Shock! Female Millennial Clickbait "Journalist" Is Super Duper Impressed by Her Non-Accomplishments, Wants Experts to Defer to Her Non-Expertise

A "journalist" at noted leftwing clickbait outrage site New Republic.

All journalists do think this -- they think that merely being a reporter on some beat makes them a subject-matter expert on the beat covered.

If you're a science reporter -- pumping out fake "chocolate prevents heart attacks!" stories fed to you by a guy clowning on the media -- that makes you An Scientist. If you report on business or the economy, that makes you An Businessman or An Economist.

Any journalist who has ever written a short story about CERN thinks she's pretty much a high-energy physicist, only technically missing a credential here or there, but otherwise, yeah, a working high-energy physicist herself.

They really do believe this. "I wrote the word 'quarks' in an article one time! And now I can split atoms with my mind!!!"

Because they're stupid. The stupid do not know what they don't know.

Everything seems simple to the stupid, because they're simple-minded themselves.

And a friend points out: Five years doing something hardly makes anyone an expert. A medical doctor who's been a physician for five and a half years would still call himself young and inexperienced. A musician who's been doing it for five years would still think of himself as raw.

Again, only a complete incompetent looks at her completely unimpressive credentials and is impressed by them.

Bonus: Donkey-Chompers declares "Patriarchy has no gender."

Although Patriarchy has no gender, I'm reliably informed it does have a big old dicknballs.

thanks to steevy.

111 I agree completely with ace here but isn't that standard practice most everywhere - bestowing "expert" status to journo punks simply because they've written words that were then published? I mean that describes virtually ALL our sports "experts" - pencil necked canary chest men who have never athletically performed in any sport yet they babble on to the throngs who watch ESPN. It's time we openly mock these clowns and crumble their little pedestals. Perhaps that will be one of the parallel successes of the coming bloody revolt - - the dismantling of the Media Idiocracy.

If that person went on to basically ask the same questions of a bunch of other programmers who did the same thing as me, they might learn enough to ask intelligent questions and eventually get to the 1,000 foot view.

That's still a long mental slog away from actually knowing enough about a professional project to make improvements to that project and add new features and etc.

Even if they spent a while to learn how to do that, you'd STILL be miles and miles away from knowing enough about the cutting edge research going on at the PhD level and all the changes going on in the entire industry.

If a man did it another man would at best mock him, at worst kick him in the ass. So men learn to get their shit together before they reach the front of the line.

Tell me I'm wrong? Men are taught to be more decisive because other men mock and beat them if they are not.
