The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg

"One of the slurs constantly being thrown at Trump by the left and their catchfarts in the media is that he's 'divisive.' This is such a stupid word. I mean, yes, he's 'divisive' in the sense that a sizeable portion of Americans voted for him and a slightly larger portion voted against him, but why is that his fault? It's not as if his campaign was all 'I want a vote from you, but you, yes you over there, your vote I don't want.' Trump never did that.

Also, Trump wasn't the candidate who called many Americans 'deplorable'. Trump wasn't the candidate who called many Americans 'bitter clingers'. Now, it's that sort of language that's divisive. Funny how the incurious mainstream media never calls out such rhetoric as 'divisive' when it comes from Democrats. They never tell their audiences that divisiveness is foundational to how progressives advance their agenda. They never tell their audiences that what progressives like to do is seize upon whatever grievances that may exist, rub them raw and pick at them until they're all bleeding, infected, and inflamed. Progressives foment divisiveness, they don't alleviate it.

And make no mistake, Obama's minions were very adept at this, so much so that by the time he left office, they had managed to turn America into an open wound. So Trump didn't cause division, it was already there when he got here. In fact, I think it's just the opposite: Trump didn't bring division. Division brought Trump."

(h/t Ava Armstrong)

Update: An excellent point from Monty James

What drives me crazy about sniveling that something is "divisive", is that our Constitutional order is based on division. It is meant to accommodate division peacefully. Someone crying about "divisiveness" is really complaining that everyone is not bending to his will.

Friday's celebs: Bollywood actress Catherine Tresa (or perhaps Tollywood, I think she may mostly be in Tamil movies) and Richard Karn from the TV series Home Improvement. I thought he had disappeared after that series ended and was off doing lo-ball infomericals or some such, but according to his imdb.com page, he's been pretty busy since then, and does not appear to have been lacking for work. Good for him.

seize upon whatever grievances that may exist, rub them raw and pick at

Most of the divisiveness that the fringe prog leftards scream about is a total fabrication. If there's no divide, they'll make some up.

Their playbook on how to destroy a country from within is many thousands of years old: divide, then conquer.

A big part of that is done through destroying respect for anything and everything.

However, thanks to out university admissions putting much greater value on other activities, such as activism, and in general requiring students be more than just good students (must have many extracurriculars!!!), most of these formerly "teen" jobs are being filled with immigrants.

How long did it take before people were saying "Not my president", calling for his assassination, fantasizing about decapitating him, saying he stole the election, leveled false accusations, called him a racist/fascist/nazi, and - oh yeah - illegally spied on his campaign and used the full force of the Justice and Intelligence apparatus of the State to spy, entrap, and falsely accuse him of everything from treason to pee pee parties?

300 While over-winter and summer losses are still troublesome in places, they now occur overwhelmingly in hobbyist hives. Professional beekeepers, who handle the vast majority of US bees and hives, have learned how to control what was really, or primarily, behind the worrisome honeybee losses: Varroa destructor mites that arrived in the USA in 1987.

Bee larvae hatch with Varroa mites already attached to them, and these tiny parasites suck the hemolymph blood-equivalent out of bees, attack bee fat body organs, compromise their immune systems, and provide pathways for other viruses, diseases and fungal pathogens into bees and colonies.

The destructive mites infected hive after hive. What were once nuisance infections became devastating epidemics, and sometimes efforts to control the mites and diseases further damaged hives.

It worked. I wonder if something similar would work for bees.

350 Host: Ok, Ellen, are you ready?
Guest: Yes, Bob! Let's do this!!
Host: Ok!! Here we go! Ellen, you have thirty seconds to explain why *this* is racist --

[Curtain rises, displaying a set of four cork drink coasters on a coffee table]

Guest: Oh gosh, um, let's see, well those are coasters, we have some of those, hm, um, well you know I think they, ah, are evidence of white privilege, Bob, because, um, because, like, you need glasses, you know, drink glasses, to use them, and, um, lots of minorities, and like just about everyone in Africa, Asia, you know, they don't have glasses there. They also don't have coffee tables, Bob, they, you know, they can't afford them, they are busy working to feed their children, Bob, they only make like a dollar a month, and even a used coffee table is going to cost you fifty bucks, Bob, so it's really just all so really, really racist.

[Buzzer sounds]

Host: You did it, Ellen! Congratulations! You've won the grand prize!!

[Host walks over to Guest, shoots her in the head, then shoots himself in the head. Wild applause from audience.]

Announcer: Join us next week for another thriiiiiilllllling episode of "Everthing's Racist!" Good night everybody!

He did "More Than a Feeling" a while ago. It was fantastic! I had no idea there was that much going on in it. It's actually quite complex.

Bureaucrats in a socialist university in Europe used the term "divisive" in exactly that manner.

I suppose nowadays they might say "haram" instead.

431 Plenty of white kids at the fast food places here. And other non-whites. Its a good job to target for your first one because the training is fast, the jobs are simple, and there's huge turnover (often without the slightest warning) so there are always openings. With a big time franchise like McDonald's there's opportunity for rapid advancement and pay raises as well.

You get really really sick of the food they make though.

433 The plan is to just keep hammering away at the "White Supremacy" straw man until
white supremacist = Trump supporter in voters minds in order to
shame anyone THINKING about voting for Trump into thinking again....
Posted by: JoeF. at July 22, 2019 11:57 AM (NFEMn)

Of course, the downside of this (for them) is that if they keep saying 'white supremacist' over and over again, it's pejorative power will fade and eventually lose all meaning. And of course there's the phenomenon that if everyone's a white supremacist, then no one is.

The Marine Corps Light Marine Air Defense Integrated System (LMADIS) jammed the Iranian drone that the Trump administration said flew within 1,000 yards of a U.S. Navy warship, a defense official told Military.com.

The military site reports that the California-based 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, which includes about 2,200 Marines, deployed to the Middle East with LMADIS.

444 As I've been fighting a flu for the last two weeks, Ive been watching a great deal of YouTube. I saw an antkeeper who had a mite outbreak in one of his nests. A viewer spotted predatory mites on some of the antkeeper's other critters, so he tried harvesting some of these mites and seeing of they'd fight the parasitic mites.

It worked. I wonder if something similar would work for bees.
