Saturday Afternoon Chess Thread 12-07-2019

Viktorija Beinoraite 01.jpg
Viktorija Beinoraite (LIT)

Pic Note:

Viktorija isn't titled, at least not yet. Her FIDE rating is 1928, which, in the U.S., would make her a Class A player, one step below Expert and 2 below Master.

Shore is purty, though.

Moviegique will be along later with the movie thread. As always, the chess/dress pr0n thread is an open thread, so there is no such thing as an off-topic comment.

Note: that cryptic line of letters and numbers you see underneath each board diagram is a representation of the position in what is known as "Forsyth-Edwards Notation", or F.E.N. It's actually readable by humans. Most computer applications nowadays can read FEN, so those of you who may want to study the position, you can copy the line of FEN and paste into your chess app and it should automatically recreate the position on its display board. Or, Windows users can just "triple click" on it and the entire line will be highlighted so you can copy and paste it into your chess app.

___________

So that about wraps it up for this week. Chess thread tips, suggestions, bribes, rumors, threats, and insults may be sent to my yahoo address: OregonMuse little-a-in-a-circle yahoo dott com.

27 Melania's dress was featured on OM's Chess Thread on Nov. 16 of this year.

To refresh your memory:

"Melania is seen wearing a midi gown cream colored dress by Dior. It was a custom take on a navy Dior number she wore in Japan. The gilded belt cinched Melania's waist a complimented her shapely figure between the dreamtic draped sleeves and graceful fluid skirt that fell just below her knees.

This was her first Christmas in the White House and she is unveilling its Christmas decorations with a them of "Time-Honored Traditions."

Melania Trump invited youngsters to view the decorations and do crafts, visiting the White House from nearby Joint Base Andrews

The first lady was greeted with squeezes and hugs, as one young boy told her that she looked 'beautiful, like an angel!' "

42 Ryan Reynolds 'makes' vodka. I only know that because I saw a commercial for it. There is one now with that hottie from the now infamous Peloton ad. She is indeed a hottie and the commercial pokes at the Peloton ad. The responses for it on Reynolds twitter feed is mostly funny.

https://tinyurl.com/sjf38ev

My favorite: Pretty cool that there is a commercial about this lady and her 2 friends that helped her murder her husband and sink the body at the bottom of a lake anchored by a $3000 dollar bike.

I look forward to the Lifetime movie with the above tweet as inspiration. It'd be nice if Reynolds would make a vodka commercial with that guy who was the husband in the Peloton commercial. Apparently he's getting all kinds of shit over it. Not really fair to him. It's just a gig for him.

61 Intermediate.

1. h4!!

Threatens mate on two different squares and reduces white to a single check unless he starts sacrificing everything ... but I don't think the sacrifices are enough to stop the mate.

White's single check would be mate without h4, hence the double exclam (as they say at the St. Louis Chess Club).

Love that you found an up and coming Farrier.

Do have a totally random question for the horde.

Mother had a Silver Fox Jacket that Dad looked for for years. He gave it to me a few years after he passed and said wear it, its for warmth, not to sit in the closet. Took a bit but I did.

Lost my local fur storage and cleaning place a few years ago and made a horrible decision. Had 2 small coat collars made from it because it was wearing out. Recently found it, and froze.

My question is, does anyone know where I can have it restyled? I can't bring myself to get rid of it. I'm thinking maybe Dallas? but I'm in CO.

Easy -

The intent was to surveil John Doe but we carelessly also surveiled Jane Roe, Bob Blah, and a hundred others. A very common mistake. Happens all the time.
There was this one time we were going after a suspected terrorist, ended up actually surveiling the whole Supreme Court and all big reporters in NYC. Nobody even noticed until two years later. But we made some major busts.
