My mini poodle is the smart one, but I've fallen in love with my last rescue a field English Setter.
Such a sweet perceptive loving gentle soul! Problem with her is that if she wants out she clears our six foot tall chainlink fence. She doesnt climb. She jumps it from a sitting position. Done it in front of my eyes. So a human has to be watching her anytime we let her out in the yard. Other than that she is the perfect dog.

Nah, abdicating is for kings or queens' he is too far removed. His title (Duke of Sussex) was granted by the Queen and she could take it back, but s he won't. They really don't have much power at all, and if she gets out of hand beyond what is tolerable to the throne, they'll be packed off somewhere.
What is funny is that the last two kings I think, if not the last three, were second born sons. Mostly by death of the eldest, but of course EII's uncle famously abdicated.
The Cambridges undoubtedly had Louis to buck that trend; the poor Duchess gets too sick in her pregnancies for me to think otherwise. I am surprised a 4th isn't already on the way, given Henry's bumptious bride, but perhaps they're worried about Catherine's age.

William's entire line would have to be wiped out to get Harry (and his spawn line) in.
It used to be male preference primogeniture, meaning the boys came in birth order before any girls, but they changed that before the birth of William's first kid.
They didn't make it retroactive, so it didn't change the existing line, but any new girls born will be in birth order.
This means there is a possibility of a crown princess, and the rules about that will have to be modified to accommodate that if it happens.

It used to be male preference primogeniture, meaning the boys came in birth order before any girls, but they changed that before the birth of William's first kid.
They didn't make it retroactive, so it didn't change the existing line, but any new girls born will be in birth order.
This means there is a possibility of a crown princess, and the rules about that will have to be modified to accommodate that if it happens.

I have an issue that is puzzling me.
My left turn signal only works intermittrntly. The rest of the functions in the assembly work correctly (right signal, emergency flashers, windshield wipers, etc.), but the left signal only works for awhile if I drive over sufficiently jarring bumps in the road. Replacing the assembly did not solve the problem. Ideas?

I would be looking at bad bulbs, front or rear, or bad sockets and ground for those lamps. Some turn signal flashers will not start flashing if they do not "see" enough load. If the car has LED signal lamps, it should have an electronic flasher that doesn't have to sense a load to start.
Late-model cars can be hard to diagnose for some of this stuff because even the simplest functions are often mediated by the Engine Control Module or the Body Control Module.
Type "(make and model) turn signal problem" into a search engine, and see what you find. There may well be a Ewetoob tutorial on it.

Everybody's bummed by bad external events. But if they're internal events, with no obvious connection to recent external ones, it's time to see someone. Everyone has ups and downs on a day-to-day basis; a longer term down, with no discernible external source, warrants seeking help. There's no opprobrium attaching to that, any more than there is seeking help if you've broken a bone.

I'd bet on a bad ground. Consult a Chilton's Online Shop Manual, and identify EVERY grounding point in your electrical harness. Pull the flanged screw, wire-brush the area the screw seats on, wire brush the screw, wire brush the spade connector. Spray it all with contact cleaner, and re-fasten.
If that doesn't work, it's likely an open short or cold solder joint somewhere in the harness. That's time for a test light, and more patience than I possess.
..A little advice, please? Our 2002 Suzuki Vitara is wobbling on its last legs. Problem is that the Vitara/Chevy Tracker is no longer sold in the U.S. (The Vitara and the Tracker are pretty much the same vehicle. They are the smallest SUV.) Does anyone know if there is something comparative on the market? We don't have a lot of money to spend. The XO wants four wheel drive. Omaha snow storms can be pretty vicious.

Alas, that class of Suzuki based vehicles can never again be sold in the U.S. market. Safety regulations prohibit such a light weight vehicle, as they cannot build in enough steel to pass all of the collision tests.
Early 2000s Ford Escape in the manual transmission 4x4 will be your best bet. Search hard and be patient, till you find a fairly low mileage example.

A bad ground on taillights and such used to cause some very crazy behavior. It's one of the problems caused by a frame return only with no dedicated return wire.
With 12V, there's no danger, but with voltages high enough to be a shock hazard, you do not want to do that.

If it's a 2000, then most likely the flasher circuit is old-school, and does not involve the body module, and there are probably no LED bulbs. Step one: determine if ALL the lamps for left turn work/don't work. There are often 4 or more, now.
Do the rear turn signals share bulbs with stop lamps? If they don't, usually there will be rear amber lenses for turn signals, but not always. Have a helper work the signal switch, and tap the brakes (separately and together) and see which bulbs illuminate. A "wrong side" bulb glowing or blinking dimly is a tipoff to a bad ground on the side being flashed.

Internal events are tougher, because they're in the realm of neurochemistry. Chemistry plays a huge, albeit under-appreciated, role in behavior. Were you interested in girls at age 10? How about age 15? Did you consciously make that decision? No, of course not.
But there's no need to endure without succor pain resulting from internal events, which pain actually precludes successful resolution. That bespeaks depression, which has afflicted such luminaries as Lincoln and Churchill. Modern pharmacology (e.g., SSRIs) can help with providing some breathing space when it seems the world is pressing in on one, a breathing space that can help in dealing with the internal events.

And, to be honest, the last ten years or so have been pretty boring by comparison. In a good way.
I wouldn't change the life I've had. Wouldn't trade one yesterday for a thousand tomorrows. They all are part of who I am.
That said - I'm 36, and half the bones in my body ache when it rains. 14% of the surface of my brain is scar tissue. I spent most of my twenties in hiding/fighting the law courts for my freedom. I did my first time when I was fifteen for G-d's sake. I've had my heart broken several times, and have done it to a couple others. I spend every day remembering my sins, and wondering if I can EVER make up for them.
So while I wouldn't change it, I have more than enough regret for it.
You skipped all that shit. Living over the top ain't all it's cracked up to be.
I envy the people who kept it on the straight and narrow.
Don't waste time worrying about what could have been. That's on the road behind. You're a fantastic guy, and I'm certain - absolutely fucking certain - your best days are ahead.

Good luck. If I were there, I'd be happy to come by and fix it. That sort of electrical troubleshooting is something I am good at. But I have some background in electrical circuit theory. Many auto mechanics are poorly trained in matters electrical, which is a crying shame, because so many automotive problems now have an electrical side to them.
I had a weird one on my F150 last week. Driver's door power window would not go down. Took door apart, fed motor directly from a small battery; it ran fine both directions. Motor: OK. Replaced the scratched glass while I was in there. Tested switch. Appeared to be OK. leastwise the funky pattern of closed/open contacts was the same in driver's door switch as it was in the other three. Switch provisionally ruled out. There is a relay in the circuit. One, and only one, called the "one-touch" relay. It does that thing where the window goes all the way down after one quick touch on the switch. Now, it clicked when the switch was depressed, so I thought it was OK. But I took the cover off it anyway. Guts looked OK, too. Nothing burnt. Put cover back on, plugged it in, and window went down...once. Went back up fine, would not go down again. Wiggling and tapping relay got it to move a little. Found a similar relay in my parts bin. Plugged it in: window works fine. So it was a bad relay.
One other thing, Cap: does the van have a trailer connector? Some people do a pretty shoddy job of wiring up the trailer connector, and splices get corroded, and become intermittent.

So, that's a wicked accurate deer rifle, a quality scope to match, and a sidearm in the bargain.

M1 carbine is a very fun, versatile gun. Real ones are now $$$ unless you find a good local deal. Repros a bit less - Kahr/AutoOrdnance or the new Inland.
And of course there are lots of nice pistol-caliber carbines now, from many makers, including Ruger and CZ among others mentioned above.

Are you perhaps thinking of Rock Island? It's a Filipino pistol I've got one in that price range. Match grade barrel and all. Only thing is I don't love the smooth, bulky rosewood grips, but that's easy and cheap to change out.

It's highly likely that she spent three years suffering learning how hard big-firm lawyers have to work, got a chance to move over to the political side of things, and never looked back.

I have never owned a leaf blower. I used to use my old mower which had a "bagger" and would suck up leaves. But my yard was also full of pine trees and I would fill the bag in one track with the mower, so I even quit with that. I figured I havn't lost anything in those leaves. Besides, I had all my pine trees cut down after Hugo so not much in leaves out there.

In the old days people would not even mow their grass on Sunday. Saturday after 9 am was the favorite time for most people to mow grass.

When I first bought my house the non-wooded area of the yard was less than 1/2 acre and I could mow it in 30 min with a push mower. Wifey just had to have all the scrub oaks cut down. There was a good reason for that. Obama left the party with nothing but debt. Hillary had lots of money, so she agreed to pay off the DNC's debts... provided they were willing to put her people in key positions. The way the superdelegates worked in 2016 she already had it wrapped up before the primary season even started.

The Super Delegates are State Party big-wigs for each State who want to make sure the candidates toe the Party line. That way the Party as a whole can have a big influence on their convention. They do that by counting Super Delegate votes by a higher multiple and normal delegates. The Democrat convention gives them a much large multiple for voting than the Republican convention.

You can't have a continuous stream of 5-4 decisions and maintain any credibility. If the court was non political and judged based on the Constitution, we would be seeing unanimous, 8-1 and rarely a 7-2 ruling. Anything else should be interpreted as a "hung" court.

They did change the rules, but they made the threshold so high that it likely is not going to make any difference and it will be the super delegates that decide who wins the nomination.
A candidate must get over 40% of the initial vote for the new rules to take effect making the super delegates vote for that person. If no one gets 40% it's free willy time.
And with three or four people pulling 10% plus there isn't going to be a single person who gets to that magic 40%.

Got into a discussion about the EC the other day with a guy. He is still mopping about hillary winning the popular vote but losing the EC. He claims that the EC was never in the Constitution and they just changed to it a few years back.

There was a mens rea component to it. That is, the
enforcement authorities are assumed to know your intent and if deemed
malevolent, then you are guilty of using the word.

You can't have a continuous stream of 5-4 decisions and maintain any credibility. If the court was non political and judged based on the Constitution, we would be seeing unanimous, 8-1 and rarely a 7-2 ruling. Anything else should be interpreted as a "hung" court.
We are better off being ruled by a Magic Eight Ball.

Only about 20 percent of sCOTUS decision are 5-4 -that number has remained fairly constant over the years . Almost 50 percent of decisions are unanimous, which is pretty remarkable since the cases they hear are the most difficult and controversial.

I use the Brave browser and use the "block all scripts" option for all the news sites. Videos don't play but I almost never want to watch then anyway. Blocks all the ads and most of the miscellaneous crap that the pages try to load.
The only drawback is a few local news stations refuse to work.
This also allows you to use interactive sites as usual.
