Blue City Los Angeles is Drowing in Trash Due to Homeless Population; Experts Fear Rising Rat Populations and Return of "Medieval" Diseases Spread by Rats' Fleas

They love the science.

But they're a little skeptical of the science of rat-control, garbage collection, and densely packed populations with little access to toilets or showers.

Rat-infested piles of rotting garbage left uncollected by the city of Los Angeles, even after promises to clean it up, are fueling concerns about a new epidemic after last year's record number of flea-borne typhus cases.

Even the city's most notorious trash pile, located between downtown LA's busy Fashion and Produce districts, continues to be a magnet for rats after it was cleaned up months ago. The rodents can carry typhus-infected fleas, which can spread the disease to humans through bacteria rubbed into the eyes or cuts and scrapes on the skin, resulting in severe flu-like symptoms.

...

"I can't walk down the street without thinking that a flea could jump on me," said Estela Lopez, who represents business owners in the area.

...

An out-of-control rat population can even lead to the spread of dangerous strains of salmonella and bubonic plague, he noted.

Let's bring these Blue State Model ideas to the rest of the country so that we can all die of bubonic plague. That's fair and equal, right?

Meanwhile, although LA residents vote 90% in favor of open borders, they're not welcoming illegal immigrants dropped off in their city with the level of enthusiasm their virtue-signalling would suggest.

Due to overcrowding at the local south-of-LA migrant detention facility, about 100 migrants were released into the LA area.

Since this facility is located just south of Los Angeles and we're talking about a welcoming sanctuary state, they were greeted with open arms by caring locals.

Naw, I'm just kidding. People started showing up to protest or just "monitor" the situation to make sure they weren’t unleashed into the community.
...

One of the locals interviewed by CBS said he had heard from an unnamed law enforcement source that the migrants were going to be processed and released at nearby bus and train stations. That has them "concerned" and they will be watching to make sure it doesn't happen. The one quote from the guy is rather amusing. He's quick to point out that he's in favor of immigration and isn't a racist, but he just doesn’t want those people being set loose in his community.

Wait I don't understand -- doesn't LA want the dynamism and overflowing tax-coffers that hundreds of law-breaking, low-skilled immigrants will bring to their local economy?

What gives? I'm confuzamanated.

The advantage of Garmin products is that all of their maps are actually on the device. Almost everything else actively downloads the maps as they go.

So, if you're in a place with bad cell service, your phone could end up not being able to download the required map.

no, they do not want some of their rogue agents getting them kicked out of five eyes. they will get exposed. there is no reason not to release any documents involving their rogue agents and their involvement with misfud, halper, and downer.

they need to be in five eyes more than we need them in five eyes. most of their contribution to five eyes is geography.

5 Eyes is the name given to an intelligence sharing arrangement between 5 countries; the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

It also allows for potential abuse by making it permissible for countries to spy on citizens of a partner and share that information thus getting around the prohibition of a country spying on it's own citizens.

Trump just said when asked that he might bring the spying topic up with Theresa May during his visit.

Yes, there was a plan all along.

I thought the biggest cause of the trash pile up was two fold:

The city mandating that the amount of trash produced be reduced to reduce the impact on landfills

And removing the ability of the public to choose who they contracted with to remove their trash, and instead granting monopoly contracts to various geographic areas.

Imagine, just for a second, how much better life could be - if States kept their politics within the bounds of their own State, and Cities kept their politics within their own City Limits. That was one of the cornerstones of the founding of the Republic. And it's loss is one of the main reasons why this Republic has already fallen.

I blame a lot of people and a lot of legislation for this. The Civil Rights Act. The Supreme Court's notion of Incorporation. The South firing on Fort Sumpter. Wilson, FDR, and LBJ. But mostly ... I blame everyday people in both Red and Blue areas, using Politics so they can "fix" things in areas they don't even live in.

Things were better in the old, old days ... when you had to at least draw a sword or a gun and assume some personal risk to enforce your will on someone else. Doing it via Ballot and Lawyer is a coward's way - and it emboldens entirely too many cowards.

240 You can't get rid of motor homes, title-less cars and junk boats on the West Coast. Our transfer station used to take junk boats, but now wants you to show a title. This is why the affluent homeless are in motor homes. And I saw that there are folks in the Bay Area living on junk boats.

The good news is, at least up here, all the slackers we've been dealing with are finding jobs. It's truly amazing.

242 170 The migrants were released into the cit Murrieta Ca which is not "just south of Los Angeles". It's more than 90 miles from LA...a 2+ hour drive and it's in a different county. It is also a very conservative city and has been strongly republican for decades. So it should be no surprise that Murrieta's residents protested the dumping of illegals in their city.
Reporting that this event occurred in a sanctuary city, which Murrieta is definitely not, is...I hate to say it....FAKE NEWS..

Posted by: Donald R Wright at May 24, 2019 02:47

I couldn't understand the disconnect until I got on the finance committee of the Catholic Church in my meatpacking town. The parish is about 70% Hispanic, but we don't get much in the way of donations from the Spanish-speaking masses.

In asking around, I found out the reason for that was, essentially, "You white people are rich. You can take care of it." And they feel the same way about the illegals coming in. They aren't excited about the illegals in THEIR neighborhoods, and they sure don't want to pay an additional penny in taxes, but hey, all of us white people are rich, right?

Even though they're very NIMBY, Mexicans in this country still support the open borders/mass influx of immigrants thing. I couldn't understand the disconnect until I got on the finance committee of the Catholic Church in my meatpacking town. The parish is about 70% Hispanic, but we don't get much in the way of donations from the Spanish-speaking masses.

Mexicans that have been here for ten years don't want to help subsidize an El Salvadorian that just got here and will work for less money.

I was reading about Claude Rains the other day. Apparently he played his King John in the Errol Flynn Robin Hood with just the right suggestion of faggishness, so that someone asked him if he was using Bette Davis as his model. He smiled and didn't answer.

(By the way, Rains wasn't. He was married six times.)

Yep. And the cherry on top is the original Horowitz investigation of the Hillary email issue was started by two Democrats, Elijah Cummings and John Conyers.

They wanted to discover who was supposedly leaking information about that investigation and ended up with an enormous own goal.

Again I'm saying this about true ideologues. There are very smart people siding with the left that are just corrupt. Evil geniuses.

364 This business of "homeless people" defecating and trashing white working class districts in blue cities is only to be expected. You see in the progressive world view the white working class deserves this because they are er white.

The white working class voted for Donald Trump and doesn't have enough money to purchase the "virtue credits" needed to offset their whiteness like progressives do. In the minds of progressives this offset gives progressives the right to live out their lives in peace in wealthy gated communities.

This situation allows wealthy progressives not only to feel virtuous but to feel smug as well. They feel this way because as they all say at their fund raiser parties, this is what you get for voting for Donald Trump. The homeless, the medieval mess, the rats and flees and the white working class are just props in a progressive morality play. Whatever they say, just remember this : they hate this country and they hate you. As far as progressives are concerned the homeless are shitting on the right people and that's all that matters to progressives.
