Media Used to Call Government Surveillance of People -- Even Terrorists! -- "Spying" as a Routine Matter.
Now That The Spying is Directed at ORANGEMANBAD, They're Freaking Out Over Semantics.

Government spying was government spying, until Trump called government spying "spying."

Then the media which, like an obstreperous child, feels obligated to contradict Trump on every single simple point, began shrieking that spying was no longer spying, because they said so.

But a look back at their previous reporting on spying sees them calling spying "spying" in every single instance.

Except now that Trump says that spies did in fact spy on him, they've decided to play the infantile liberal game of redefining basic vocabulary.

113 'Spying' especially of a political opponent kicks it up to the exact same thing that they nailed Nixon over. This whole situation even treads further to the sacred cow of 'It is not the crime, but the cover up' which was the canard they used to actually tar Nixon in the whole matter.

In this case you actually have high level (possibly Obama) directly moving the security apparatus (not just a couple goofballs installing wires) to spy on a political opponent.

173 The Left, particularly the Democrat party et al has always pivoted towards modifying language to cure some problem or other.

Whenever they lose an election the first thing they do after assigning blame is to claim the message failed. Not the aims or goals of the party but how those were messaged to the voters thus the voters were not informed correctly of what they were supposed to be voting for or against.

I've seen it time and time again over 50 years of politics and elections. The GOP tries to change their goals and aims to look more like Democrats and the Democrats change how they say the same old stuff.

It's the reasoning behind Political Correctness. Get people to obey your demands for framing this or that subject in a certain way using approved language and soon you can make them say anything you want and like the fact that your claims can actually affect the outcomes suddenly you're talking like a leftist without realizing it and soon you agree with what they're claiming and voting their way.

Seen it on many a discussion blog. Even here. I've railed against using the left's language many a time cause once you use your enemies language, you've lost the argument.

But slowly we are leaving behind those reactions and the left is being uncovered as to it's actual lack of reason and sanity and more and more people are questioning it's ability to govern. Fairly and positively. They cannot because much of what they aim at and claim as truth are lies and will lead to injury for the citizens and the country overall.

More and more we see the results of Democrat actions more and more clearly because we ignore and/or discount the claims made by the media of the results of those actions.

The Democrats are poison and will destroy this nation and all it means to the world.

"Congress had long known that the F.B.I. occasionally
spied on its members. But no one ever rose on the floor to ask what business the F.B.I. had checking on members of Congress. Many potential critics assumed the F.B.I. knew all their secrets and that such secrets might be used against them any time Mr. Hoover felt the urge. He actually said more than that. When asked by Schatz what he meant by spying he said "unauthorized surveillance".

They can be, yes. Or they could be harshly interrogated, or imprisoned, or used as slave labor, or for target practice, or...

Basically, a combatant with no uniform or distinctive insignia had and has no rights whatsoever.

I remember in the early days of Gulf War II the commies were trying to pretend that was some new rule that Bush made up.

Thus, all this mockery and litigation of their idiocy is amusing, but not nearly as amusing or useful as all the twatters personalities probably think.

Bullshit like this is why I hate arguments with the left. They'll say something like, "Obama's not going to take your guns you idiot ammo-sexual!"

Then later, when a bill passes that makes 90% of guns illegal and only cops can own the remaining 10%, they sneer, "Obama didn't personally come and take your guns, so I was right!"

Then they flounce away.

The DOJ's pathetic performance under Sessions, which as I noted many times was effectively advertizing their irresolution and inviting (successfully) worse behavior, is a heavy burden for Barr to overcome.

As a little reminder, recall how swiftly DOJ and (typically lawless, revolutionary-committee-like) courts moved to squash AZ when it merely required modest LE cooperation on immigration matters - amidst an illegal migration crime crisis in the state. Compare with actions since January 2017.

child pushed or thrown off of 3rd story in Mall of America

critical injuries

Five year old kid thrown/pushed by 24 year old with no known connection to the family of the victim.

Under many terrible circumstances, I would wait for the "justice"
system to do what it does. This is not one of them. If this were my
kid, that 24 year old wouldn't be safe anywhere on Earth.

Run and hide, asshole. Run and hide. ...... Because I want my people to find
you, and when they do, rest assured we are not going to hand you over to
the police. So my advice to you again is this: run and hide. That is
all that I ask.

357 As regards "totes not spying," it's not worthy of argument. I'm perfectly fine telling any shit-for-brains that I don't need xir sorry dumb ass to tell me what "spying" means, so lol, fuck you.

IMO, it's well past the time, too, to quit assigning any truth value to anything any of them say. It's not true, it's not false, it's simply strategic behavior in service to power and wealth and its accumulation. Other than as a reminder of their goals, it has no useful content.
In other words, "lol, fuck you" every time.

I remember Obama personally saying, "I'm not going to take your guns." I interpreted it exactly as you describe.

361 Not to mention the NYT's headline on Inauguration Day that Trump had been wiretapped. When he "pounced", they said it wasn't "wiretapping" wiretapping a la Whoopi.

Why the panic, Democrats? Aren't you all about investigations, oversight and transparency? The Attorney General is just trying to get the facts. It's not as if he's paid for a Dossier and is using it to get phony warrants. He's not going to insert spies or set up phony meetings to entrap anybody. And he certainly won't be using foreign intelligence services to avoid the laws or any other such criminal acts. So there's nothing to worry about.

Right?
