According the French Chess Federation, Ms. Basland's rating is 1100. This is quite low. The good news is that, of all the hotties whose pics I've posted on the chess thread, she is the only one we morons have a ghost of a chance of beating.

Funny thing, though, is I bet Trump is a great friend to his friends. I watched a crime show on a woman convicted of having her rich husband killed. It happened a while ago, but she and her husband had spent leisure time with Donald Trump and Marla Maples when they were married. Did various stuff together. The convicted lady was being interviewed and talking about what an angel Marla is...and how Donald Trump was very fun to be around, and funny. She had the time of her life with them.

I particularly like Jennifer Garner as an action chick.

And that the movie (mostly) has her using a gun or knife or brass knuckles or some combination of those in her fights with men.

We had Angry Revenge Girl Action Movie Night a few weeks ago with "Peppermint", plus

Another excellent Korean action movie -

"The Witch: Part One - The Subversion"

Great action, nice twists, excellent acting.

“Peppermint” so I'm giving it a spin. If any of you haven't seen it, it’s about a nice young suburban mom (Jennifer Garner) whose family gets gunned down by thugs when her husband refuses to go in on a delivery job. She survives the hit and identifies the gunmen, but the judge dismisses the case.

She disappears for five years and comes back loaded for bear and possessing certain skills. The rest is a nice bug hunt against the cockroaches that infest L.A. and the legal system.

It’s not a deep movie, it’s vigilante porn, but I will give it extra points for having the drug peddlers be cartel/MS-13 and not rich white guys. Her hideaway in plain sight is Skid Row. The imdb comments question the critics panning it…..hmmm.

We are only just beginning - this will probably take us until at least October to get through everything. We will not spend large numbers of hours on it at one time. Neither one of us can take it for that long!

Then, we have to do the attic in the garage. I'll be a grandma before that gets finished. (None of my kids are married or even engaged, if that gives you an idea of the timeframe.)

Changing bulb in kitchen light fixture and one of the wires going up in the box pops loose. All keeping the wires together were the plastic twist caps, there was no electrical tape. Quick trip to Wal-Mart netted me a bag of those caps, a roll of electrical tape, and some more light bulbs.

So wrap the loose wire with wire in box. Wrap the join in electrical tape. And put a new cap over that. Then get to the wire that did not pop loose. And do the same thing.

Now got light in kitchen again but I am thinking the whole house needs to be rewired since previous owner had used an unlicensed electrician which managed to escape the house inspectors before I bought.

Not to be augmentative, but my house was built entirely by licensed, insured and bonded tradesmen. I have fixed many screw ups and redone a boatload of shoddy work - it isn't funny. Shortcuts galore and downright dangerous wiring. (14 ga circuits that, by code, should be 12 ga wire, etc.)

Having a licensed tradesman is no guarantee of a good job - at least in my area. Some of the inspectors shouldn't be.

Perhaps you'll have to find a guy/gal you trust and have them assess the condition of the entire system and take it from there.

If you've ever watched Restaurant: Impossible on the Food Network, which is essentially a "try to turn a restaurant around by renovating the building and redoing the menu", they advertise for carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc to apply to work for free, since the "renovation budget" is only $10 grand. They're advertising this for a restaurant around here, with the episode to be filmed later this month. They do this all over the country. One of the caveats is that you have to wear plain clothes; ie. you're not advertising your company.

If wire nuts are installed properly, and that includes using wire nuts properly matched to the size and number of wires being joined, you need no electrical tape. Not half an hour ago, I made a join in some Romex in an octagon box, and used no tape on the wire nuts.

Just to neaten things up. Also tightened the screws on some feed-through bushings for about 7 other circuits I ran earlier in the year. And made ready two more feed-through bushings (they go through the tin roof of an old mobile home) for 2 circuits to the new bathroom. One will be a 20A GFCI circuit, dedicated to the bathroom, and the other a 15A lighting circuit for fixtures in both the bathroom, and the back bedroom. No receptacles allowed on that one.

They do, and I have used it in automotive applications, like tying in a trailer connector.

Now it's back to the attic for me. See if I can run my #12 and #14 wires for the bathroom circuits. They don't have to run very far, maybe 24 feet each.

It's a matter of choice. Code does not require it. Some electricians use tape on wire nuts to mark dedicated circuits that should not be tapped into.

Not to be augmentative, but my house was built entirely by licensed, insured and bonded tradesmen. I have fixed many screw ups and redone a boatload of shoddy work - it isn't funny. Shortcuts galore and downright dangerous wiring. (14 ga circuits that, by code, should be 12 ga wire, etc.)

Having a licensed tradesman is no guarantee of a good job - at least in my area. Some of the inspectors shouldn't be.

Perhaps you'll have to find a guy/gal you trust and have them assess the condition of the entire system and take it from there.

Yup. About four years after we moved into our brand-new completely-built-by-professionals house we had a minor issue with the hot water heater and the guy who came to fix it said we were lucky to still be alive because the hot water heater and the furnace were both venting improperly.
