C*ck-Fil-A? Chick-Fil-A Will No Longer Donate to Organizations Gay Pressure Groups Claim Are "Anti-Gay"

Chick-fil-A said Monday that it has stopped donations to several Christian organizations after receiving backlash from LGBT rights activists over the last several weeks. The U.S. fast food chain said that as it expands, it will no longer donate to the Salvation Army, the Paul Anderson Youth Home, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which opposes same-sex marriage. The company’s charity, the Chick-fil-A Foundation, has donated millions of dollars to the two organizations. "We made multi-year commitments to both organizations and we fulfilled those obligations in 2018," a representative for Chick-fil-A said, saying the chain will now focus its charitable donations on "education, homelessness and hunger."Nevergiveup says that Chick-Fil-A did not admit they were bowing to PC pressure, but... well, if they're focusing on "homelessness and hunger," why would they stop donating to the Salvation Army, except for the pressure from gay groups? And of course they would not admit that. But I can't make sense of claiming you're redirecting your donations to help with "homelessness and hunger," and then say, "And that means no more donations to the Salvation Army." Chick-Fil-A disputes that this represents a "cave" to gay gestapo groups, but it seems to be that, at least to me. Gay groups have been directing hateful protests at the organization for weeks. Below, video of some of the protesters, including many, many drag queens. David French rates this "a blessing of liberty," I presume.

Ah ACE don't misquote me. All I relayed was what was printed in the Papers: That CFA said they had fully fulfilled their Pledges to those Organizations. The article made NO mention of PC Pressure ( not that I doubt there was some ). I was replying to people make things up out of thin air and misquoting what CFA said. They are a solid charity that does good work. And they let you dictate to some degree where your donation goes (disaster relief, general fund, etc.). I usually give 25% of my donation specifically to disaster relief (where they have helped my community in fire-prone CO tremendously) and the rest to the general fund.

It's actually good corporate strategy to shift these things from time to time because the receiving organizations, especially large ones, often tend to get lazy with "guaranteed" money.
Before everyone freaks out (not that they haven't already), I'd suggest just giving them a bit to articulate this better.

Because they food is ok, not great, I mean it is fast food. BUT they are very nice to the customer. It is clean, and fast. I had NEVER gone there till they got accused of being anti-gay which I thought was inaccurate and unfair. So I began frequenting them. I will have to see how this turns out going forward. But I am going to wait to see, and not assume. However as I also said, they handled this poorly

So it is justifiable for them to stop, since being barred from certain locations and having those freaks outside is not good for sales. OTOH, bowing to terrorists and paying tribute to the gay horseman of the apocalypse is probably not good for sales either.
If this gets them on campuses and into lib cities, then it is a win. Let them make more cash, and pay employees, and spread their Christian message and let those employees spread the Christian cash to good purpose.

As I was walking down the hallway of her retirement home, I was fighting tears. One of the men who was there to pick up her furniture stopped in the hallway and asked if he could pray with me. We held hands and he prayed for me and my family.

Apart from the private ownership issue, I think Tom Servo is somewhat off-base on this one. If boards wanted to put an end to corporate giving, they could. Corporations use charitable giving for a variety of purposes, to do what they perceive as good and to be perceived by others as doing so. Boards think they can purchase good will by doing so, and they're not wrong. It's perfectly rational for shareholders to support that.

irrelevant. Let the owners take the cash and donate it themselves. The only difference between a private company and public is how the ownership is traded. The corporation is still a profit making enterprise and all charitable giving should be to that goal.
Private companies usually have more leeway since they are often closely held by a single family, and they can donate corporate cash as a business expense for tax purposes, but that is just accounting and not justifiable for the business goal.

Hell, I even know gays who eat there. But they did that before this. Honestly, I don't take it as a huge attack on me or Christianity, especially in light of the much more serious assaults in America and around the world. I'm skeptical of people who say the sky is falling, Great Betrayal, etc.

Secondly, you're right that elite American society absolutely hates Christianity. But that's not the same thing as lacking political clout. Because that clout is from the consent of the governed. The Vindmans of the world don't believe that, but they were always liars.

In the interest of pure trivia, it was actually the Persians who were Zoroastrian, the Babylonians (who Daniel lived with during the captivity) had a pantheon of gods with one named Marduk on top of it all. That religion is long gone, wiped out by the Zoroastrians after Cyrus the Great conquered everything.
Zoroastrianism probably predates Abraham, which would make it the oldest recognized monotheistic religion. Early Christianity appears to have absorbed quite a few Zorastrian elements that aren't found in Judaism, such as the Final Judgment and the Lake of Fire, among other things.

I'd also like to add that it used to drive me batshit insane when soldiers (some senior NCOs) in the Army would address themselves as Sergeant even though they were SFC, Master Sergeants, etc. I told all my folks everytime we were deployed together with our Army brothers and sisters that if I heard them address someone as Sarge instead of their appropriate rank and title that I'd rip their heads off and shit down their necks. Had a couple Marine and a Sailor try me on occasion but no further issues after a couple of public shamings and extra duty for failure to follow simple instructions.
No other service that I know of allows that Sarge type of shit and neither should the Army. Let a sailor call a Senior Chief "Chief" and see what happens. Let an airman call a Senior Master Sergeant a "Sarge" and see WTF happens. Let a Marine call a Gunny a Sarge and see WTF happens. But the Army.. dudes.. I stop that shit in its tracks on every deployment (at least until I've left the AOR). LOL

Frisch's were big in my hometown of Cincinnati. My senior high school class would meet there for breakfast and we'd have a ball hanging all over the Big Boy outside and taking pictures of ourselves. Lots of good high school memories for me at Frisch's.
I've eaten at the faux Frisch's that dares call itself Shoney's and it is not the same food. Incidentally, I'm in SC now and at one of our little downtown stores in Spartanburg, there's a shop that has an authentic Big Boy statue they display outside during the day.

In he 90's I got involved as a volunteer, took some training classes and worked on some disaster relief. Gave up after a few years after seeing the incredible waste and bureaucracy involved . I will never give to them again or volunteer either. It also made me very suspicions of almost all such organizations. If you want to help the needy, make the giving as direct to the intended recipient as possible.

Now I never spoke to a Chief or ever seen a Sr Chief until I was a "senior Lance" but have served with some of the finest that the Navy can offer on ship, ashore and deployed and I can assure you that the crusty khaki wearers that I hung out with wore sailors and others out when not called Chief, Sr. Chief or Master Chief.

We are getting to the point where the part of the Church that actually reads the Bible and cares what it says is shrinking to a shadow of its former self. Seminaries are either going full woke (ALL the SBC seminaries), or outright failing. The future of the Bible reading Church is America is bleak, Kanye or not.
