Chicago Sues Jussie Smollett for Costs of Investigating His Hate Crime

And it was a hate crime -- it was intended to incite hate against white people and Trump supporters.

But those lives don't matter, so we don't talk about that. We can only talk about the indirect, unintentional victims of Jussie Smollett's false flag hate crime -- hate crime victims who won't be believed in the future -- and not the directed intended victims of it.

I've mentioned that Chicago would seek compensation before, but now they've actually filed the lawsuit.

Smollett has consistently denied that he faked the attack. But the City of Chicago and its police department maintain that he did and in the complaint, the city is asking for a jury trial "to recover civil penalties, statutory treble damages, and attorney's fees and costs arising from the Defendant's false statements to the City."

The complaint outlines the allegations against Smollett in detail, citing text messages, GPS records and statements made to police by his alleged accomplices. The complaint says Smollett "knowingly made numerous false statements of material fact" and is asking for a civil penalty of $1000 for each of those statements.

In addition, the complaint states that the Chicago Police Department incurred $130, 106.15 in overtime pay and the complaint is asking for triple that amount in damages plus "litigation and collection costs, and attorneys' fees."

Posted by: Lurking Lurker at April 12, 2019 06:37 PM (FiUMj)

Nobody said he's not guilty. Not prosecuted != not guilty. His guilt has not been adjudicated. If in the civil proceedings the city can convince jurors that he more likely than not behaved as alleged (preponderance of evidence), he's done.

Bear in mind they could still change their mind (or DA) and prosecute criminally as well, I believe.

I say no, he shouldn't do anything that might legitimatize those policies.

Don't give them a legal platform.

Too bad it's going to rain most of it, again.

Enjoy.

Me, I'm super pissed that somebody put Coors Light in the kegerator here at work. Fucking canoe-sex fizzy beer.

Nevertheless, I still think it's cool as hell that our office has a kegerator.

Also there are probably 20 liquor stores on my drive home.

Cheers.

177 Oh, this was Kamala with Mooch. They set it up so Kamala/Buttplug would have something to run on while riots ensued from the grainy camera "take" performed by Jussie. He then told them he was going to tell that they had encouraged him to create this little performance so they'd have Fergueson 2.0 to run on BLM and LGBT+++ for the protests and riots and win-win.

Posted by: dagny at April 12, 2019 07:13 PM (nRWPy)

More proof, if any were needed, that these clowns have the IQs of turnips.

If you want a good riot, you need to stir shit up in the summer - August is perfect - not in the middle of the coldest winter for many years.

They can't even throw a good riot.

183 People in "sanctuary" jurisdictions will "be fine" with anything, just about. That's how these places became the way they are. You're not going to call their bluff, or shame them.

As I said earlier, in my wet blanket role on the Trump taunt, and as ace noted in the post, these illegals can go anywhere. BP can ship them anywhere it decides, and then they can proceed to go anywhere else they want.

If some of the target cities don't want the burden, they have ways of making their places less welcome. In any case, unless we're talking about a medium or small city, which might be fiscally vulnerable, the larger cities won't care, or even notice.

186 I don't see how the city wins this. Take all the media attention out of it and it's: guy gets charged with a crime, takes a plea deal, and the city charges him for the investigation? Do they do this in every case, or just the ones that make them look like chumps? Makes it seem vindictive, and no matter how much the dude pissed you off, does the law support making him pay up because you (the city) weren't happy with the criminal outcome?

189 I understand that Trudeau is under investigation for corruption. If it
turns anything up on him, how does that go? Do they play it straight, or
do you guys have a "no reasonable prosecutor" rule like us?
-----
He's not under police investigation right now... it's the Opposition along with the women he's kicked out of cabinet, and one out of the Party, making accusations with the House of Commons justice committee (with a Liberal majority!) "investigating" the accusations. It will take more for him to be charged and there are more scandals ongoing -- one involving an Admiral who whistle-blew on corruption involving a shipbuilding contract; and the ex cabinet minister kicked out of the Party might have been kicked out illegally. There's a legal process that all the parties have to follow to expel a sitting MP from their parties that probably weren't followed.

I think the process is that Justin's own minister of justice would have to ask the RCMP to investigate and they'd have to give their evidence to the appropriate "DA" (Crown Prosecutor) and he'd decide whether to lay criminal charges. I don't know if the RCMP can investigate on their own although I trust them as much as the FBI!

Sorry, I'm on a tablet so it's a pita to explain alot more.
