Axios: Democrats Buzzing About Possibility That Alexandria Donkey-Chompers May Primary Either Chuck "Bank Whore" Schumer or the Stupid Lightweight Kirsten Gillibrand

Axios doesn't mention this, but this happens while Democrats are also chattering about the possibility that they may redistrict Alexandria Donkey-Chompers' seat out of existence and force her into a primary fight with another incumbent Democrat, also serving part of the newly-formed district.

So is this a threat that if she doesn't have an easy seat to defend she'll take out the oleaginous, bank-servicing Schumer or the ditzy Dumb Wave Feminist Gillibrand?

None of this will probably happen, of course, but... I dunno, it's fun to contemplate.

Top Democrats tell "Axios on HBO" they expect Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may eventually primary one of the two New York senators -- Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in 2022, or Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in 2024.

Why it matters: AOC has instantly become one of the party's most coveted endorsers (up there with Clintons and Obamas) -- and has recently made common cause with Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a pairing that could take off.

A Harris poll for "Axios on HBO" shows socialism is soaring in popularity, especially with women ages 18 to 54 (55%) and younger Americans.

Corbin Trent, Ocasio-Cortez's communications director, said that when she thinks down the road, she thinks in terms of transitioning Democrats to a party that's unified around progressive policies.

Buick's Regal offers an AWD. My 2011, though slow-ish (it
lacked the turbo and so was only 180 hp) and FWD, was solid and reliable
for the almost five years I owned it. Their new one, the Sportback,
looks like a 4-door coupe and yet has a hatchback and 250 hp. And it
looks great and will save lots of $$$$. Have a look:

I'm certain it's accurate. People clamored for the feds to "fix" healthcare by making it three to four times as expensive for individuals while providing half the coverage.

Heck, only 25% of the population can name all three branches of the government. Not what they do, just the name. I doubt 5% of the country could give a coherent explanation of what socialism is. And both of those things work in favor of the left and their long-term goals.

Oh please. The old "Democrat Party", the party of Harry Truman and Jack Kennedy, has been dead and buried since the early 1970s. Ever since then it's been the Democrat Socialists. Only thing was, they had to conceal the Socialist aspect for a good long while because there were still too many WW II generation people around who remembered people like Stalin and Mao and who were not ready to fall into that trap.

But now, most of that generation has passed, and the baby boomers, who for the most part also remembered what socialism really is are also starting to age out, leaving the ignorant GenX/Y/Z/Millennial crowd as the majority (plus the huge influx of people from Third World shitholes who love feeding at the public teat as a matter of course), so now the Socialists feel safe in letting their freak flag fly, as it were. Which is why we now see Socialists like AOC, the Muzzie twats, Crazy Bernie and the like out there pushing their drivel openly and few are questioning it.

If brains were a prerequisite, we'd have to dissolve the Senate. Schemer has few virtues compared to AOC and more than a few additional vices. Cenk Ugyur might be a ridiculous media lightweight, which is ironic in the face of flab, but no more than the Schumerites who are already on their way out.

234 My brother is a very picky mechanical engineer and has been very happy with Buick products, now he's driving some sort of Buick SUV, but he hates the FlexFuel engine mod!

Really, FlexFuel doesn't do anything, it's a bit of a scam for the automakers to score alternative-fuel credits and all they really have to do is add in some way of sensing or calculating the alcohol content of the fuel.

What I loathe is start-stop, which is where the engine shuts off when come to a stop, and then when you push the gas pedal 'whing!' goes the starter and it's running again. Some restart far more smoothly than others, some stumble badly off the line, and you've got to wonder about starter-motor lifecycle testing.

These days you get into a rental car and you better hope it has the owner's manual in it. Either that or at your first stop you're busily googling away on your phone looking for an online copy.

I figured it was an anomaly until my neighbor came over the other day to borrow a torx bit.

A torx bit to change his air filter. Oh, and his battery is underneath the rear seat.

Nope. Even without the Obama/UAW bullsh*t, I don't have to be hit with a brick to know what to avoid.

My American cars, two of my three Fords, two Oldsmobiles, and two Buicks, were all reliable and solid, and got me where I wanted to go. Some were more fun to drive than others. But against that you can balance that you will pay less up front and less for parts than for an MB or Audi. And Toyotas and Hondas are not the shining examples of reliability that they used to be.

294 I don't see how you can ensure that an engine that will burn adulterated crap, as well as almost decent gasoline, will perform as well as an engine tuned to burn only 10% gasoline!

Flex Fuel:

a) Bigger injectors since you need to spray a lot more E85 than you do E10 for the same output level.

b) Some combination of sensors in the fuel and/or exhaust system to adjust the mixture to stoich regardless of the alcohol content.

c) Appropriate ECU coding.

There's not much more to it than that. In theory an engine with variable cam timing could fiddle the valve events to get a little higher compression with the E85, but I'm not aware of any that do it.

Mostly 'flex fuel' is just a way to spend $1 on the car to get alt-fuel credits.

Every car built since about 1980 already has most of this, you're just expanding the range of the sensors and the capacity of the injectors.

E85 is great for power if you build an engine specifically for it, you can run huge amounts of boost, but you also burn huge amounts of fuel.

The fun ones are the NGV engines, especially the Hondas. Natural gas burns so clean, there's no oil contamination, no combustion chamber buildup, they might actually last forever. Of course, you don't get that much range, you're limited on where you can refuel, and you lose half your trunk to that big pressurized NG tank that you'll always worry about a bit.
