EMT 11/16/19

I'm old enough to remember when diplomatic quid pro quo was preferable to open hostilities. Indeed, quid pro quo was the sin qua non of diplomacy.

But then, diplomats never were honest folk to begin with, so I guess it shouldn't really surprise me to find that even the rationalisation for their own necessity was a lie.

3 Good Morning Morons; today is Saturday, November 16, 2019. On this day in 1871 the National Rifle Association received its charter from New York State and began initial operations. The liberal gun grabbers hate this organization. The NRA has been around since the end of the Civil War.

Hot chicks, small outfits, etc., and society has full-on accepted lipstick lesbian make-out scenes in Hollywood so at least one of the hot chicks in a small outfit would be okay in a role of seduction to accomplish a mission.

$500M on opening night, and instead they get one person in the theater.

"Schumer is still in hiding from the public. I personally think he poops his pants now that there is a criminal investigation into basically the deep state. Schiff is so stupid that he believes that he is immune from the investigation. It is only a matter of time.

I like the spirit and positive outlook, but the problem is that we will remain a republic in the same way we still have 2nd Amendment rights.

Punish the wrongdoers and it damages the republic for politicians and government workers. Don't punish the wrongdoers and it damages the republic for citizens.

Around midday I'll depart for points south to close up our summer place for the winter by shutting off the water, draining the water lines and blowing them clear with pressurized air. It's mostly routine, except for the part where I crawl underneath to open some valves to drain several supply lines AFTER the water supply has been cut, so cleaning up involves setting aside a substantial quantuty of hot water in advance.

Back in college days our campus war gamers (game boards, cards and dice) would gather in one of the dorm's meeting rooms on Friday evening and be there pretty much all through the next two days until Sunday dinner. They were ... different ... somehow for those times (mid 70s).

Bring your own chair. I only have three. (Nobody - I mean Nobody - ever comes over to my house for dinner. Not even my own children. ESPECIALLY my own children. Years of bad meals will do that.)

293 214 Barky spent childhood in Hawaii, Philippines not the coldest places to start out and get use to.
_______________

Yes, but if he had "thin Hawaiian blood" from having lived in Honolulu as a child, it would have thickened up substantially after living in NYC (when he went to Columbia), then 3 years in Boston (going to Harvard Law), and then decades in cold and windy Chicago, which is where he lived before he moved into the White House.

Barky has spent many more years living in cold climates than he did living in warm ones, so the "thin Hawaiian blood" excuse for his cranking up the WH thermostat was just a load of b.s.

294 Grammie,
I've frozen the tomato, clam chowder, and lobster bisque from Costco before with no issues. Maybe remove a little soup from the containers before freezing them if they that full.

Anyone contemplating attempting a sneak peak, be advised that she will have at least two shivs.

On the upside, your last ride will be in a black muscle car burning donuts on the way to your final resting place. While neither you nor Epstein will be in a condition to appreciate it, it will be epic!

318 Morning All! I am in the middle of a trip from Michigan to Florida on my sailboat and I am tearfully bouyed (sorry for the nautical metaphor) for the love of country as I pass homes and boats that proudly display the Trump2020 flag. In every state that I pass through, at every turn, you cannot help but notice the flags!
As I passed by West Point, the Naval Academy, and Camp Lejeune Marine base and at each point, found myself singing the "Star Spangled Banner" and "America the Beautiful" at the top of my lungs! I am very confident that our president will get another 4 years and I hope that he doesn't just "Keep America Great" but "Make America Greater!"
