More: It turns out that Robin Pogrebin wrote the promotional tweet for her promotional article/smear promoting her book that has all the #Woke brigades up in arms.

The left is acting like this is the big scandal here -- not that this article fails to mention that the alleged victim denies any memory of this farcical allegation (which, as far as I can tell, was actually made by Clinton lawyer Max Stier, who claims he "heard" things).

This is the scandal, they're saying: that the tweet used to promote this story said something about penises being harmless. To wit:

Having a penis thrust in your face at a drunken dorm party may seem like harmless fun. But when Brett Kavanaugh did it to her, Deborah Ramirez says, it confirmed that she didn’t belong at Yale in the first place.

Well, that's, whatever, not a terrific sentence but on the other hand, who cares?

I kind of think the deliberate omission of key information while making a smear for personal economic gain was the bigger sin, but that's just me.

And now, this guy now alleges that the co-author of this article, and the co-author of the book the article is intended to serve as puffery for, wrote this tweet her very own self:

This really puts lie to the claim of "multiple layers of painstaking fact-checking and editorial oversight," doesn't it? Just handing out the Times' twitter keys to any flunkie with an agenda and book to promote?

A friend says it's as if the New York Times just gave her the keys to the car and said, "Keep it under 90 and top off the tank when you're done, huh?"

I'm thinking that there was no editor involved, not really, in the original article. I'm thinking this pair just turned in their article and it went to press with almost no checking at all.

It gets worse: Phil Kerpen is bumping this old find from November 2018.

It turns out this same Robin Pobrebin tried to "force feed" a quote to a Ramirez friend, trying to contrive some (spurious, journalist-invented) corroboration for her "recovered memories."

The exact text is below, but here's my take:

The friend says "I know nothing of this and I haven't spoken to Ramirez in a long time. She's political, and I'm not."

So this "reporter," desperate to find or create any corroboration for Ramirez's claim, floats this idea: How about saying that after this incident, she became very very political? As in, wink-wink, something must have happened to drastically change her personality.

And what could that something be, besides Brett Kavanaugh's Baleful Pud of Despair?

The woman declined to repeat the lines this "reporter" had pre-written for her:

My husband was out of work over 2 years. He pretty much gave up after a year. He just started a job a month ago. He wasn't even looking but a random recruiter called then he got an email from a second one and got them confused. Wound up working for the one who emailed. He too is 29 and works in a field that is much younger demographically. He's one of only 2 white guys too.

Indeed. And since the two others have found new jobs, they won't be competing with Hadrian for the next round of job openings to crop up. I'd say outlook-wise, it's better for the other two to both be employed, than unemployed. Means there is some hiring going on, at any rate. 321 Hadrian, I feel your pain. I had to resign to care for my mom and dad the last year. They both passed within the last 10 months and at 62, I'm looking to go back to work. Haven't even gotten an interview which has stunned me. I have an accomplished history, am a documented revenue producer and never had a problem moving on up throughout my career until now. It's like I'm invisible. I'm looking at getting creative but can't wrap my head around anything specific yet. I contacted, and had lunches with, contacts, etc but nothing. Trouble is not far off. I may end up scanning groceries at Winn Dixie. Remember, old age isn't for sissies.

I feel that way sometimes, I let emotion (generally anger) overrule logic and facts and it gives these smug, condescending assholes the upper hand.

My friends are really important to me, true friends are a blessing in life. The Horde are good friends, I may not engage with everybody, but I'm always following your thoughts and stories. I have learned a lot here.

A masters in Econ is more logically based and more mathematical than a Psy PhD and I suspect that you have a better grasp on stat than a Psych PhD. given econometrics.

The other way is that the percentage of mentally ill or those with significant mental issues are pretty high in psychology as they want to understand what is wrong with them. Probably even higher in graduate programs along with competing to be the smartest person in the room syndrome.

Back in my college days, there was a stunt called "the one-eared elephant". The perpetrator would be induced to walk around a gathering with his junk hanging out the open zipper, and one pants pocket turned inside-out, simulating the elephant's ear. Copious amounts of alcohol were involved. Quite often a hazing ritual, or a simple dare. If Kav were involved in such an event, he'd be about as much a "victim" as the gal who was made to reach out and feel the elephant's trunk. It's not in any way a willful sexual assault.

451 I'm one of those "best if used by date" guys. Way past. I went through a massive lull in work a few years ago. I ended up completely rewriting my resume in a certain way that is fashionable these days.

My original style was pretty technical and was directed at hiring managers. Now it's happy, happy, joy, joy eyewash with hip kewords for the scanners and "Britineys" in HR. Over half the people I talk to initaly have no idea of what is involved with the terms involved.

I admit I was proud of my accomplishments but thay is not what gets you to the next level these days, plus you need to loose all but the lat 20 years of your career and drop all the dates on your degrees, etc.

I don't want to piss you off but the jobs are out here, even for mature folks. Employers seem desperate. The economy is very hot. It's embarrasing getting several calls a day from recuiters while I'm at work.

It's important to get your resume in front of actual hiring managers. They are dying for qualified people, hence the interest in folks who have "way too much experience".

There is a popular website that can help you find out who is behind the curtain at companies. A GOOD recruiter is nice to have too. Hard to find but maybe talk with your friends who got hired.

Friday night, we dine in Hell. Literally. We'll be at the Hell Saloon in Hell, Michigan for dinner around 6:30-ish. After dinner, we'll return to the cabin campsite built on the cursed ancient Indian burial ground just down the road from the state prison for the criminally insane for ukulele practice.

During the day on Saturday, we'll be hanging out at the cabin, whittling entire trees into toothpicks & just generally relaxing. The roundtable discussion topic this year is "IKEA Shelving: Threat or Menace?", followed by small unit tactics practice.

Saturday evening we'll go in to town for diner at the BBQ joint around 4:30; after which we'll return to the campsite for a large thermal event & pants-less dancing to the finest ukulele band in all the land.

If you have a sense of adventure & questionable judgement, there are a limited number of berths still available in the bunk-house style cabin. Let us know if you plan on over-nighting on site.
