Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Saturday Afternoon Chess Thread 09-14-2019Jessica Basland (FRA) Pic Note According the French Chess Federation, Ms. Basland's rating is 1100. This is quite low. The good news is that, of all the hotties whose pics I've posted on the chess thread, she is the only one we morons have a ghost of a chance of beating. Blog Note Due to my schedule this week, I ran out of time before I could put together some chess problems. I should be back on my normal schedule next week. The fishing thread will be up sometime later today. As always, the chess/dress pr0n thread is an open thread, so there is no such thing as an off-topic comment.

Naturalfake, that sounds like a fun theme night! I might add "Sucker Punch", which I enjoy no matter what other people say.
John Nolte recommended “Peppermint” so I'm giving it a spin. If any of you haven't seen it, it’s about a nice young suburban mom (Jennifer Garner) whose family gets gunned down by thugs when her husband refuses to go in on a delivery job. She survives the hit and identifies the gunmen, but the judge dismisses the case. She disappears for five years and comes back loaded for bear and possessing certain skills. The rest is a nice bug hunt against the cockroaches that infest L.A. and the legal system. It’s not a deep movie, it’s vigilante porn, but I will give it extra points for having the drug peddlers be cartel/MS-13 and not rich white guys. Her hideaway in plain sight is Skid Row. The imdb comments question the critics panning it…..hmmm. Posted by: All Hail Eris, She-Wolf of the 'Ettes 'Ettes at September 14, 2019 06:19 PM (kQs4Y) 91

Posted by: t-bird at September 14, 2019 07:07 PM (Qwtw1) China also removed limits on foreign investments in Chinese companies last week. They are hurting for capital. And when the president hit them with new tariffs in early September and China's response was to go to the WTO and cry foul that look like a tell that they weren't going to up the ante any more. Trump may be close to having them fold. cue Kenny Rogers Posted by: TheQuietMan at September 14, 2019 07:11 PM (/+OAp) 196

I really need to win the lottery, I need to afford an electrician for the house.
Changing bulb in kitchen light fixture and one of the wires going up in the box pops loose. All keeping the wires together were the plastic twist caps, there was no electrical tape. Quick trip to Wal-Mart netted me a bag of those caps, a roll of electrical tape, and some more light bulbs. So wrap the loose wire with wire in box. Wrap the join in electrical tape. And put a new cap over that. Then get to the wire that did not pop loose. And do the same thing. Now got light in kitchen again but I am thinking the whole house needs to be rewired since previous owner had used an unlicensed electrician which managed to escape the house inspectors before I bought. We're not talking Reaper knock-offs. COTS cargo drones carry enough now that you could fly them out of a van. Over the fence, land on an important pipe. Celphone detonate a few pounds of dynamite and it's a hot time at the old refinery tonight. This will slow the GCC's assault on Yemen approximately 0%. More than likely the Houthi's had people on the ground with targeting lasers. Iran has all of the above technologies, perhaps even the satellite connection, but this does not discount a locally controlled event. (Dudes on the ground with a joystick.) Just to neaten things up. Also tightened the screws on some feed-through bushings for about 7 other circuits I ran earlier in the year. And made ready two more feed-through bushings (they go through the tin roof of an old mobile home) for 2 circuits to the new bathroom. One will be a 20A GFCI circuit, dedicated to the bathroom, and the other a 15A lighting circuit for fixtures in both the bathroom, and the back bedroom. No receptacles allowed on that one.
