142 Overthinking the Dem nominee for 2020 ...

It won't be Biden.

Since 1980, they've had 2 successful candidates.

Clinton won because of significant dissatisfaction of Republican voters who split with Perot.
Obama was because he was historic plus a dose of GOPe fatigue.

Hillary was to be another historic.

Trump polls 89% support of Republicans.

Without historic at the top of the ticket, the Dems have no motivation

And they'll never get Obama level turnout and support from blacks again--even if Obama endorsed him, they weren't voting for Biden then or now

open a brokerage account. If it is your first time you might want to go to an office and meet someone and talk about your plans. I see Fidelity offices around here a lot but if I had to pick a brokerage it would be Schwab. I assume they still have offices but it has been a long time. Of course you don't have to do that as you can do it all online. But if you are new, certainly talk with someone even if only on the phone.

People have nothing in their lives that give them meaning, so they attach themselves to memes ironically in order to fill the day. I don't believe there is an unlawful quanity of guns, so the "1,000 guns" is click bait.

Los Angeles police said at the time of the seizure, which it called one of the largest recoveries of weapons in LAPD history, that the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives received information that a person was selling and manufacturing illegal guns, which led to the search warrant.

This is a big flag .. LAPD is notorious for "loosing" seized guns .. which end up in the collections of members of LAPD

F4U-5P Bu No 122169, first -5P built, of VC-62 off USS Leyte was shot down over North Korea. The pilot was rescued but then the H-5H rescue helicopter ran out of fuel, killing all aboard.

337 Communists have been trying to use race as their entry card into the
U.S. for 100 years. Richard Wright, a communist at the time, wrote
extensively (in the 1930s and 40s) about their goal to use race and
white guilt to grow and fortify communism in the United States and how
it would work. In his most famous book, Native Son he wrote about
the criminal "Bigger Thomas," who despite being a rapist, a murderer,
and an abuser, is excused by the communists and defended because he's
such a clear example of what the US "society" creates by being racist.

What's going on now is EXACTLY this same scheme, or maybe they really believe it, I don't know.

It's
sorta amazing to watch this stuff and see the Frankfurt school, WEB
Dubois, Richard Wright (Obama hero) and global communism advancing the same exact plot they've been using for a century and no one seems to recognize it--except maybe Lindsey Graham, for the love of God.

So, when a show they like features talk of a McDonald's sauce that hasn't existed in 20+ years, they latch onto it and scream at McDonald's to bring it back. They do this in the internet space and in meat space. The idea is that there's ironic fun to it, but you can tell that it stems from some kind of void in their lives.

Modern life is really sad in many ways.

$25,000. Have watched all the episodes about this, including the finale last Sunday, where Mike, Frank, and Danielle present the van to Aerosmith. I'm not 100% sure how much it cost to preserve the van( Aerosmith and the pickers didn't want to fully restore it, just make it safe to drive and replace and age some of the non salvageable metal on it. Inside, the drivers seat still is bolted to 2 x 4's , etc.) The pickers were going to do it at cost only, but Aerosmith ended up giving them an additional $10,000 grand as a reward for their efforts. Well worth watching the episode, although man, the guys in Aerosmith close up really are showing their age.

496 I find the perceived lack of meaning to be a self-inflicted wound. It used to be, my parents being vile outliers, that raising a family, living a moral life and participating in basic community activities gave life "meaning". Now the left has so debased the idea of family and morality, and expanded community to include "the world", that many people are left grasping. The most depressed patients I ever had were ones who threw away any semblance of traditional life, chose a self-centered, hedonistic one, and became hopeless when they were left alone.

I refuse to believe such polls have any basis in reality. Totally made up numbers, from fudged sampling that nobody believes has any correlation to actual voters.

So Biden still has money behind him. And the mid level schlubs must do whatever they can to crawl out of the slime pit into the big time. I guess if you don't register any numbers, that means they're trying to tell you to go away, because I don't believe for a second Hickenloopy doesn't have ANY support, nor does Hippy Dippy Chick.

All at odds with the trend.

I think the most charitable reading of such things is to suggest that humans cannot contemplate the mind of the Creator, so we attribute to Him such notions as "hate" and "love," when in reality, we have no clue how that works.

It's an open question, as far as I'm concerned, as to whether the Creator has any affinity for us at all, or that the Supreme Being is even remotely interested in our comings and goings.

I believe God is God, and He does love us. I don't fear His hate. What scares me is His indifference.

Posted by: Insomniac at July 16, 2019 10:52 AM (NWiLs)

No. God is all good, he IS "good." Evil is the choice of the irrational in opposition to the rational movement toward the Good. Esau chose his own path by choosing the irrational, evil is the opposition of the good, divorce again is a free will choice to move against the objective good. Those are all things that man chooses in opposition to the rational, the Good which is, who is God. God allows men the free will choice to not choose Him and objective goodness and the consequences of those choices, but He doesn't "hate." He only loves and wants what is good, but doesn't stand in your way when you choose.......poorly (or even forgive the poor choice without your recognizing it, asking for forgiveness, doing penance, and accepting the consequences).
The supra-mundane mind of vast intelligence does not hate, it only allows the action of the free will. Being subject to the consequences of sin isn't because God hates.

575 Late to the game: "Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D)elusional said Saturday that if he is elected president, he will ask soccer player Megan Rapinoe to be his secretary of state."

Shit, why not Secretary of Defense? Prolly because he isn't planning on having a Department of Defense! Anybody fucks with us, he just releases the unicorns... and they know he's just crazy enough to do it, too!!

576 I stopped using fabric softener several years ago and have not noticed any difference, except my laundry doesn't come out of the dryer perfumed.

Recently I started using DeFunkify for laundry detergent and it seems to be working well. Gets out the odors and doesn't irritate my skin. Also simplifies my laundry routine, since I use it on both regular and delicate loads -- no special Woolite loads.

Pin the newspaper's stocks page on a corkboard.
Throw 10 or 20 darts at it.
Invest in the stocks that the darts hit.
