The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

"The rule of law," "the appearance of impropriety," "an impartial judiciary." These and other phrases have become meaningless pablum to be tossed around to conceal the inarguable fact that we are no longer a nation of laws, but have descended into a third-world miasma of connections and favors and partisanship that is no longer hidden from the people because they will do nothing about it.

In another America, this judge would have recused himself immediately or faced impeachment. Now? He prances about, feeling oh-so-smug about his decision, and will surely become the toast of that incestuous bog called Washington DC.

Judge Who Ruled on Trump's Finances is an Obama Donor.

Amit Mehta, a U.S. federal judge, thrust himself into the public spotlight with an opinion earlier this month calling for President Trump’s accounting firm to turn over the president’s financial records.

Coincidentally, Mehta also appears to be an Obama-Biden donor—a detail conveniently missed by most of the establishment media, if not all the fluff pieces covering his history as a lawmaker.

Trump plays for keeps, but he is hamstrung by a mainstream Republican party that, when it isn't openly hostile towards him, continues to play the game by the rules written in some dusty tome describing a nonexistent time. The Democrats of course play to win, and are willing to do anything to get what they want, and the law be damned!

How this will play out is anyone's guess. I assume that it will go to the Supreme Court, where the moribund carcass of American jurisprudence lays in state. Will it be revived by President Trump's picks...both current and future, or will the inexorable shift to the left continue?

Ugh!

Just heard Romney's Amash comments on local radio.

What a weak, whiny weakling trying to act like THE ADULT (Cuck) in the room.

Here's an incredibly accurate imitation of the Cucktastic Mr Rombley:

Well, now I don't agree with my wife taking a new bull as her lover. I don't agree that she's met the bar for dissatisfaction with my sexual fumbling and impotence in the face of her hairy crotch-monster.

But, it it a courageous statement! And I respect her right to take such a lover...though I don't believe I she has met the proper condition for such action.

I'm really starting to think that NO ONE should get ANY funds. you want the office you have to show up for the 2 televised debates held nationally on a date 3 and 1 month before the election. period

there will be no ads, no PACs, no nothing. anyone violating this rule will be fined 1 million dollars FOR EACH OCCURRENCE. More than 3 violations rules you ineligible for elected office for a term of not less than 15 years.

22 Unfortunately we're in a game of ideological dare. For a long time the left got away with murder while daring the right to fight back, which it declined to do. Now the Donald is fighting back and the left is temporarily taken aback, but a time will come when the shock wears off. Then we will see actual confrontation and games of chicken, and not the kind with fowl fornication. That will be a hard time.

Impeaching judges doesn't happen nearly enough. It's one of the few ways the Founding Fathers failed to understand human nature since it's clear that they assumed people would be much more willing to impeach than they actually are.

Judges are only supposed to serve "under good behavior" and, in my world, that means *any* who go against the Constitution need to be booted.

52 Continuing the theme, William McGurn absolutely roasts Rev. Comey today (though he calls him Parson Comey, in a failed effort not to copy us) and then stumbles at the end. He lists Comeys ham-handed coup attempts and his illegal activities, his myriad lies and self0aggrandizing media efforts, and then at the end refers to "mistakes" at the FBI, asking if the "mistakes" were the result of over zealousness or a "deliberate abuse of power".

Hey McGurn, these weren't antiseptic "mistakes". He didn't misspell a word in the FISC applications, he committed deliberate fraud on a court. He didn't mistakenly surveil a political campaign, or try to perjury trap family members accidentally. He deliberately and with malice tried to obstruct the legitimate exercise of power by the Constitutionally elected President.

These aren't even regular crimes. This is treason. To call it a "mistake" is infuriating.

180 Two buddies Bob and Earl were two of the biggest baseball fans in America.

Their entire adult lives, Bob and Earl discussed baseball history in the winter, and they pored over every box score during the season. They went to 60 games a year. They even agreed that whoever died first would try to come back and tell the other if there was baseball in heaven.

One summer night, Bob passed away in his sleep after watching the Yankee victory earlier in the evening. He died happy. A few nights later, his buddy Earl awoke to the sound of Bob's voice from beyond.

"Bob, Is that you?" Earl asked.

"Of course it me," Bob replied.

"This is unbelievable!" Earl exclaimed. "So tell me, is there baseball in heaven?"

"Well, I have some good news and some bad news for you. Which do you want to hear first?"

"Tell me the good news first."

"Well, the good news is that yes there is baseball in heaven, Earl."

"Oh, that is wonderful! So what could possibly be the bad news?"

"You're pitching tomorrow night."

200 Because the People won't "do anything about it."

The problem I see with conservatives is that they do a lot of complaining about the left, and often say that things are ultimately hopeless.

I know that most conservatives have jobs and families that they don't want to put at risk, but at some point, we are going to have to fight with the left's tactics: Organizing mass protests, boycotting, demanding people be deplatformed, etc.

Andrew Breitbart fought like that, but no one seems to have replaced him.

A good case in point is someone like Mark Levin. He sits in his studio, does shows, and writes books. 99 percent of what he does is complaining about the left, and he makes a great living doing it. But, with respect to his new book, Unfredom of the Press, not once have I ever seen Levin with a camera and a microphone confronting a member of the MFM to their face.

Yes.

Tips I can offer. Work on the DA first shot SA follow up shot. Start off by shooting nothing but DA. LEARN THE DA FIRST. Then go to so the transition.

When you have that down.... move to SA only.... practice rocking over the trigger reset. Hold the triger back after each shot, dont reset until your back on sight picture.

It probably isn't continuous singing. There is probably an awful lot of praying for people on Earth though, until Judgement.

I'm 99% sure there is no sex because there is no marriage. We're to be reunited with transformed material bodies at some point though(our present forms being the equivalent of seeds). What happens next is anyone's guess.

221 Be that as it may, it means that there's no real cost for Trump to fight them tooth and nail and aggravate the hell out of them along the way.

Trump has lived his life in public and surrounded by, if not enemies, at least adversaries who'd have been happy to see him go down.

I'm sure the Democrats are all "How can he be so CLEAN?" because they expected him to be as dirty as they are.

agreed, that's what the "deplatforming" movement is all about. If anyone has been tagged as "right wing" they're not allowed past the security guards where any of these people are, no way do they ever make it into the studios. The only guy who gets close to infiltrating enemy lines is James O'Keefe, and even he's been kinda quiet lately.

The ancient Greeks had a concept of the afterlife -

if you were like the majority of people, not really good, not horribly

evil, you'd spend the rest of eternity just...waiting. For nothing.

Just waiting.

Unintended lesson there is if you want to have an interesting afterlife, go big either way.

best homage to the closing sequences of 2001 (hotel room in space, where he ages 100 years) was in the closing scenes of Farscape - the Peacekeeper Wars. They actually did a great job of working that whole scene into their plot, just changed it so that it was all happening in Crichten's head.

I just kinda toss that idea out there reflecting on the 1950's.
