The Morning Report - 11/5/19

bidenscreen.jpg

Good morning kids. Tuesday, and it's Election Day in some places so go to the polls and derail the Left as best you can.

I'm going to lead with the original coup against the President since there seems to be more things concerning that than the closely related impeachment follies, so here we go. Since what fuels the insurrection is this vast gaggle of informants, plants and outright traitors working from within the administration itself, the DoJ (at least the leadership since many of the aforementioned are buried in there) is taking steps to out this "anonymous" subversive who is urging insurrection from his fellow bureaucrats. At the same time, this insect is making money off of his crimes with a tell-all piece of agitprop. Nice work if you can get it, right Comey? The good Roger Simon echoes our sentiments for full sunshine to disinfect this cancer. We already know that this Eric Ciaramella fraud is more than likely the whistleblower, despite the media's game-playing in not mentioning his name. The maddening thing is that there are laws protecting his whistleblower status and so he can't be fired, which is ridiculous on the face of it since his documented actions of going to Schiff-for-Brains first and not the IG prove he's a political operator and as such not protected by those laws. Meh, go tell it to the Marines.

Meanwhile, Margot Cleveland informs us that Stefan Halper worked directly with WaPo agitprop stenographer David Ignatius as his CIA source for leaks, as new filings in the Flynn persecution dismantles the government's "case" against him. Lastly, infuriating as all of this is, Lee Smith's book, which really is the go-to chronicle of what is without doubt the most horrendous political crime in American history is sure to make your head explode.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

21 Cy Vance, after declining to prosecute Harvey Weinstein, when he had a tape of Harvey admitting his rape of an Italian model, is trying to redeem his reputation by "investigating" PDJT for possible election law violations in paying off two women.

Not sure what the alleged NY crime here might be, or why Vance thinks these two payments should entitle him to seven or eight years of Federal tax returns, but the aforementioned tax filings have become an obvious White Whale and Vance is merely acting as the Democrats Ahab.

On my trip up and back, I drove through KY, TN and NC. I saw...in all 3 states...several semis where someone had written in the truck dirt on the back, TRUMP 2020 and others had a big box with a checkmark in it that had Trump's name beside it. I loved it.

We've got an interesting battle in our fair city, with the mayor sending out a mailer to respond to a full-page ad by her challenger on the front of last week's local ad paper. The gauntlet thrown apparently knocked out some of her teeth, and now she is definitely rattled.

"I hope you realize that 'Drag Queens and Library Books' aren't actually on the ballot" is a real quote from her mailer. Well, sorry, but it wouldn't be an issue if you and the City Council (who is also getting challenged) hadn't rolled over for the LGBTQWERTY outsiders who, in violation of city ordinance and Council directives, hosted a drag show that let minors attend ON CITY PROPERTY. And if the library hadn't told hundreds of petitioners to eff off when they protested inappropriate books for children, it wouldn't have been an issue either. It's not our fault that your spinelessness is being put on display for the whole world to see. We're just going to hold you accountable for it.

No, our entire town isn't pissed off, why do you ask?

Here's the explanation: Orange Man Bad because he opposes the globalist plan to invade the U.S. with welfare-sucking foreigners and replace American workers with H1-B slaves, and because he wasn't the Anointed One chosen by our globalist masters. Therefore, he can and will be investigated by surprise anal at all times throughout his illegitimate (as in, unsupported by our globalist masters) presidency! 99 Regardless of what Pence's COS, Mark Short thinks about Democrat overreach vis-a-vis impechament, it's going to be extraordinarily unlikely that the GOP will regain the house.

19 GOP incumbent reps have decided to retire this cycle bringing the number of GOP retirements for the last two cycles to over 60.

Average number of retirements in any cycle is 5-7, the GOP had 5 dozen last cycle and are nearing 2 dozen this cycle.

I just don't see them winning back the 40 they lost last cycle and retaining the all of the vacated seats.

It will be a major miracle if they can hold onto the seats they have now let alone retake the house.

Still, what right does Oberlin College have scolding and then unleashing student mobs on a private place of business? Gibson family shouldn't even have to answer to that charge. 130 Mutual fund gains are directly tied to goals and risk tolerance. If you invested in mutual funds with low risk, your short-term returns will be small. This isn't hard. Long term capital appreciation has to tolerate risk. You also probably chose a passively managed fund. A high percentage in bonds will also yield lower returns but are fairly safe.

You really can't understand your own investment, Creeper?

______________

It usually works because the other side won't fight back. But that's not happening here.

Gibson's is not only fighting the appeal, they have done what they said they would do if Oberlin appealed: they have filed their own appeal challenging (on constitutional grounds) the statutory caps on their jury awards.

They also forced Oberlin to buy an appeal bond, so they are guaranteed to get their money, once Oberlin loses their appeal (which they are very likely to do). Meanwhile, it's accruing a nice amount of interest for the Gibsons.

Gibsons is not backing down, and in the end, they will be the winners of this fight.

153 Just to recap the Oberlin case for those who haven't been watching it closely - Oberlin is the one claiming it is all about "Defamation" by the students, because they want to make a Federal 1st Amendment case out of it. But that is NOT what the case was ever really about.

For a year after the original confrontation, the Oberlin administration engaged in heavy handed and illegal actions designed to force Gibson's into knuckling under - at one point they demanded that Gibson's promise to never talk to any police again, but instead to submit all problems to Oberlin administrators first. Gibson's refused that offer, and so Oberlin started going to all of their business associates and forcing them to cut ties with Gibson's, in order to force Gibson's out of business.

THAT is what the lawsuit was all about. The funniest part is that even a year into it, Gibson's would happily have settle the entire case for $100,000 and an apology. Now the price tag is up to $33 million and rising every day.

Yay! Good for you.

Try Googling the candidates' names. They may not have their own website, but they will be mentioned in the website of the party with which they are affiliated.

Also, hopefully you will be able to pick up a Republican sample ballot outside your polling place. But look them up just the same.

Why is that photo sexist? And the argument Pelosi should recuse herself from impeachment is so completely idiotic it hardly is worth mentioning, but obviously there are fascists who think Pelosi should move an impeachment vote right now, today.

Yep, it's Trump who is FINALLY linking the cartels to the open border/immigration debate.

The Left can be so effective because theay are allowed to discuss issues as standalone topic.

Open borders = dreamers who want a good life
Drugs = people need help!

The reality is that our open borders allow drug cartels and all sorts of other criminals bring their crime to the US, with one of the biggest illegal businesses being drugs. The Cartels for the most part are superior to the Mexican military and have hyper capabilities as compared to Mexican law enforcement.

If the cartels are going to be defeated it's going to have to be at the hands of the US military.

And that is a non-starter in Mexico because as much as the average Mexican citizen might detest the Cartels the idea that the US military will be operating and killing cartels members in Mexican territory would be anathema to them.

So I don't see much happening other than hand waving.

wasn't it formerly our CIA's job to help US interests by "nudging" the strongest cartel to play nice and act like a real government?

it's not like shifting from criminal gang to actual govt party NEVER happens - it's probably the more natural human state.

283 @254

In order to defeat an enemy such as the cartels it would take waging total war against them.

And that would take major military operations within Mexican borders.

And if you think the average Mexican hates the US now, just imagine the US military waging a total war within Mexican borders.

The ensuing bloodshed and chaos would drive even more Mexicans into the US, it would galvanize Mexican citizens' hatred against the US, it would completely destabilize Mexico, etc.

The best course of action would be for the US military to establish an Iron Curtain on the southern border, stopping drugs and people from flowing north.

But an operation like that would have to have broad political support and that's just not going to happen.

So while I support Trumps efforts, it's largely going to be symbolic because of the lack of political will to actually do something tangible to solve the problems.

Because very powerful people benefit from the current reality of the situation.

306 Lee Smith did a good interview on Epoch Times ... he points out details to show it is indeed a coup ... a "paper coup" he says, as opposed to a military coup.

I've noticed how important the "under investigation" theme was to giving the House to Dems, so they could continue the coup after Mueller. That along with the Fed reversing their 8 years of ZIRP and QE to prop up Obama. Tightening started right after the 2016 election ... arseholes. They reversed course but not till after the 2018 election.

Lee Smith also emphasizes how key players inn the Media (NT Times, WaPo, a few others) were fully on board with "reporting" the false narrative, and never reporting on the Coup, which is the real story.

Smith says NY Times (and the rest) has lost their venerable status ... and while that is true, imo they have been subversive since the 30's. Brit Hume also talks about how they used to report "straight news". But they were always left ... just not so openly left that they could be outed as subversives. They used to be subversive moles, they have now gone hot warrior for communism, pretty much putting on the red uniform.

350 Maybe Mexico has to be exposed as a failed state, and treated more like Iraq or Afghanistan (or "Palestine"?) than an economic partner.

Their government is fine with instructing the cartel run illegals on how to infiltrate our laws and become US subsidized Mexicans, that take jobs and send the income back to Mexico. So a community taxes residents to build infrastructure and build/support industry, and the profits get sucked out of the community and used to build in cartel run Mexico ... so they can ship us more drugs and indigents and criminals.

Sure we get some workers that "are good people", but we have plenty of those, and we have to break all those ties they have to their Mother Country and to the cartels. Right now they operate as a united enemy force, welcomed in by the left.

I agree with but with caution. Before the internet and alternative media, we didn't really know the facts because they buried them. They established the narrative, they formed the premises, and they only covered what they wanted to cover. I became a conservative when dorky 15 year old me researched Joe McCarthy and realized like I had been hit by lightning that the media had lied. I came home enraged at my dad, why had he never told me that that whole narrative was a lie. That it had carried on to take down Nixon? If anything, this excursion into Afghanistan did two things (other than deplete the treasury and maim thousands of American soldiers), provide the Chinese with profitable Lithium mines, and improve the quality and quantity of opium.

400 The former united States has been in a small country like Afghanistan for decades and has nothing to show for the effort except a lot of maimed bodies and a multi-trillion dollar hole in the treasury.

My point was a bit dense and hyperbolic. Wasting that money and those lives halfway around the world was pointless when the problems in our back yard were clear and present and of a far more serious threat. We should have dealt with them long ago. We are now stuck in a very difficult situation which is partly of our own creation as our open border has enabled the Mexican ruling class to dodge needed reforms. The only way now that the cartels will be defeated is through serious retributive violence of the type that stopped Pablo Escobar and the Mexicans aren't going to do it, so what is to be done?

Seems like you could buy thin sheets of galvanized metal easier than messing with cat food cans since you're cutting them up anyhow?
Posted by: Commissar Hrothgar at November 05, 2019 09:38 AM (BiNEL)

You can't solder galvanized. Plus the fumes released are toxic.

403 So voted this morning. Literally saw the uniparty in action, as at least 3 candidates in my town/county Somers/Westchester NY, were on the Conservative Party Ticket, the Republican Party ticket AND the Democrat party ticket. I hate NY.

That would result in the death of about half the NFL and NBA if they happened to be traveling in the area.

2nd question. Do you really need it removed?
Because it may be cheaper to buy new, unlined cans than try to remove the coating.
Posted by: rickb223 at November 05, 2019 09:27 AM (NJ+n1

Well, I want to use these because they're free with the cat food.
Posted by: J.J. Sefton at November 05, 2019 09:28 AM (zBaqJ)

Just did a test with a cat food can. The lining is very thin and is likely polyester. Acetone works well.

I poured acetone in and by the time I set the acetone down, I could scrape off the lining with a fingernail.

Dunno how many cans you're doing, but I'd likely use a wooden handled brass toothbrush to speed things along.

409 Pretty much everybody in Ireland was "unfree" at some point, but you could get out of it in various ways,by amassing property or skills.

But then the Irish clans started selling unfree people to the Norse for the Muslim market in Spain, and the Irish took over the shipping when the Norse got kicked out. Many Irish clerics claimed later that the Islamic slave trade was why God let the English conquer Ireland.

So yeah, between Slavs and Spanish and most of the former Roman Empire, and China, and Asia, and India, who was not a descendant of slaves?

Greetings, J.J. ... Some people roast turkeys outdoors under a steel trashcan that's been de-galvanized. Grubmasters has several how-to videos which can be found by typing "Trash Can Burnout" or "Trash Can Turkey" in the search field.
