Black can also let white take the two pawns if he can force a drawn position. So white has to commit if he wants to win and black has to follow him to force a draw.

Black can start the race and both will queen. So.
2. Kc6 and now if white move towards the pawn he can catch the g pawn so black must start the race if he is going to do so.

About the same. At this point, it's not going to get appreciably better than the approx. 50% range-of-motion I have now. The orthopedic surgeon thinks he can get me an additional 20% (maybe) by doing an additional surgery to reposition where the prosthetic device is situated, but we're talking about another month of flat-on-my-back recovery, and so I decided it isn't worth it. I will live with what I have.

Climate change protesters have been arrested after they blocked traffic outside the New York Times building.

Trump is playing the long game here. He is in a perfect position now. The dems asked him to stop the deportations and he agreed if they come to the bargaining table. When they don't he can hammer them 24/7 until November 2020 and all he loses is two weeks. Which is a good thing because the DHS head leaked the raids to the press anyway.

If working out a "solution" equates to passing legislation Trump is OK with, they actually have less time than 2 weeks; the House and Senate are scheduled to be in session this upcoming week but out of session the entire week of the 4th of July. Since the 4th is on a Thursday, if needed they could cancel part of the recess week if they got something figured out that could get through both places. But Trump is pretty much setting things up that if the House Dems go home for that recess week he'll chide them for not being serious about the situation.

Back when I had cable (and when Syfy was Sci-Fi) I used to watch Sci-Fi original movies just for the abysmal CGI.
There was one weekend that had two movies in a row with Morena Baccarin, Adam Baldwin, and Jewel Staite. Getting second billing to execrable CGI monsters. And this was coming right off the Serenity/Firefly high, too. It was pretty surreal.

On a related note, I was wandering the beaches with my father down Chesapeake Bay way many many moons ago and there were Portuguese fishermen still running open boats and catching fish there. The neat part, was my dad knew the captain of the boat and they started a conversation and we went home with incredible fish for dinner. The interesting part was these guys were all less than 5'6", but every one of them was wiry and tough as nails and you would not want to mess with any of them!

The deportation operation was burned by leaks out of DHS so that delay actually makes sense. I'm a little confused by pulling back on the Iran strikes but I'm working with the theory that he's doing good cop/bad cop with Bolton. But the Mullahs need a war so there will be more provocations. Don't know what happens then.
