AG Barr Appoints Prosecutor to Probe Whether Spying on Trump Campaign Was Illegal

The American people need to know if the Obama administration's intelligence and law enforcement tentacles colluded with Sydney Blumenthal and Fusion GPS.

Attorney General William Barr has appointed a U.S. attorney to examine the origins of the Russia investigation and determine if intelligence collection involving the Trump campaign was "lawful and appropriate," a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press on Monday.

Barr appointed John Durham, the U.S. attorney in Connecticut, to conduct the inquiry, the person said. The person could not discuss the matter publicly and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

Seizure Warning Ahead:

Barr provided no details about what “spying” may have taken place but appeared to be alluding to a surveillance warrant the FBI obtained on a former Trump associate, Carter Page, and the FBI’s use of an informant while the bureau was investigating former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos.

Trump and his supporters have seized on both to accuse the Justice Department and the FBI of unlawfully spying on his campaign.

The GOP, a party comprised, apparently, almost entirely of epileptics, once again seize, this time seizing on evidence of spying to claim that there is evidence of spying.

A friend says he's amused by the AP pretending they have no idea whatsoever about what could be worthy of investigating here.

I told him, "Never ascribe to malice what can be more easily explained by ignorance and incompetence, plus malice."

I was worried that this Dunham guy Barr appointed might be a cover-up artist that Barr appointed just to make things look like they were being done by the book, while actually cooking the books to protect the DOJ and FBI and Obama.

Maybe not:

I think it's time for Comey to post another picture of himself in the woods, like a cucked-out pencil-neck Bigfoot, and rap with The Youth about Jesus 'n Leadership.

LOL: Former top FBI layer James Baker predicts that the DOJ Inspector General will find "mistakes" in the FISA probe.

YOU DON'T SAY!!!

Former FBI General Counsel James Baker said on Monday he expects the Justice Department inspector general to find "mistakes" committed by the bureau in its handling of the Trump-Russia investigation.

...

Baker, who admitted last week the inspector general makes him "nervous," said the government watchdog will probably find some errors.

I think Weissman is in real trouble, mainly because unlike Huber, Durham will be accountable to adult supervision. Though maybe I'm wrong and Undercover Huber is actually explaining major Huber plans? It almost doesn't matter: the walls are coming down. If the government doesn't jail a goodly number of politicians and prosecutors, -at best- it will result in a Trumpslide even against the margin of fraud. At worst, soul-judging cuckboys will be swinging from lampposts.

The Navy Times reports how the since-viral moment was orchestrated by two junior officers who communicated with each other extensively throughout the process, according to a copy of the Navy's investigation it obtained.

"Draw a giant penis," the electronic warfare officer (EWO) first suggested to the pilot he shared the cockpit with. "That would be awesome."

"What did you do on your flight?" the pilot joked, according to a transcription of the in-flight video recording. "Oh, we turned dinosaurs into sky penises."

"You should totally try to draw a penis," the EWO responded.

"I could definitely draw one, that would be easy," the pilot said. "I could basically draw a figure eight and turn around and come back. I'm gonna go down, grab some speed and hopefully get out of the contrail layer so they're not connected to each other."

The investigation then detailed the back-and-forth between the pilot and the EWO as the male genitalia in the sky was being constructed.

110 and not to get all libertarian here, but this is exactly the reason why we shouldn't have secret courts that pretend to sort of follow normal criminal procedure laws, but in reality god only knows what goes on behind closed doors.

The reason we have an open and transparent court system and why things are the way they are is because these secretive warrants where all kinds of shady shit was going on was the norm under English law in the colonies pre-revolution, and people got fed up with it since it is SO easily abusable, and there is no one who can be held accountable.

Conway was one of those actors, like Cary Grant and Michael J. Fox, who act with their whole bodies, not just hands and face.

"On July 1st, 2019 the FBI NICs center will no longer accept background checks for pistols, receivers, and other type firearms from Washington state. This will require that local law enforcement perform the background check, and you the purchaser, will no longer be able to walk out the door the same day, even with a concealed pistol license.

To add to the concern is the passage of I-1639, again requiring that local law enforcement run the background check on all semi-auto rifles, further overloading an already broken system.

Bellevue Gun Club is currently offering the required I-1639 class, but there is nothing we can do to help backlog that is about to be created on July 1st 2019."

That's one reason why the witch hunt of Trump is so bad, and also the excusing of Hillary "too dumb to know better" Clinton.

Catch someone "lying" because they answered the question asked rather than implied, or answered the implied question instead of the one asked, or answered something else altogether.

The judge is supposed to be a check on the police. And if we were talking about a search warrant to search a house for evidence of drug dealing, judges are usually pretty particular about signing off on search warrants.

So the tables have now been turned on the Democrats.

They wanted to scream impeachment, backfired. They want to continue screaming... something... but now Trump now has a grasp of the narrative with his new DOJ pick. (is Sessions watching what it is to be a real AG?)

Tables have been turned. Trump can keep this up all the way to elections while the Dems try hard to not say "impeachment" and scream something or other to keep the faux demons alive.

482 >> If the FBI/DOJ knowingly identified US informants/employees as Russian agents of influence on the FISA wiretap applications, that might, just might constitute fraud.

Every FISA warrant application says in big bold letters at the top VERIFIED INFORMATION.

If the information in Carter Page warrant was not verified, spoiler, it wasn't, that constitutes a fraud on the FISC.

I'll ask the question I've been asking for a long time. How is it possible that in the Spring of 2016 Carter Page was an undercover asset for the FBI and in the Fall of 2016 the same FBI took out a FISA warrant against him asserting he was a Russian spy?

made me chuckle. what a dumbass.

Check this comment at NR out:

Dear Jonah Goldberg,

"I got a lot of heated and angry feedback from a lot of folks for it."

I thought that when it comes to the G-File, you actually got very little feedback from it in the comments of NRO: 18 to date. And I noticed it in my own criticism at the time.

In reverse orders, week by week, the number of comments of your last G-Files since the last one of December 2018: 18, 44, 99, 52, 46, 30, 41, 43, 48, 26, 76, 97, 66, 61, 53, 63, 25, 40, 58.

So last week's G-File was by this specific "measure" of NRO's comments, the one which elicited the least reactions.

Obviously, its quite simple. Quite.
He was a triple agent, but we didn't know it initially. And then, later, he wasn't. So there.

You admit to never seeing him on Broadway (you know, like the show where he won a Tony), yet you're qualified to opine on his range? "He always plays himself" doesn't quite mesh with "his most famous character by far is entirely based off of Larry David

But I'm sure Tim Conway was just amazing in Air Bud 2.

494 I don't care how far into Congress, the media, the Clinton Foundation, the DNC, the Deep State, or up the Obama administration this mess goes. I don't want to hear any of that "the country must heal" bullshit. All parties to spying on US citizens, aiding/abetting a coup attempt, and/or attempting a coverup after the crimes should be subject to:

Fair, open, and honest assessments to be followed by detailed investigations where needed.

Lawful and commensurate indictments matching the actual crimes committed. There should be no over-charging, and no under-charging. And especially, no Comey-style, on-the-fly inventions of requirements that were never written in the law.

Fair trials with fully open exculpatory evidence if it exists. (Which Weissman probably doesn't deserve but should get anyway.)

Just punishment for what they actually did.

496 actually, Jason Alexander did a very obvious Woody Allen impersonation for "George Constanza" for the first season and maybe half the second season. It was only when the show was moving along that he had the realization that George WAS Larry David. At that point, he began playing him like Larry David, and he became the character we remember.

The first attempt at George Costanza stunk. Check out those first few episodes. Brrrrrrutal.

499 Ace: Yes, I'm aware - which is why it's silly to say George Costanza is just Jason Alexander playing himself. He started as a pastiche of Allen's familiar nebbish character and eventually morphed into the amazing bundle of neuroses that is Larry David.
