company for a free publicity screening of a documentary of some sort on the railroading of George Zimmerman (who sounds a little nuts frankly) in the Trayvon Martin case. After signing the contract, the theater realized what the film would be about and cancelled the deal. They are getting sued for their trouble. THis will be interesting.

From past history, this is almost certainly the work of the Pakistani ISI, (intelligence services) and it means they're finally getting sick of some of the clowns in the Taliban that have been camping out in Pakistan for years. The Pakistani ISI created them from the start, they can eliminate them whenever they want. They always could have.

"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say goodbye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? After all, you knew ahead of time that those bluecaps were out at night for no good purpose. And you could be sure ahead of time that you'd be cracking the skull of a cutthroat."

197 More Warren doing her best to earn her LGBTQIA++ donor respect:
Warren has posted a detailed plan for "Securing LGBTQ+ Rights and
Equality" if she is elected president. The plan includes many provision
for transgender youth.

"We need a president who will life up the voices of every gay,
lesbian, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, queer, Two-Spirt and
intersex person. We need a president who has the courage to stand up to discrimination, and fight back. We can't wait for Congress to act on LGBTQ+ rights. In my
first 100 days as president, I will use every legal tool we have to
make sure that LGBTQ+ people can live and thrive free from
discrimination"

Warren also vowed to bring her battle for the rights of transgenders
into schools---where it will effect such things as "dress codes" and "bringing same-sex partners to school events."

Of all the things to make your top priority as president, this is a particularly narrow focus, eh? Why is it in the POTUS's purvey to make sure an LGBTQ teen can bring a same-sex partner to the prom? Wow.

Former President Barack Obama's 2012 campaign manager, Jim Messina, has a
message for Democrats seeking to dethrone President Donald Trump in
2020: don't nominate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

"If I were a campaign manager for Donald Trump and I look at the field, I
would very much want to run against Bernie Sanders," Messina said. "I
think the contrast is the best. He can say, 'I'm a business guy, the
economy's good and this guy's a socialist.' I think that contrast for
Trump is likely one that he'd be excited about in a way that he wouldn't
be as excited about Biden or potentially Mayor Pete or some of the more
Midwestern moderate candidates."

And then this: Messina hasn't declared a preference in the 2020 primaries, but his wife reportedly works for former Vice President Joe Biden.

The men were between 20 and 42 years of age and had contacted weapons dealers, rented a large truck and gathered money for the attack, $22,000 of which was seized in the raid. They had even committed a crime to get money for their evil plan.

No duh. This is one of the intractable problems with law. Consciously or not, everyone does a cost/benefit analysis of the crime they're committing. Once you commit to committing the most egregious crime we have - murder - further crime has no marginal cost. If you're committed to murder, the state can only give you the ultimate punishment (whatever that may be) once. You are but one man. They can only lock you up once at a time or kill you once. Therefore, once your mind is fixed on murder, all other crimes you commit in the pursuit of murder are free. They make no difference to your final outcome.

the Big Problem with that theory - Barr is now Trump's top guy, second only to Pompeo, who handles external. Barr handles internal, mostly. If Barr is on the other side, then either Trump is as well, or Trump is a great fool.

I do not believe either of those things to be true, which is one reason I think Barr is not the "traitor" Sundance thinks it is. Trump, and then Barr, both have the same problem - how do you turn around a huge enterprise make of thousands and thousand of individuals, 90% of whom are dead set against you and dedicated towards ruining everything you do? How much work does it get to take a case to court when you know that all of the Judges and Juries you face will instantly toss it out if they find even a single spelling error in the documents you file? Yes, yes, go on about double standards in the law. Well it's the reality we face, and it will take years and years of personnel turnover before that ever changes.

Plus, the monarchy does little in terms of actually running the nation, functioning as a big place for money to just go in Britain.

I think they'd be better off without the monarchy.

321 Pelosi and the Dems just look pathetic. All they ever wanted to do was to damage Trump with the voters so that they won't vote for an impeached president.
And if he gets re-elected they will try to use this as a way of not letting him appoint someone to the SCOTUS.
Posted by: redridinghood

Which is a joke. Because if Trump, as an impeached president gets re-elected, he can rightfully claim he has a MANDATE. .

335 I do not believe either of those things to be true, which is one reason I think Barr is not the "traitor" Sundance thinks it is.

Dolley called it the worst movie she'd ever seen (I guess it supplanted Drive in her mind).

I liked it. It got too involved in the details of the cult, losing the thread for stretches, but the undercurrent thread of Dani's emotional journey is strong enough to pull it all together in the end.

It's also pretty much the exact same ending as Hereditary, which was kinda weird.

Yeah, it's probably both. It appears they don't like the way he has disrespected the queen, or the high-handed way he treated his brother and his father, both of whom have always supported and defended him.

They probably also think Harry is acting like a fool, given that before she met Harry, Markle made it known to quite a few people that she was in the U.K. to find herself a celebrity husband because she wanted to marry her way into a reality t.v. show and Kardashian-style riches. She's a climber and a user, and Harry was a dope to ignore all the warning signs, including his own brother's words urging him to get to know Markle better before rushing into marriage with her.

The House has the sole authority over impeachments, to wit, they open an inquiry, gather evidence and testimony, advance articles out of committee and vote on them in the house.

The Senate has the sole authority over trials, to wit, they receive the articles, they hear testimony regarding the facts from both sides and then vote either to convict or acquit.

This bullshit about gathering more "facts" and hearing from witnesses is fucking bullshit and ahistorical.

More fact gathering at the trial means the articles where deficient of sufficient cause to advance them.
