I don't want to steal all of the grim details testimony has disclosed, but here are a few horrors:

I know a lot of conservatives and Republicans that were small government and fiscally conservative, but they really had not much use for the pro-life wing of the party, the sanctity of marriage wing of the party and the Judeo-Christian wing of the party.

Something weird has happened though over the last 5-10 years. The actual evil of leftism has opened a lot of conservative eyes to the fact that you can't just ignore the culture wars. The culture wars are the war, not a side skirmish.

I, like, would tell you if I had a problem. And yeah I got some pretty heated flames right back. But that's fine. At least we knew where we all stood. Eventually I got convinced in a certain direction (not the direction everyone here might have taken, but hey).

If Will couldn't just up and say "I think Christianity is sh!t and here's why: x, y z" he'd have got respect, at least. Chris Matthews got respect. Richard Dawkins gets respect in part. Even Bill Maher when he's not being a dick.

case history: Fed Judge Tigar put a nationwide stay on Trump's asylum policy a couple months ago. On appeal to the 9th Circuit, they cut it back, said he could only put a stay on the policy for the 9th Circuit states. Monday, Tigar re-issued his stay, telling his bosses at the 9th Circuit "you're not the boss of me! I can do anything I want!!!" So today, the 9th Circuit said "Oh yes we are the boss of you, and your ruling is on indefinite hold because we're slapping it with an administrative stay."

and that's where things sit tonight.

The judiciary is way, way, way outside its defensible purview, it usurps constantly, it brazenly ignores explicit statutory limitations on its jurisdiction [see TPS case], it grants standing frivolously in order to interfere in matters it historically had lacked the arrogance to mess with [hilariously referred to as "deference"], and on and on.

The moment the ridiculous, baseless suits against the travel EO were engaged by the administration - instead of the court's jurisdiction and the plaintiffs' standing repudiated - it was off to the races.

A president has tremendous power in the areas in question - constitutional, statutory, and historically customary. The courts have had close to none, as it should be. I want Trump to fulfill Scalia's warning, and [oh yes] even the warning by Roberts in his dissent in Hamdan v. Bush, that the judiciary might eventually discover the limits to its [improperly usurped or used] power the hard way.

The legal challenge to the new policy has a brief but somewhat convoluted history. U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar in San Francisco blocked the new policy from taking effect in late July. A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals narrowed Tigar's order so that it applied only in Arizona and California, states that are within the 9th Circuit.

That left the administration free to enforce the policy on asylum seekers arriving in New Mexico and Texas. Tigar issued a new order on Monday that reimposed a nationwide hold on asylum policy. The 9th Circuit again narrowed his order on Tuesday.

The high-court action allows the administration to impose the new policy everywhere while the court case against it continues.

265 Long time lurker (since 9/11) and I rarely post. I had a beautiful, healthy happy daughter who died in a day care center while I was at work in 1990. She was six months old, my beautiful daughter, Courtney. Just one day before, I had taken a photo of her; she was smiling ear to ear, crawling, teething - the day care workers propped her with a bottle and left her alone. When my husband got there to pick her up they went to get her and she was dead.

What breaks my heart is that it is an inconceivable loss; a life long heartache of wondering what 'might have been'. I held on to my strong faith that she 'died in her sleep'. It was a few years later when my husband told me that she died with her eyes open.

These ghouls, these demons, these abominations that call themselves humans (and doctors!) should and shall be condemned to Hell and I pray that their deaths will be as horrific violent and horrific as the children that they willingly killed, for profit.

There are no words that I can say to express my utter disgust, disdain, loathing and anger toward those who kill children. What human being could do such a thing? They should be doxxed, publicly shamed, outed and be forever stained with the blood on their hands.

Thanks for reading; love all you posters - you help keep me sane most of the time but this time I just had to get this off my chest/heart.
