1 Good Morning Morons; today is Sunday, March 24, 2019. On this day in 1765 Great Britain passed the infamous Quartering Act, which required the Thirteen Colonies to house British troops. One of the many things that led to the rebellion.

19 The argument that Trump is a "fascist" is demolished in four words -- First Amendment and Second Amendment. Every fascist in history -- without exception -- has moved to end citizen access to weapons and to restrict free speech. Trump supports the Second Amendment and just signed an EO to reinforce the First (in the very place it should need no reinforcement). End of story.

There isn't much to it. Put blood on the strip and stick it in the monitor. It is supposed to tun on and read the strip when you stick it end. Most of the time it does nothing. if you wiggle the strip around it comes up with "fill" which means it does not see the blood.
Like I said, it is a POS.

Low and slow pot roast is the best. Sear the roast first in a super high smoking dutch oven to seal it up though. Then de-glaze with red wine, then when the wine is almost evaporated, add all the rest of the ingredients, get to a boil and then stick it in the oven on super low. Cover and forget for three to four hours.

81 Ilhan Omar is particularly disgusting and anti-American. Why does she insist in bringing her 11th century hatred and misery to the US? The answer is that is all she knows what to do.

I'm watching a video cut of her on TV, and it makes me sick that there are enough people who voted for her and she won.

And my UW Huskies get the honor of becoming the next victim of North Carolina later today. They won their first game, and are actually thought to be a year ahead of schedule in the second year of the rebuilding plan. The team is overall very young. They believe in themselves.

But the Brits didn't start them. Why do they need to ..., you know, forget it. If these people won't stand up for themselves and their formerly decent culture. Why the hell am i worried about it. Let them crawl back to Brussels. I would be looking at the Italians or Poles, or even the French to say enough.

83 My story on cheap batteries
I had a line lazer, they run a couple of hundred, it was working perfectly and was setting door frames with it. The batteries died and had more to do so went across street and got loose batteries from cheap city store. They fried the lazer, it comes on bright then goes out now, even a good set it only comes on a second.

I have spent a fair about of time in the UK. They used to blame everything on global warming. If there was a heavy rain, they blamed global warming. My guess is for the last two years they have blamed everything, including the weather on Brexit. One party control is pretty powerful. We can mock them but we are not far behind. BTW, that party is the pro eu left whether they call themselves the government, Labour or whatever. What it will never be is conservative in any way.

115 I've been through a few monitors. All the firmware has been fairly consistent in this process:

1. POST, power on self check, usually batt check
2. Insert new strip, reads code
3. Timer starts, you need to poke and bleed
4. Get blood drop onto end, so it can wick up
5. If not, unit will time out and error
6. Report value or error (usually not enough blood)

After that the storing of values, recall, some light analysis, or pushing to phones, etc. are all different.

I've upgraded to a BT one so I can track on my phone.

Getting the bleeder dialed in took a while. Knowing what depth to set based conditions (cold hands) or location based on callouses, etc.

Sit down with your favorite beverage (other than sweet tea) and see what a few cocktails do to your count, then with some beers.

Remember - the left will take every illegal, and sometimes legal, method to keep working until they get the outcome they want. The left loved the concept of plebiscites, until the right used them to actually, you know, find out what people wanted, truly. Then, all hell broke loose when the left found out that most people want a chicken in every pot, not a tranny on every pot, like the left wants.

125 So none of the Democrats, save for Spartacus, will speak at AIPAC, the annual Jewish conference. In past years, it was a given that any candidate would be speaking here. Not any more.

AIPAC tries to be bi-partisan, and in 2016, both Hillz and PDT spoke there.

So what has changed? Not AIPAC. Where does this animosity come from? Not AIPAC. The Omar wing of the Democrat party is now controlling the entire party, and nobody inside the party is stepping up to Omar's bullying. I have not seen anything in America quite like it. It is common in lowly sh**hole countries like the one Omar was rescued from as a kid and brought to America. And now apparently allowed to expand to her new country.

It amazes me that the Democrats will still get most of these votes in 2020.

158 Good Morning Morons; today is Sunday, March 24, 2019. On this day in 1765 Great Britain passed the infamous Quartering Act, which required the Thirteen Colonies to house British troops. One of the many things that led to the rebellion.

English people suck at taking orders.

Why, I can order my Germans to house Muslim thugs, rapists and layabouts indefinitely und zey vill do it!

Yep. Something like 700K workers out of 80M make minimum wage, and 75% or so of THOSE workers are teenagers.

But this is a winning issue because of another 75% or so. The 75% or so that can't name all three branches of the federal government. Voters are dumb and easily manipulated, and there's very little that can be done to combat stupidity. Worse still is emotional stupidity, which is where this falls.

None of those minimum wage workers will do any better, and who it will really hurt are the families living on $20 an hour, who are now making what was just recently called $10 an hour.

What bothers me is, is this a feminist thing? They're ok with young men and adolescents getting sexually assaulted, maybe as a kind of revenge fantasy about how women have been "oppressed"? Or is it just ok in this case because it's a (sort of) black dude like MJ? Like liberal parents resigning themselves to having their daughters raped and murdered as long it's by the correct group, like illegals or Muslims. Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods have played with Trump on several occasions, the most recent time was in February. Funny this gets no play at all. Tiger Woods is one of the most celebrated athletes of the modern era and Jack Nicklaus, a Trump supporter, is beloved by all and one of the all time greatest sportsmen. . Both political parties gush over Nicklaus for good reason. Here is proof. https://tinyurl.com/yxahpbzxI don't want to add to drawing Nicklaus into the political garbage we see on a daily basis. I only point this out to show the double standard. If Obama played with Nicklaus and Woods, it would be a big deal. When Trump does it regularly, it is as if it never happened.

The Isis thing is bigger than a golf game, and it is like that never happened too right?

203 Frankly, if you're an adult or elderly adult returning to the workforce and still making minimum wage after a couple of months, there's probably a very good reason for it. From the BLS:

"Minimum wage workers tend to be young. Although workers under age 25
represented only about one-fifth of hourly paid workers, they made up
about half of those paid the federal minimum wage or less. Among
employed teenagers (ages 16 to 19) paid by the hour, about 8 percent
earned the minimum wage or less
"

https://bit.ly/2pKYx4y

Don't miss that bold part.

Even 90%+ of teenagers can manage to make more than the minimum wage.

do not get me off on that!! That is why government spending does not create new jobs! When prevailing wages are required (always) you just go to the union hall and hire the most experienced best elec, plmr, etc. So they go on the job and not 1 new job was created. I remember years ago, in the 1980s or 90s, the German auto workers union negotiated a crazy high hourly wage. If I remember correctly it was in the area of $40 an hour and that was when that was a lot of money. The Germans said fine, if we pay you in Germany you will get this wage. I have freaked out docs for about 15 years. I do not do weight! I had surgery about a 10 days ago and had to be twilight (90% under) and anesthesiologist needed my lbs. I dont know! Wut? She looked at me like I am crazy. So they march me to scale and weigh me. Ask again how much I weigh I said I did not look! and ha nurse that weighed me did not write it down. So they march me over again and write it down. ha!

The Day After Tomorrow.
I actually paid money to watch it in a movie theater. It was weather porn. I wanted to pick it apart and it was easy."

The funniest / stupidest thing about that one is that they had to turn it into a story about glaciers and a new ice age, because of "Global Warming" - riiiggghhhhhtttt. Of course, they realized that only cold is scary and can actually kill; it would have been really hard to make an Ingmar Bergman movie about the terror of a July Day in Oslo where the temperature soared all the way up to 67 F, instead of 65. The Horror! The Horror!!!

238 Question for Vic or other meteorologically-minded Morons: Weather Underground has gone down to one station for our town and won't give me details on severe weather alerts (*clicks on "River Flood Warning" and gets no details and mutters curses*). Should I go to the local radio station sites instead or is there a better national site?
