Trump to Media: You Don't Like My Behavior...? Well, My Behavior Is In Reaction to Yours.
Plus: Trump Dubs Bloomberg "Little Michael"

I rate this as 75% true.

The other 25% is Trump just being arrogant and rich.

Reporter: "Leon Cooperman said this week that, if you can't change your behavior, you probably shouldn't run again in 2020. What do you say to that?"

Pres. Trump: "Now, you really shaped my behavior because, from the day I came in here, I've had problems with phony stuff - like a phony dossier that turned out to be false, like false investigations that I've beaten. So, a lot of my behavior was shaped by the fake news and by the other side. That was a lot of my behavior."

If you're wondering who Leon Cooperman is -- he's a billionaire Wall Streeter Democrat who has been using his wealth to "battle Elizabeth Warren," who now says he'll be supporting fellow billionaire Michael Bloomberg.

Unpopular (but is it really?) thought: If these rich New York City billionaires and hedge funders are telling us, by supporting Democrats and socialism, that they have no need of their billions and wouldn't mind the state stripping them of their wealth, who are we to argue?

If they think their money is best confiscated by the government, why should I, or anyone in the GOP, stand in their way?

These guys always push socialists -- and yes, Biden's a socialist too -- but then rely upon Republicans to protect them from the punitive tax rates their fellow socialists would impose on them.

(Of course, they also rely on corporation and bank funded shills, like Chuck Schumer, to talk a good game about "income inequality" while working with Republicans to make sure no such legislation passes.)

So they get all the virtue points of supporting socialism, but none of the actual costs.

Maybe it's time the GOP started letting the costs fall upon those who are trying to impose this misery on the rest of us. Maybe it's time to make sure that these Democrat billionaire donors know that they will in fact begin reaping what they are sowing, and we shall not stand in the way of the pitchforks and torches.

Hell, we might even lend a hand.

Thanks to Christopher Taylor.

More about billionaire nanny-state authoritarian Michael Bloomberg below.

Trump calls Bloomberg "little Michael," and says "little Michael will fail," because "He doesn't have the magic to do well."

He adds that little Michael "has some really big issues, he's got some personal problems, and he's got a lot of other issues."

"There is nobody I would rather run against than little Michael."

Meanwhile, little Michael can't stop admitting how very weak the Democrat Party's field is.

95 If Republicans stopped protecting the ultra-wealthy, I think you'd see the donor class change really quickly. Suddenly tranny bathrooms wouldn't be such an important issue to them anymore.

And go after the non-profit foundations also, tax them into oblivion. They're just liberal fronts anyway.

If Bill Gates wants an estate tax, make sure he actually pays into it instead of dumping $100 billion into some liberal activist group and doesn't pay a penny into it. Yet this is some issue supposedly near and dear to his heart.

103 bloomberg is a control freak.

He fits right in with the rest of DC - he think because he did one thing that made him a lot of money, that means he is smarter than everyone else and needs to tell them how to live.

All the things people hate about trump - that is not one of them and that is why so many people love him. In fact, that is part of American patriotism. The idea that the people left alone know what is best for themselves.

bloomberg is very european, which is a plus on the left, but he is also jewish so I think his appeal to the antisemite part would be rather limited.

167 I disagree - they're fellow socialists won't impose taxes - ON THEM.
Their fellow socialist elected officials, bought and paid for, will craft the laws and rules in such a way that it doesn't affect their rich 'socialist' buddies.

Then they'll talk about how the 'stuck it to the rich guys' knowing full well they didn't, but they'll be able to SAY they did come election time.

And since the public is pretty much now a collection of drooling social media morons, they'll believe what their own eyes are telling them are really the lies.

It's the same as it is now - the inside crowd protects their own, to the obvious detriment of the people.

If that 'rich guy tax money' they pretended to suck from the wealthy doesn't trickle down to you peons, well, that's because 'Republicans' prevented it, or some other boogeyman that stopped YOUR wealth (Cargo cult anyone?)

And the uni-party Republicans are okay with that because they're the loyal opposition in this scheme, the Washington Generals, the designated guys in the black hat that, along with the "evil rich", prevent the unicorn rainbow from bringing that pot of gold to every Democrat voter and special interest slug.

And so we go around and around defining 'rich' down further and further because the people being taxed don't have the inside track or the money to get ON the inside track and the definition of rich goes from $200,000+ a year to $125,000+ a year to $80,000+ a year to $75,000+ a year.

That's not hard to sell when your audience has a maximum combined yearly income of $40,000.

Which is precisely why he started taking on water. He *was* the choice because he was "mainstream" enough to take down Trump (the theory was).

That's when to "compete" with the at-that-time also-rans, he started surrendering long-held differences from the left. At that point, he slowly became useful to no one.

The lefties had plenty of people who are traditionally more lefty, and the more centrist was watching him steadily drift left to "compete" with people he was soundly beating. But they had these series of lefty competitions called "debates" and Biden crumpled.

Because he's only ever been a politician. Straight-up, pure-bred politician.

182 Battle of the new York Billionaires would be a FABULOUS general election matchup.

Trump would curb-stormp Bloomberg into the next dimension.

The only way to defeat Trump would be to offer up someone who was different in every possible way. At lats there woukld then be a choice.

But offering up someone who is EXACTLY like Trump is nearly every single way except for a few minor policy differences and 1/100th the charisma? That a recipe for total failure. Zero "progressives" would get excited about Bloomberg, and most would stay home in a huff on election day.

205 And so we go around and around defining 'rich' down further and further because the people being taxed don't have the inside track or the money to get ON the inside track and the definition of rich goes from $200,000+ a year to $125,000+ a year to $80,000+ a year to $75,000+ a year.

Washington state doesn't have an income tax.

Leftists in Washington state proposed an income tax on "millionaires" a few years ago - "No, no, it's only on really, really rich people! You won't pay it!"

It lost in a landslide - Washington voters may usually be left-wing, but they weren't stupid enough not to realize that once a state income tax was in place, the definition of "rich" would undoubtedly become a lot more expansive in the future.

Yeah at that level of power and wealth, no policy really affects you unless it comes out of the barrel of a gun. Higher taxes? Bill Gates earns enough to pay his taxes within the first few weeks of a year. More illegals? Not in his gated community. Bad foreign policy? Meh, he's got a private security group and besides he can get along with any tyrant with a few handshakes full of cash. Crazy crap involving trannies and men in girl's locker rooms? I recall when Ft. Knox was in a dry county, and at the border with the next county up, just over the line, was a bar with *big* neon signs on top. As you entered the county, the sign on that side said "First Chance", on the other "Last Chance". Thus, it was known as The First Chance/Last Chance bar.

299 One thing about wealthy owners - freed from the normal constraints that you and I have on behaviors or whims in order to survive with other people on a day to day basis, they express their inner Napoleonic complexes by restricting things they personally don't like - soda or calorific foods or sporting events, whatever - they pursue politics as a means of power to control others they feel superior to, employees essentially.

Trump never seems to exhibit these tendencies - he seems more down with the employees and less with the suck up management staff - it's the difference between him and "My Way or Hit the Bricks" Mike Bloomberg

I would bet money any politically active billionaire on the Left has some STRONG positions against religion and traditional values.

Billionaires do care about their money, they just feel secure Republicans will protect it. So they get the best of both worlds.

330 You know.

The Democrats have made me rethink my position.

It is wrong for us to provide funding to foreign governments with strings attached to that money.

But, we can't very well just give them US Taxpayer dollars with no agenda.

So. We should stop giving money to foreign governments. Period.

I cringe at it at times too. I really think he is losing the middle class because of it, at least with the people I know.

Same talk running up to last election, but the choice will come down to Warren or Bloomberg or Biden vs Trump and it's going to be Trump, just like last time.

I'd love to see Trump "accidentally" go up to the wrong podium, ascend the stairs, and then have to be corrected / shoo'd away by the director or moderators.

Just to give everyone a moment a clear demonstration of the height disparity being masked.

Atheists are a small percent of the population, but it's sort of astonishing how many of them are billionaires.

------

Is it?

Not to knock people who are driven to achieve that kind of status, but they tend (unsurprisingly) to have enormous egos - that probably doesn't leave a lot of room for faith in a power higher than yourself.

And in the case of people like Soros, Gates, and Zuckerberg - they clearly have their own god-complexes going on.

340 I was raised in a lower middle class section of a smaller midwestern town. My family and friends would have embraced PDT even if they had voted for dems all their lives. There are a lot of people in this country who are not exactly, how can I put it, aspiring to the country club set. They do not care about uncouth, they care about their freedoms and the freedoms of their family and friends. Hard working, hard drinking and sometimes uncouth people who could care less how the sjw's of this world are offended.

344 I think the superrich love the idea that they are going to "fix everything". Thus just like the liberals who want to fix everything, they need that power that prevents other people from opting out. Thus they need Big State.

Also as they love flattery, and liberal politics is about self-flattery, they naturally are attracted to the more plentiful warm-fuzzy reinforcement of liberal politics.

Grays Harbor County, Washington, a very blue-collar country, had voted for Democratic Presidential candidates since the 1930's.

I recall when Ft. Knox was in a dry county, and
at the border with the next county up, just over the line, was a bar
with *big* neon signs on top. As you entered the county, the sign on
that side said "First Chance", on the other "Last Chance". Thus, it was
known as The First Chance/Last Chance bar.

350 Billionaires love fascist governments who can use the force of regulation to make them more wealthy and stifle any competition.

Posted by: Cat Ass Trophy

I think Bloomberg just sees public office as a way to make people who he sees as his employees, not his constituents, to conform to the rules as decreed by Mike. No offense to small men, but you see this in business with men of small stature - the swaggering desire to make employees conform to whatever is in this egotists head, regardless of its useful nature. Bloomberg is the embodiment of this poor character trait.

Probably been noted: but, billionaire industrialists love the State for two reasons:

1.) Fear. It's the only entity that can harm them.

2.) Greed. The crushing weight of taxation and regulation is easy for them to carry, while providing an impossible barrier to entry for putative competitors.

354 I would never vot for bloomberg because he doe not get that efficiency is not the most important thing on gov.

However, he does run a tight ship. Years ago we were discussing buying some of bloomberg's services. The rep showed up, demoed everything we asked for. We told them that there were two or three key sets of data we wanted that were not in his demo.

He was back the next day and bloomberg had made that data available, in the form we wanted, for everyone that had their services.
