Kamala Harris On Gun-Control Network CNN: If Congress Doesn't Restrict Gun Sales, I'll Restrict Them Via Executive Order

And that's not all she said.

Sen. Kamala Harris on Monday night pledged that, if elected president, she will sign a series of executive orders on gun control if Congress fails to pass comprehensive legislation in her first 100 days in the Oval Office.

During a town hall hosted by CNN, Harris said that if a bill from Congress did not make it to her desk, she would unilaterally mandate background checks for customers purchasing a firearm from any dealer who sells more than five guns a year.

Dealers who violate the law, she said, would have their licenses revoked. The other executive orders would prohibit fugitives from purchasing a firearm or weapon, as well as close the loophole that allows some domestic abusers to purchase a firearm if their victim is an unwedded partner.

Video clip below, as well as her non-answer as to whether the Boston Bomber should be allowed to vote for her from prison.

She tries to avoid a direct answer as to whether terrorists like the Boston Bomber should be permitted to vote vote Democrat (and you know, they'll all vote Democrat), but just sounds cowardly, indecisive, and dishonest in her evasions.

She sounds a lot like someone who knows her party's base is very pro-terrorist, but she worries about declaring her own pro-terrorist sympathies so baldly.

"We should have a conversation about that" is the Democrat way of saying "I don't want to have a conversation about that at all, so I'll just say that at some time in the vague future we could, maybe, have a conversation about that."

Bernie Sanders, meanwhile, is all-in on letting the Boston Bomber vote.

The pod-addled authoritarian Kamala Harris, who imprisons drug users who using herself, also announced that anyone who likes the private insurance they pay for is just a shill for the insurance industry.

After reiterating her support for socializing the health insurance system under the banner of "Medicare for all," and stating that she believed healthcare was a right, Harris said, "On this issue of this whole dynamic about access to private insurance -- of course private insurance, you can get supplemental insurance and all of that, but let's not be duped by a messaging campaign that has been waged for years by the insurance companies to have you into believing that you need to defend them."

Effectively, she's arguing that if people like their coverage, they're just being suckered by insurance companies. She knows better.

16 That parking officer who swipes a chalk mark on your tire to keep track of how long you've been parked is violating the Constitution, a federal appeals court panel found Monday.

A three-judge panel of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati reinstated a 2017 case brought by Alison Taylor, who was issued 15 parking tickets in three years in Saginaw, Michigan, by the same parking enforcement officer, who's described in the suit as the city's "most prolific issuer of parking tickets."

Taylor argued that marking tires with chalk constituted an unreasonable search under the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution. But a U.S. district judge in Michigan dismissed the suit in 2017, writing that even if chalking a tire is a search, it's a reasonable one, because a piece of chalk isn't an "information-gathering device" that could violate Taylor's privacy, like a GPS tracker, for example.

Most people have no idea what our gun laws actually are.

They have no idea that a background check is already required.

They have no idea that machine guns are licensed and legal, but highly restricted.

They want to ban the most popular rifle ever made, even though more people are killed every year by feet and fists than by ALL rifles. I think more people are killed by rocks and blunt objects than by rifles.

I remember the assault weapons ban, where you couldn't find an AR for less than 2 grand. Now you can get damn good rifles for $500.

I'm confused too. If you're a FFL dealer, you do a NICS check on every sale.

The only thing I can think of that would make a difference is to declare that anyone who sells more than five guns per year is now by law declared to be a dealer.

Previously, people could do private sales to people who are residents of the same state and not a prohibited person (although you had to mostly take this on faith, which has always struck me as fairly insane to sell to an unknown private person). These private sales, to my knowledge don't make you a dealer, no matter how many of them you do.

291 This breathless reporting on banning shit that's already illegal is another reason why the media is hated to much.

FFL's are already required to do background checks on *every* sale, period. They'll already lose their licenses if they fail to do so even once. This thing about requiring "dealers" who make more than 5 sales per year to do it is simply a dishonest way to saying anyone who makes more than 5 private sales a year is a defacto unlicensed dealer.

Fugitives are already prohibited persons.

Various violent offenses against partners makes you a prohibited person already whether you're married or not. This thing about making people prohibited persons over domestic misdemeanor bullshit involving boyfriends/girlfriends and hookups would means under current law you'd be barred from life from owning firearms simply for being convicted of raising your voice at them. Other bills currently on the table extend that list of offenses to things like viewing their social media without their approval.

And lastly, a blanket semi-auto ban is a no go right off that bat. They're pushing for another shot heard 'round the world, seeing it as a win-win; if people push back, they think the military and security apparatus, combined with the surveillance state, will hand them a victory. If people don't push back... well, then they've won without firing a shot.

A whole lot of disastrous wars have been started because one side was convinced it was going to be a cake walk. We're witnessing another one in the making here.

294 That parking officer who swipes a chalk mark on your tire to keep track of how long you've been parked is violating the Constitution, a federal appeals court panel found Monday.

Also Confirms Over 49,000 Clinton Server Emails Found on Weiner Laptop

(Washington, DC) -- Judicial Watch announced today that a senior FBI official admitted, in writing and under oath, that the agency found Clinton email records in the Obama White House, specifically, the Executive Office of the President. The FBI also admitted nearly 49,000 Clinton server emails were reviewed as result of a search warrant for her material on the laptop of Anthony Weiner.

329 This bullshit with trying to drag the family courts in to gun laws is insane and infuriating.

The leftists just look for anything they can find to fvck society over and create chaos. They don't care. They fight to have murderers and gang-bangers roaming free on the streets and then try to take away any guy's right to arms if he has some problems or accusations in family court. They've already managed to worm child support payments into gun rights. Weird how that can happen.

Stopping violent criminals from getting guns is hard. Vilifying people who actually appear for a court date are easy pickings.

And you know those crazy hard left are not into compromise, at all. If the Democrats try to move to the center, there'll be another spasm of leftist terrorism, just as in the 70s, when the hard left decided to take "direct action."

We're seeing the seeds of that already with antifa.

367 We should (obviously, to anyone outside the "everything is racism" bubble) should not allow people in prison, OR on BigWelfare, vote for getting out of jail free, or getting even more free stuff. Same principle.

The principle ... only contributing members of society should vote, not takers voting to have a politician take more (directly buying the vote by stealing from the productive). Ideally there would be even more requirements to vote ... high school graduation, over 21, full American ... just as suggestions. Founders had something about land ownership ... not a bad idea, homeowners certainly have a broader perspective on personal responsibility and "how things work".

I remember reading that a similar thing happens on a bridge between WA and OR, north of Portland. WA has a yugely big sales tax, OR has no sales tax. So people from the WA side go to Oregon and buy shit. And technically they're supposed to pay WA sales tax when they do that. Nobody does of course, but if the state finds out you bought a $2000 TV in OR and didn't pay WA its cut, they can go after you. And those cameras will show who went where when.

The same on buses, if you are stopped in a bus zone for any reason, and a bus comes up behind you, your car license plate gets photographed by a camera on the bus dash and a ticket comes in the mail, same as the traffic light cameras.

1. A really nice girl. Pleasant, you want to be around her, but she's kinda plain.

2. Physically attractive, but not into you. You don't have a shot. Just give it up.

3. Not physically attractive, not into you. Nuff said.

4. Not physically attractive but willing to do pretty much anything with rather little commitment. I.e., Kameltoe. We have diametrically opposite world views. We do not share a common culture. They hate us with a fervor that is literally religious. We share a common piece of territory, but they literally hate that territory. We are not of the same nation. History shows what happens when people that different and hostile are not allowed to separate peacefully.

ATF currently has arbitrary leeway to determine who is, and is not, in the business of selling arms. Private sales in moderate amounts are not infringed upon with licensing requirements.

And EO that states that "dealers" who make more than 5 sales a year must do background checks inherently defines those making more than 5 private sales as unlicensed dealers, forcing the ATF's hand. It's an end-run around states that won't ban private sales.

WA is going down this path, despite that there is already mass civil disobedience in the states that lead the way and with county sheriffs refusing to enforce such laws.

Next step is attempted confiscation, and people will get hurt. Whether that is the spark that ignites a conflagration, it is difficult to tell, but not difficult to conceive as a possible or even probable outcome.

Presidents have discretion over funds appropriated to the executive branch if they declare an emergency because Congress gave it to them - they can take it back or limit that anytime - but they never have. Sorry, Charles. What isn't enumerated in the Constitution is the right for Charles to dictate what presidents can and can't do depending on whether he likes the chief executive or not.

Posted by: Lurking Lurker at April 23, 2019 01:50 PM (FiUMj)"
Other lurker, that's not really the case. They *have* learned from the UK, and Australia, and also a bit from CA, NY, etc;
- They are still finding arms caches in the UK, which is far more cowed than we are- Australia had fewer firearms turned in, total, than there were Ruger 10/22's in the entire nation. Non-compliance was massive- NJ just admitted under FOIA that the state police didn't have so much as a *single* banned magazine handed in.
They know this, and they're aiming to attack the owners and their political opponents directly. It's not the tools that are their problem, it's US, and they know it.

The big issue for citizens, realistically, is not whether people will hand things in; most will not. It's whether or not they can prevent people from achieving the necessary training to use those arms effectively. And honestly, given the absolutely minor and limited role firearms would play in a real fight, they cannot. You don't need live fire training for a dirty fight.

*shrugs* The time between the Dred Scot decision and the outbreak of hostilities beginning the Civil War was 9 years. It was one thing when slavery was confined to the South, a wholly Southern institution. It became another thing entirely when Northern authorities were forced to take part in it by hunting down & returning escaped slaves. That decision generated enormous resentment and made the Civil War possible. Lincoln's election made it certain.

Think of this building of resentment as a slow-burning fuse. Things happen fast when it reaches the powder.

463 I, frankly, doubt for one second that any "executive order" about guns would last a day without being stayed by some court, up to and including SCOTUS.

You want to pussy foot around with some shit on the margins, like immigration, via executive order, sure, you can probably get away with it for a while. On something specifically called out in the Constitution, least of all, a subject for which there is already existing law ? ROTFLMAO. Least of all, after Trump (and, McConnell) is done re-making the majority of the judiciary ?

Obama was a dyed in the wool hardcore leftist, but at least the people working on his campaign knew you couldn't sell such a thing to a majority of the country. He had a slip up here and there (bitter clingers and whatnot), but these people seem to legitimately be trying to out LEFTARD one another on a daily basis. Does this fool really think the majority of the country is down for gun control via executive order, or that people on the right really need a better reason to get out and vote ?

Not sure if they're more hardcore leftist or incompetent at this point.
