Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Democrats Unveil Two Frivolous, Focus-Grouped Articles of Fake ImpeachmentDavid French hardest hit. She was holding out for a million. One for every tear Trump has made her cry! The term the Democrats found tested best with focus groups -- "bribery" -- is absent from the articles of fake impeachment. I guess it doesn't play in Peoria. Oh, and as mentioned in the sidebar: CNN has a tearjerker report that James Comey's mother-in-law fears for his legal peril, because Trump calls him (accurately) a dirty cop. Former FBI Director James Comey defended the FBI and ripped President Donald Trump's constant criticisms of the agency, detailing how worried they had made his family -- even convincing Comey's mother-in-law that he was going to jail. The interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper on "Anderson Cooper 360" came the same days as the release of a highly anticipated report by the Justice Department's inspector general that established that the FBI properly opened its investigation into Russian interference during the 2016 election but said there were major errors in how the agency conducted the probe.F*** your whore mother in law, Comey. You need to be someone's prison bitch. Text of the Two Articles of Impeachment: 1) OrangeManBad was elected in 2016. 2) OrangeManBad will get reelected in 2020.From The ABC of History. Ad much as DC does not want to admit it, Constitution DOES have very specific rules on Impeachment.
Please point out where Abuse of Power, is a crime? And please point out how Defending yourself against fake allegations, that don't even make it to an impeachment document, is then somehow Obstruction? (as their must be a predicate crime first). Rush just said the Democrats are imploding today. The IG report says that they were denied the FISA warrant on spying on Carter Page, but were turned down. Then, they added the Steele dossier, and got approved.
So the Steele dossier was indeed the reason this was approved by a judge. More accurately, the fake Steele dossier that was known to have been paid for by Hillary. And the big bang is that Comey has already set the stage to blame Obama on the whole thing. McCabe too. Obama knew all about the plan, both where the warrant on Page, and the Comey meeting with Trump to "notify" him about the Russian pee whores story in the Steele dossier. This "notification" was then immediately reported as a fact by CNN later that day, after Comey's "all clear" call. Thick as thieves, and maybe a real AG will bring these people to justice. Rush is right about this. A successful impeachment vote would mean the dems abdicate all control of this process to the repubs of which they'll never do. The vote could very well be postponed indefinitely due to new evidence presented to them.

Posted by: Bitter Clinger at December 10, 2019 12:40 PM (xxCXd) Actually, no. There is no Legal Definition in Statute about Obstruction of Congress. There is Obstruction of Justice, which ALL Fed Gov agencies (including Congress) are covered by. And there is Contempt of Congress, which happens when Congress subpoenas you and you don't respond or answer their questions. But this has not been really litigated against the Executive Branch Executive Privilege. So, to recap, there is no Law against Obstruction of Congress, and there is no Law about Abuse of Power. For many years, they were a counterweight to Chicago/Cook. The only representative ads I have seen are for (D) health care. None of the other stuff. Ryan dismissed even the moderates (RINO in our parlance) and walked away with his own swag. (R)s have walked away from various areas as not winnable and rather than expend the money and time, the higher-ups in the (R) factions and central RNC get richer. See, also, 'war chest'. 292. You are not confused. My point is that Romney, Murkowski, Sasse, Collins and whoever else wont simply throw away a vote to make a statement. If there are not over 60 votes (or so) for removal (and there wont be), then these types will just take the safe vote, and vote to acquit.
I do not know stats very well, but I would guess that getting anywhere from 50-60 votes for removal is a very low probability since so many of these critters will vote their own reelection interest first. Posted by: Nick in Tallahassee at December 10, 2019 12:53 PM (JRaU+) 335

These articles of impeachment are so bizarre as to be almost comical. After all these Russia stuff, after all this Ukraine stuff, after days and weeks and months and years or testimony and grandstanding and hysteria, they DROPPED the entire Ukraine/Russia issue and instead are impeaching him for "obstructing" their non-investigation that found nothing?
In what way did he obstruct anything? They control the House of Representatives. They are holding hearings. No one is stopping them. Anti-Trump partisans were given free reign to run rampant for two years, spying on him and harassing him and everyone involved with him in every possible way. Nothing was obstructed. And..."abuse of power"? Are you f'ing kidding me? Obama completely rewrote the rulebook about how much executive power the president can wield, and went far beyond anything Trump is doing, on a daily basis for eight years. There are only two presidents were went full-dictator more than Obama: Lincoln (declaring martial law, suspending civil liberties) and FDR (increasing the power and control of the federal government a hundred-fold during his tenure in countless ways). Trump is a mere amateur compared to those three, when it comes to "abusing" his presidential power. I predict this will spell absolute disaster for the Dems next November.
Nothing was obstructed. ... Note, the Black Book is so tainted they won't even use it in their own courts, but it was enough to force Manafort out of working on the campaign, AND was used as the pretext for Mueller to reopen the investigation on him, until they found SOMETHING he did (supposedly lied on a Loan Application). Trump voters will keep on liking him, Trump haters will keep on hating him, people in the middle won't be moved one way or another by impeachment - except for Trump-friendly Dems in the swing states, who may decide to punish their reps for it. Lincoln (declaring martial law, suspending civil liberties) and FDR (increasing the power and control of the federal government a hundred-fold during his tenure in countless ways). Trump is a mere amateur compared to those three, when it comes to "abusing" his presidential power. **cough** Posted by: Woodrow Wilson at December 10, 2019 01:10 PM (T6t7i) 485

Mueller indicted people (in less than about a year) on lying to Congress and lying to the FBI, financially ruined people the FBI set up, etc. Unless and until similar treatments are doled out for the people responsible, it is all a bunch of lip service, which only serves to placate the people who are calling for justice. The biggest problem with the IG report, as I see it, is this... people say the report shows terrible things happening in the FBI and DoJ re: FISA. So, let's say that the rumors we hear about big prosecutions from Durham/Barr are true, unlike the ones we heard about criminal referrals in the report? Then any of the case they plan/ned to make against the coup conspirators that was based on FISA abuse will be seriously compromised - the defense attorneys will make a strong case that the AG's case was already investigated by his own IG, who found nothing criminal in anyone's conduct. And that'll play with a lot of the public, who will see it as a politically-motivated vengeance prosecution. There's not really anyway to make a purse out of this pig's ear. It was a loss for people who want to see justice, Hannity's breathless reportage notwithstanding. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at December 10, 2019 01:20 PM (AzW6q) 549

Posted by: xnycpeasant at December 10, 2019 12:30 PM (koNhm) I'm skeptical that they should think this, since the ball will be out of their hands and given how poorly everything has turned out with public exposure, they should be wary of that. Now, I did read that the Dems aren't using the whip to urge a win on impeachment, so are they angling to lose that and switch to some censure vote? Right.
