Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Rant"Remember when President Trump called CNN "the enemy of the people", and how pretty much everyone in the hair-on-fire media basically ran around like, well, like their hair was on fire? And how the endlessly proclaimed that the President's remarks were some kind of Clear and Present Danger to serious journalisming like CNN and serious journalismists like Jim Acosta who, presumably, were afraid they might get gunned down in the streets by a hate mob? Actually, in reality, the only hate mobs in the streets these days are left-wing and the only danger the Serious Journalismists need to be afraid of is getting laughed at and called out for being lying whores by normal Americans -- which, in the view of journalismists, is worse than getting shot, but that's not my point. My point is, Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth "1/1024th" Warren recently decided that her path to electoral success involved attacking Fox News, so she loudly harumphed that she turned down an invitation from Fox, which she called "a hate-for-profit racket", to do a town hall. I have a couple of questions about this. The first is: has it now become OK to publically smear the media and call them names? When did that change? I mean, why hasn't Serious Journalismist Brian 'Tater' Stelter called out Senator Warren for her heinous attack on the integrity of the Serious Profession of Journalisming like he did when Trump called CNN a fake news clown car? I guess not all attacks on the media are equal. The other question I have is: who is the brainiac in the Warren campaign who told her to spike the ball in her own end zone? Because she just kind of owned herself, much like she did with the release of her DNA results. Whether she likes it or not, many Americans watch Fox News, and she just p*ssed on all of them. And these are precisely the votes she needs if she ever hopes to win. This is just a massive self-own by Warren, another one. The only people cheering this are blue-state progressives. Unless her strategy is to write off the red states as hopeless and deplorable and concentrate on racking up huge majorities in the blue states. But before she continues down that path, she might want to ask Hillary how that strategy worked for her in 2016."

And though Warren is being an absurd hypocrite, that's just par for the course. Around liberals, it's smarter to point out that this nasty woman is trying to be "purer" than other actual socialists, especially Bernie, and failing. Oh how she is failing. Warren calling Fox News a "hate" network is a dogwhistle.
Yeah, I know, "dog whistle" is a lefty trope used when they want to accuse someone of saying something they didn't. Not in this case. For the last 3 years or so the Left have been branding non-progressives as "hateful" and as such, not worthy of basic protections such as free speech and the right not to be punched. When you say someone spreads hate, it's then OK to punch them, get them fired, have their social media cancelled, have their banking services revokes and so on. Warren is doing something very deliberate and very despicable. I think she'll want to have Fox News "de-platformed" - essentially, have various business privileges pulled - because they spread "hate." We've already seen the DNC refuse to let them host debates. Will they try to get them kicked out of the WH press corps, have cable/satellite companies to drop them, have them purged from any federal sites, try to take them off the air entirely? I just read a few of the amicus briefs for the NYSRPA v New York City case in the fall. It is first encouraging the court rejected NYC's attempt to delay the case and in doing so keep the law in effect. The justices saw through this transparent attempt to game the system. But if you read amicus briefs, like the one from Gun Owners of America, et al, you can really see the broader constitutional issues such as the correct standard by which lower courts should judge these cases (which have been thoroughly abused since Heller), the entire issue of carrying a firearm outside the home and even on the type of weapons (potentially working its way into the NY Rifle ban). Some hope for October.

Yao. It was the time of the Choosing, when Sun-In-His-Hair faced his enemies in the tribe. The People would judge whether his medicine was strong, or if he must go down.
He was full of his spirit at this time. "That," he said, pointing, "is Matho Thipila, Bear's Rock, what the whites call Devil's Tower. Ask Steel Frown if she knows this." The Empty Talkers went to her. "Sun says you do not speak the language of the People. He says a thing in our tongue, and knows the name of it in the white tongue. He is chief of all the People. What say you?" "You insult me," she whined. "You will speak to him, so I will not speak to you." The Empty Talkers returned to the White Lodge. "She would not speak to us," said one. And I think the people who were able to help CM out financially (I wasn't) were very kind, generous people and no, I don't think people who didn't want to give were bad people-just caustious. When people are that desperate I worry about suicide because the guy I know said, "If I have to live out on the streets I will kill myself. This is not a threat. The Philly cheesesteak is greatly lacking in poured-on "cheese". Clearly not Dino's style.
I will insist (for the next four minutes because I really have to scoot) that the Philly cheesesteak is the one food that gets better the further away from its ancestral home. You can't get good bread in the greater Phila area. That thing in that picture that looks so yummy must be from Boston or Georgia or some place at least 200 miles from Pat's and Gino's. It's so funny that people think Philly cheesesteaks only come with Cheez Whiz. Most people order theirs with provolone. Posted by: kallisto at May 15, 2019 12:20 PM (DJFLF) 264
Gosh FS, you of all people have nothing to apologize for on this.
I held off for weeks because correcting you felt weird and ungrateful. Goofy, yes, but there you have it anyway, that's me all over. Posted by: sock_rat_eez - they are gaslighting us 24/365 at May 15, 2019 12:22 PM (isI7q) 265

Now he's trying to figure out how to pay his $42,000 helicopter bill.
Ask for the signed contract where I ordered a 42K$ helicopter ride. Posted by: doesky2 at May 15, 2019 12:31 PM (Zpygp) 267
150 Yao.
"She was angry," said another. "That one was born angry," Sun-In-His-Hair said. "That is why she is Steel Frown." Well we have TWO deli's in my area that make great cheesesteaks.
And it's got to be white American, none of that Cheezwiz dreck. Posted by: TANSTAAFL at May 15, 2019 12:48 PM (T09ml) 271
...breakable boards.
...kill joy.... Any woodworker knows that a piece of large grained soft pine will break in half if you just look at it wrong. That doesn't diminish the video though. Posted by: doesky2 at May 15, 2019 12:59 PM (OpyxE) Posted by: Otto Zilch at May 15, 2019 01:11 PM (AFztM) 273

I loved the video of the UNC campus cop gently but firmly explaining to the student that:
she can't take people's property, the pro-life folks had a right to be there, she could choose to not pay attention to them, and he had a duty to enforce the law. He's 100% correct on all. Good for him for staying calm and rational as he actually did something about a minor transgression. And it was a *minor* transgression. She got called on it immediately, and is now being publicly embarrassed by the video. I'd be surprised if the issue went any further. But it might make her lose, maybe, possibly, just a *smidgen* of the sense of entitlement she apparently has. And if so, that's good enough for 10 minutes of simple police work...
