138 Well willow, the modern Western depiction of dragons comes from the medieval period. Prior to that dragons were depicted in various and sundry ways. Powerful serpent beings are almost ubiquitous in myth systems, from the Hydra to the Egyptian Apep to the Norse Jormundgandr to the Aztec Quetzalcoatl and even the Voodoo loa Damballah.

198 archeological trivia - the ancient's belief in dragons was almost certainly bolstered by the fossilized bones they ran across, just as we do still. They had to come up with some way to explain the giant bones they were finding, especially when they turned up a giant reptilian looking skull full of sharp teeth. The idea that some of them flew probably came from the Gobi area in Asia, where even today Protoceratops skeletons can be found on the surface, uncovered by the dry winds. Protoceratops notably has a pronounced beak, which would have led any of the ancients to conclude it flew. (specifically, this may have the source of the idea of a Gryphon)

and while we're on the topic, it is widely recognized now that the Unicorn is a distant memory of the European Ice Age Rhino. One very large horn in front, much longer and more prominent than in the African rhino. Go to the caves in France and you can see multiple paintings of unicorns from about 25,000 years ago, drawn by the people who saw them every day. We're the ones who got it wrong and turned it into a kind of horse.

210 Meant to add, the belief in Cyclops appears to have come from the Mammoth skulls that the ancients would run across. If you view a mammoth skull, you will see that it doesn't have very pronounced eye sockets like a human skull does, but instead has a huge hole in the front center, which makes it look like it could have had one giant eye. In actual fact, this was where the trunk would have been attached to the face, but only those familiar with elephants would know that.

What is that floating wisp of purple just in front of Persee's belly? Artist dribbled whilst painting the mountains and said, oh, well, call it a feature?

And those are the high points.

408 Obstruction of justice isn't nearly the heinous crime that the Dems think it is.

Firing the dillhole FBI Director is not obstruction. Tell me when they find evidence that Trump bleach-bitted anything, anything at all and I'll let them talk about obstruction.

They know they have nothing heading into next year and this is the straw to which they cling. What are they going to do, attack him on the economy? There is not one sincere belief among the Dems that impeachment is viable. They just want to keep talking about for 18 more months.

Ugh. Why'd you have to mention guano. Last week we had one of our cellular telephone customers send in a tower-mounted amplifier in for repair, and the damned thing was encrusted in fucking guano. Handfuls of the shit, probably about 10 pounds or more, and no, I'm not exaggerating. It's so clogged that you can't see the heat sink (which has 4 inch deep fins), which is why the amp overheated.

No dood, we ain't touching it. It's going into a trash bag and being sent back as hazardous. Ugh.
