Nannystate Liberal Michael Bloomberg Putting Out Word He Might Jump Into Presidential Race if Biden Continues Bleeding Out of His Eye

"Bleeding out of his eye" is an old folk-saying meaning "fucking everything up like a retard."

The former mayor in March announced he would not run for president because he believed it would be difficult for him to prevail in a Democratic primary. He also saw former Vice President Biden as a viable moderate voice.

But a CNBC report Monday claims Bloomberg is reconsidering after seeing Biden stumble and lose ground to Elizabeth Warren.

A Bloomberg run is premised on Biden withdrawing from the race, however, sources told the outlet -- and that is unlikely, at least through the early voting contests. A Bloomberg spokesman had no immediate comment.

Meanwhile, there's still chatter that Hillary Clinton is raising her profile to make a late entry into the race possible, and now there's chatter about Michelle Obama entering the race as well.

An outfit did a poll to see how she'd do in a hypothetical bid in New Hampshire.

Former first lady Michelle Obama would enter the 2020 Democratic New Hampshire primary race as the frontrunner, a new Franklin Pierce University-Boston Herald poll has found -' though so far she’s insisted she won’t.

The poll, conducted Oct. 9-13, has Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden tied in the lead of the current Democratic field in the Granite State primary, with Bernie Sanders slightly behind.

"Today, the Democratic race is a statistical dead heat between Warren (25%), Biden (24%) and Sanders (22%)," pollster R. Kelly Myers wrote in his summary of the poll results.

The Democrats sure don't seem to be very happy with any of their announced candidates if they keep daydreaming about hypothetical ones.

The Bloomberg threat is interesting. Some Democrats -- the New York Wall Street types -- are the wokest, most partisan urban progressives imaginable, but they can't quite bring themselves to admit they are de facto socialists.

If Biden -- the alleged "moderate" (lol) -- loses to Warren, or becomes too stricken to continue, there's going to be an almost Trumpian war of the wings in the Democrat Party.

There's already the smell of panic in the air. Establishment/Corporatist Democrats see Tater Salad Joe losing to Elizabeth Warren, and they're beside themselves.

They've flooded him with money -- yet he still struggles. What else can they do?

With the electability claim diminished, Biden faces a steep climb on the merits of his record and current policy stances.

...

And in an era when small donations from the grassroots are adding up to big financial hauls, Biden is so uninspiring that he’s losing the money race by a wide margin. Despite his relentless harvesting of big checks from hedge-fund managers, rich CEOs and the like, Biden’s campaign raised a total of only about $15 million in the last quarter, compared to around $25 million that Sanders and Warren each received....

But Biden continues to greatly benefit from the orientations of corporate media outlets that loudly echo the concerns of corporate Democrats (often called "moderates" or "centrists") and their kindred spirits in realms like Wall Street....

A CNBC article summarized on-air comments from network star Jim Cramer: "The financial community is really worried about the possibility of Sen. Elizabeth Warren becoming president.” A theme among corporate executives, he said, is that "she's got to be stopped."

Such rumblings have grown louder since that broadcast five weeks ago, as Warren has surged into virtual ties with Biden in national polls. In late September, CNBC reported: "Democratic donors on Wall Street and in big business are preparing to sit out the presidential campaign fundraising cycle -- or even back President Donald Trump -- if Sen. Elizabeth Warren wins the party's nomination."

Trump's pouring gas on this smoldering fire, trolling the debate site with planes trailing signs that say Socialism Kills Jobs.

“SOCIALISM DESTROYS OHIO JOBS. VOTE TRUMP,” read the advertisement. The banner was visible starting at noon EST and the Trump campaign said it would fly the banner until 6:45 p.m., with a short break during the afternoon.

BTW: The debate starts at 8pm Eastern on CNN.

30 And it came to pass in those days, as it had come before and would come again, that the Dark lay heavy on the land and weighed down the hearts of men, and the green things failed, and hope died. And men cried out to the Creator, saying, O Light of the Heavens, Light of the World, let the Promised One be born of the mountain, according to the prophecies, as he was in ages past and will be in ages to come. Let the Prince of the Morning sing to the land that green things will grow and the valleys give forth lambs. 107 Shorter Bloomberg: vote for Biden or I'll tear up your playhouse. Cloud People issue edicts, not threats. Bloomberg simply will destroy anyone who threatens his wallet.

"The Bloomberg threat is interesting. Some Democrats -- the New York Wall Street types -- are the wokest, most partisan urban progressives imaginable, but they can't quite bring themselves to admit they are de facto socialists.
If Biden -- the alleged "moderate" (lol) -- loses to Warren, or becomes too stricken to continue, there's going to be an almost Trumpian war of the wings in the Democrat Party."

The Wall Street "libs" are virtue signaling frauds. They are used to throwing money at leftists, mouthing GoodThink and buying absolution. What's got the top tier's attention this time out is absolution isn't for sale with the younger Marxists. Warren, of course, can be bribed but the lunatics with whom she is playing footsie won't be satisfied unless the likes of Bloomberg are reduced to rubble. She'll have to do it, and Bloomberg and most of those in the good seats know it. Many of the non-Cloud People Wall Streeters still think they can pay lefty and mouth clichés but their betters realize the shit's about to get real.

They can't actually do the impeachment process. This entire thing has nothing to do with impeachment. It has three purposes as I can see it:

1) fundraising, as long as they keep beating those drums, they can milk the rubes for cash
2) giving the usual suspects at the fake news something to talk about instead of Biden etc
3) An excuse to dig into Trump and keep investigating him eternally as they said very openly and explicitly they'd do when Meuller Time ended up misery for them.

1) Socialism means they are going to get fleeced. Obama, Biden, Hillary, they talked the talk but privately assured the corporate types they would be protected. So why no publicly support and democrat who will privately support you? best of both worlds.

2) truth is they have no beliefs - just a belief in getting and staying rich. Alliance with the repubs causes the dems to threaten them (look at Koch), but vice versa is not true - they support the dems and the repubs just shrug. Nonsupport the left has no cost...unless it is the wrong kind of left, left like Bernie or warren.

291 Part of Trump's genius is two things 1) he sometimes plays the fool, when he isn't, and always leaves you guessing. 2) he knows exactly how to irritate the other guy, get him wound up and not thinking straight.

Look, this is grade school stuff. It ain't genius. It's bully tactics. But "smart" people like Schiff fall for it every damn time. "I'm pissed at that stupid Trump, so I'm going to show him...." Then they fail. then they convince themselves that their failure was just because of luck, or they didn't try hard enough, or some reason. Then they fall for it again.

Thing is, they could beat Trump. Easy. Just ignore him, take the high road, and do your jobs. When asked about some insult by Trump just say "well, that's Trump." Pass your bills. Focus on what you want to accomplish. Do your bloody job. Tone down the rhetoric. Don't jump at every thing.

351 Richard Nixon ran against George McGovern in 1972 and was reelected in a landslide winning winning 49 of 50 states (Massachusetts and DC went to McGovern) and receiving 60.7% of the popular vote to McGovern's 37.5%. Interestingly, one of McGovern's major Planks was a minimum annual income. Richard Nixon was reelected despite the Watergate Scandal. It was thought the Watergate burglars were looking for evidence that the Democrats were accepting foreign money for their election campaign. Who'd have thunk it? Nixon was impeached with Republican votes. He was not convicted because he resigned. Donald Trump by contrast has committed no rationally impeachable act. Today we have to worry about Mitt Romney and Ben Sasse but I don't believe the Democrats will ever vote on impeachment anyway. During one of his rallies, the one where he described how Joe Biden got to be President by kissing B.O.'s backside, Donald Trump also said the only thing these people (the Dems) understand is is a "crushing defeat". I think that is correct and Donald Trump will win. The polls aside from being dishonest, do not accurately reflect the popular vote. Many will vote for Trump in the privacy of the voting booth even if they don't publicly support him. However, because of the commyfication of American since Watergate, I think its too much to hope for 49 states. And forget about D.C.

353 I know a lot of posters here like to play what if with folks jumping in the race at the last minute.

It happened in the past when you actually had conventions that meant something. It is quite another dealing with the primary system and the Democrat's primary system is even more cack handed than the Republicans. One of the reasons that candidates start so early is that it is necessary to try out campaign themes, build teams in key states, and win enough donors to one's side to carry on. Right now, most of the top Dem talent in the field are already signed up--that means that a latecomer simply will have to get by with people not ready for prime time and that lack key relationships with state party people in the primary states.

Even Michelle Obama or Hillary would have trouble putting the band back together on short notice. Obama's key election people in 2008 and 12 are earning fat salaries trading on their cachet, Hillary's have went to ground and the minor functionaries are with other candidates. It can be even worse for other non-traditionals that have been suggested like Oprah etc.

Bloomberg basically brings one thing to the table which is money--it can buy ads, a semblance of a policy positions, etc. but it doesn't necessarily buy love. It sure would not bring much interest from the Bernie/Warren folks nor minorities. White males are simply not the future of the Democratic party at the top as its base becomes more and more represented by minorities. Primary and caucus electorates are even more "woke" so he would have to promise the moon to even get the nomination which will affect his general election chances.

His candidacy might peel off a few well off quasi Republican voters on the left from Trump assuming that he got the nomination but probably not do as well as identity/socialism radicals on the left. An independent run would probably throw the election overwhelmingly to Trump in the electoral college by splitting the anti-Trump vote.

Bloomberg might do okay if Trump wasn't the nominee but I suspect that Trump knows every little dirty secret of Bloomberg and relish reliving Bloomberg's mistakes as mayor--such as Hurricane Sandy response, bring up the stop and frisk to separate him from minorities, and so on. Streetfighters tend to win ugly elections and debates, not someone who acts like Dukakis.

Remember Trump went forward in June of 2015 and found it difficult to attract some of the best political talent until much later.

354 Thanks, Whig. I've tried to make that point before but you said it better. Brokered conventions and suprise nominees belong to an earlier age, a different type of politics. Back in the day, the parties would be run by a limited number of party bosses who each had big bundles of delegate votes that they could guarantee, barter, and sell. You could get those bosses in the proverbial smoke filled room, cut a deal that gave everyone there something they wanted, and the nominee would be whoever they said it would be.

but that world is gone, it no longer exists. And any last minute candidate will fracture the party and produce total disaster.
