Report: Katie Hill's Staffers Confirmed Report With Her (Male) Legislative Director, Leading to Pelosi Demanding Her Resignation
The fact that Nancy Pelosi sent someone 'round to ask about the allegations, and that the staffers confirmed them (I bet without too much arm twisting), confirms that this is a real story, right?

That's just a stupid statement. Those jobs are temporary and they know it. I knew someone way back in the seventies who had worked for a U.S. senator. Once the elected official leaves office, a bunch of people are out of jobs. If they have any sense, they plan for the next part of their career.

I think people get so used to cameras they sort of lose any sense of perspective or priority. I hear from parents upset because they caught their 13 year old girl taking pictures for boys on line. I mean... at some point doesn't a parent have to show some judgment about when you get access to that kind of thing, let alone private time with the internet?

349 I have combed the internet and talked with family and friends looking for a solution to my neighbor's loud bass and can't find any solutions. I'm very concerned about my husband's well being. I thought I'd come out of lurkdom to ask the intelligent crowd here if there are any ideas.
A month ago our neighbors woke us up at 1am with loud bass music. This has been going on for about 9 months. I never got a chance to call the police, for the 8th time, because my husband started grabbing his left side of his chest. Rushed him to the ER. He had a heart attack and had another while waiting on blood test results to come back to confirm whether had had one or not. Granted, he had blockages, stents put in and he's ok. But his main culprit to the problem is high blood pressure which his previous doctor did a piss poor job of helping him to control. We did diet, exercise, etc... but his bp was hard to control. New doctor now and blood pressure is still slightly high but nothing like it was.
One of the top causes of high bp is getting upset. But for quite some time, we've been dealing with awfully loud neighbors. We moved away from a loud business that we could do nothing really about to now what seemed like a quieter neighborhood. But the guys across the street like to drink and get louder as they drink. Law has been called a number of times. I called over the weekend about the same thing. I told dispatch I want to speak to an officer because this has officially became very unhealthy for my husband. I waited outside. A county pd rolled by their place and mine really slow while the bass was really loud... but he kept going and no one paid me a visit at all.
The next day they were booming again. This time my husband called and told dispatch they turn it up and turn it down alternately today. She said they would send a unit out. After 15 mins they turned it off completely and it stayed that way so hubby called them back and told dispatch. He feels the police have better things to do than show up where a problem has stopped. Plus, if the cops don't hear it, there's nothing they can do. Dispatch asked did he want to speak to an officer anyway. He said there's no point, he's called several times about the same people. We've talked to officers twice but it keeps happening. She asked him again and hubby said he'd think about it.
Now, a neighbor down the road who did this earlier this year pushed things with his bass and an officer cited him a hefty fine. But these guys across the street must be special or something because absolutely nothing happens to these guys. One night when the cops showed up they couldn't get them to open the door no matter how hard they knocked. The music was blaring away as they tried. Every time the cops show up, these guys run off in the woods. That night they wouldn't come out of the house.
Moving is not an option for a while. I'm having to work 3rd shift because we have extra medical bills to pay now and I really worry about husband being at home alone at night if it happens again. We've tried noise cancelling stuff, try to drown out the bass with noise through a subwoofer and all. Apparently it doesn't bother other people in the neighborhood because they don't live across from them and hear it like we do. I even talked to a guy who doesn't live there but claims he owns the place and explained to him my husband's health. He seemed confused, did not speak english well, but I finally got him to understand it's the bass, not the music, just tell them to keep the bass down and we have no problems. I even told him about my husband's health. This was recently. But the next day those guys were at it again.
If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them and if you're a praying person, prayers would be greatly appreciated too. It's not a distant thump you can hear indoors. It's a noise you can FEEL coming through the walls and overcomes the low frequency white noise we run through our subwoofer. And they're about 70 - 75 feet away.

As expected, the Democrats found a Carter-appointed Federal judge willing to set aside the Alabama abortion law.
It was really the only ruling he could make but what I'm sure frustrated him is that he couldn't find a way to prevent this from being appealed down the line.

Had the same thing happen to us a year ago. New neighbors 100 yds away in the next culdesac over.
Most of my neighbor dont say anything. Im the one that ends up dealing.
First two times I went over there it was all "Im sorry we'll watchit." No issues.
The last time was at about 1:00 on a Friday and theyd been heavily drinking and having a party. For my trouble one of their guests ended up launching his drink glass and hitting me in the face.
It got real ugly after that. Responding officer was pretty cool and knew what happened. He knew very damn well I didnt walk all the way around the block just to knock one of their guests unconscious. The fact that there was a broken glass in the street and my shirt reeked of Jack and Joke and I already had a perfect circle bruise under my eye was another clue.
Funny thing is we've never heard a peep from them since.

Yeah, but family photos were also about remembering the trip and so the kids could see themselves later. I remember when Pappaw got out the film projector and showed the old movies from when they went to the Grand Canyon in the 60's. It was neat.
Oddly, the availability and limited film also influenced shot selection. I did not see him taking photos of the pancakes at the Sambo's or Howard Johnson's they got breakfast at.

Because running away is a loser's game. It's saying, "We've already lost, and we'll never recover, so everyone should just flee to another state and let the locusts stream out and follow you there."
And to that I say no.
You don't win if you only play defense. If we restrict the battle to red bastions, then the bastions will fall sooner or later, one at a time. It's simple logic. You *must* maintain conservative presences in California, or we'll never get the state back. And if you operate under the assumption that we'll never get the state back, then you might as well just give up the whole country. Because that's where that thinking ultimately leads.
Three years ago at this time, I was nearly certain that Hillary Clinton was going to be our next president of the United States. As it turns out, I was wrong. We never know what the future will bring. And even though hope is faint at the moment, circumstances can change literally between two moments.

My 93 year old neighbor passed away about six months ago . I'm being serious when I say you could tell she was a looker when she was younger. In her orbit it said that Nancy always liked to say she was married for 50 years......just not to the same guy.
