If Colorado then throws it's electors to the winner of the popular election, I've been disenfranchised. MY vote has just been given to the barrios of Los Angles and the ghettos of the Bronx. Eric Holder can scheme this up all day, but it's in violation of the Constitution. Had the framers wanted a direct democracy, they would have built one. This is Mueller's MO . The ends justify the means. That's why he knowingly allowed three innocent of the charges men remain in prison . Because they were dirt bags who probably committed other crimes, in his mind he thought he was justified in allowing it to happen.
I figure it's the same with Trump. He figured Trump was guilty so he tried to get him by any means possible. Fail. Posted by: Can't resist temptation at April 05, 2019 04:40 PM (V86aL) 102

I believe the phrase "ex post facto" applies here.
It would be hilarious if Trump wins the popular vote, they have to hold their noses and give him their Electoral College votes, then they repeal that law, and the next GOP candidate wins the Electoral College vote but loses the popular vote. I'd piss myself laughing at that. Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara at April 05, 2019 04:35 PM (YqDXo) ----------------------- Maybe, but they'd likely argue that, since the electors haven't cast their votes yet, the law on how those votes get cast can't be ex post facto. As I recall, MA did something similar with a law about appointing senators should one die. The Dem legislature gave the Gov the power to appoint senators when he was a Dem, and stripped it from the R (I think it was Romney) when it looked like he was going to get to appoint someone. I may be misremembering some of the details, but I think that's how it went. Posted by: No One of Consequence at April 05, 2019 04:45 PM (8g9zh) 126

Are there no Democrats even slightly worried about the ramifications of forcing a duly-elected president, supported by about half the population, forced out of office.
I know they're Democrats--and that means they care only about power--but still. And do none worry about a truly ungovernable country if they take office in an unconstitutional way? Even if it falls short of a shooting civil war. I understand the imbecile and borderline criminal media would back anything they did, but I still wonder why no Democrat is even whispering that the U.S. is heading in a dangerous. I wouldn't count out Trump in the popular vote this time. People here in NY are very pissed at the NYC crew who now runs the state. I see more "for sale" signs in the area than I have in at least the last 8 years or so.
People have been through the new tax cycle and know it's not the SALT deduction that's killing them. It's the high state taxes that NY just raised again with stuff like an internet shopping tax, added tax on sales of homes over a certain amount, etc., etc. It's very nice to support a political party like its a team sport until they start to personally assault and rob you, then ask for thanks. dagny, in one world I have the same reaction: these efforts to disenfranchise voters in certain states by making their state's electoral vote essentially meaningless are clearly unconstitutional.
Then, in the world we actually inhabit, I recall the O-care decision, and Bush v. Hamdan, and Obergefell, and Wickard v. Filburn, and - well, just about the majority of any case one actually delves into, if the dissents are included - and realize that anything is possible. Because nothing means anything any more. Most importantly, the judiciary has morphed into an Unaccountable Super-Legislature for Dummies, and nobody (including the Trump administration, quite emphatically the Trump administration) has shown the slightest interest in restoring rule of law and the constitution in these matters. Just now, as CA goes through some amusing uproar over a 10+ round gun magazine ban that has been temporarily lifted by a federal judge, I've been reminded how outrageous, and ridiculous, the "levels of scrutiny" nonsense is. The courts just invented some framework that empowers them to legislate, specifically to amend the constitution by themselves, so long as they follow their ridiculous artificial framework. Like the coup plotters in DOJ, FBI, CIA etc whose hijinks are now being more fully exposed, the judiciary is not made up of the sharpest tools in the drawer. Their usurpations, like the misbehavior of the coup plotters, are crude, and facially ridiculous - but they don't care, as they are accustomed to impunity. The Beltway "national security"/"law enforcement" clowns *might* be seeing their impunity finally curtailed a bit. The courts? Not a glimmer of change back towards rule of law. wouldn't count out Trump in the popular vote this time.
DeSantis won Governor of FL in November. He ran as a Trump supporter. He beat the very much favored Soros/Steyer candidate w RDS having a lot less money. Please don't tell me who can win in Florida based on some poll. Let's look at the actual results.

I like the way you think.
But...this is still a heavy voting bloc. Colorado could still go red again. And then you'd have voters in CO who see their electors go for someone they didn't vote for. Posted by: Mark Andrew Edwards, Angry, Radical, Anti-Liberal, and Dangerous: buy ammo at April 05, 2019 04:49 PM (bcbK ![]() You should, I'm a very clever boy. Nonetheless, Michigan (!!) was outside the Dem margin of cheating in 2016. When they had every reason to press as hard as they could. The prime advantage of cuckservatism in 2016- the lie that Trump was a closet liberal- has exploded. If the Dems have to dedicate cheating resources to Colorado AND Michigan AND Florida- well, when you are equally defended everywhere you are equally weak everywhere. And that doesn't account for the fact President Trump will make a play for Minnesota. Point is, trying to nullify a presidential election in any state is so stupid, so likely to end in cleansing the California transplants, that it won't be done. If the libs must declare civil war, they will find another way. Posted by: trev006 at April 05, 2019 05:21 PM (JH+YW) 383

------ One thing to consider: CO has mail-in voting so the cheating requires very little effort. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at April 05, 2019 05:22 PM (AzW6q) 385
That landwhale in the Gillette ad made me realize that body positivity (obesity) is only promoted and celebrated if you are a woman. I promise you that I have never seen an example of an obese or even fat/chubby man being told he is handsome and sexy and to never change. And I say this because this is an overt psychological operation against women. And it's women supporting it mainly and cucks. Why would women want other women to be obese. Men encourage each other to get fit and stay healthy.

What we were told was a job interview for Mueller for FBI Director was actually a sneak suspect interview of the President by Mueller. just like they did to Flynn.
Mueller knew Rosenstein was going to make him Special Counsel. Trump didn't. It was a set-up. Rosenstein demands Comey's firing then says "How dare you fire Comey!" When the news of the appointment hit, Sessions offered his resignation. Another set-up. The Narrative: "Trump fired Comey AND Sessions to cover up the truth!" The entire Mueller Fraud was an attempt to frame the President for Obstruction because they already knew Collusion was a hoax. They knew this because Mueller;s entire team of Hillary Donors, Foundation Lawyers, Dirty Cops and Crooked Lawyers--including the same 40 FBI agents who transferred over to Team Mueller--were the exact same team that had already been trying to frame Trump for nearly two years previous to the two-year Mueller Fraud. That makes it a four-year long "investigation", the length of a presidential term. And that's if you pretend Brennan wasn't wiretapping the Trumps even earlier. Maybe, but they'd likely argue that, since the electors haven't cast their votes yet, the law on how those votes get cast can't be ex post facto.
Posted by: No One of Consequence at April 05, 2019 04:45 PM (8g9zh) You're correct re Romney. Re how the Dems would argue, in response I'd argue that voters voted under a presumption of how electors would be apportioned, and to change that presumption after seeing the electoral results would very much be ex post facto.
