Evidence of Corruption in Jussie Smollett Whitewash Grows

When Kim Foxx "colloquially" recused herself, she immediately sought to appoint her top deputy to oversee the Smollett case.

But she was informed by her staff that that would be unethical. I guess because a top deputy is just going to do what the boss wants, and the point of a recusal, if it's real, is to take a compromised boss out of the equation altogether.

Spokesmen for Foxx's office lied to the press and claimed that Foxx had never been informed this move was unethical, a law enforcement source says.

First, the department's chief ethics officer, April Perry, and Magats himself sought legal advice on the move and even prepared the proper documents calling for an outside special prosecutor after they were told Magats didn't have the authority to take over for Foxx, according to an e-mail obtained through a public-records request.

Foxx was then informed of the snafu in her plan to appoint her man, Magats, the source said.

But the prepared office document calling for a special prosecutor instead of Magats was never filed, and he remained at the helm of the investigation.

April Perry has since resigned -- as has another top Foxx staffer.

Social justice is not justice. If it were "justice," you wouldn't need the qualifier parked in front of it.

My take: Foxx is too stupid to think of just going through the motions, slow-walking the whole thing, then giving him a slap on the wrist after the heat died down.

And Smollett is too stupid to realize that that would have been in his interest.

Instead, Foxx blatantly lies, gives Smollett a total skip, Smollett then parades around holding himself out as the victim of 1) an attack, and 2) a biased criminal justice system, thereby cleverly keeping the whole issue before the public. Genius.

Correct. The braindead pseudo-Marxists who began using the term
acknowledge as much. They go further, though, saying they don't want
justice. They want this particular brand of "justice," which only they
are allowed to define.

It's the Prog version of sharia law: a separate set of laws, courts and punishments except it's not optional. You can be tried, convicted and punished while never breaking a real, official, legally-passed-and-signed law and there's not one fucking thing you can do about it.

How is that legal in any way?

Pro tip: put a wet finger to the breeze before doing anything this dramatic in such a high profile case. Take Rahm Emanuel's temperature on this. He's been around the track, and make sure he's got your back before you do anything.

If anything, Foxx's race and sex protect her to some extent. If someone named Stanislaus Wojohowicz had done this stupid, on a case with this kind of profile, he'd be out on his ass right now.

Why? Because shitcanning him is the fastest and easiest to make the uproar die down. Then his successor can slow-walk the whole thing until everyone forgets about it.

Foxx was too stupid to do any of this.

I'm of the opinion that Foxx was bribeb: her price was the $10K surety bond that Smollett has posted when he was indicted by the grand jury. I bet that money got transferred to some bogus "urban outreach" fund that Foxx just happens to control.

I've never heard of someone surrendering their bond money after charges are dismissed. They are supposed to get that money back.

155 When I first saw a mention about her "recusing" herself I thought it was odd that she was just handing it off to another ASA in the office, which wouldn't be the remedy for a conflict of interest. When any attorney in the office is conflicted out, then the entire office is conflicted out. In this situation, in my state, normally a special prosecutor from another State's Attorney's Office would be appointed to handle the matter. If she actually said she didn't realize she couldn't just assign another attorney in the office to the case, she's either lying or is breathtakingly incompetent.
