Thread before the Gardening Thread, Censored [KT]

censore.jpg

Serving your mid-day open thread needs

Good morning! I expect that there will be further reactions to the Mueller report today, but all I am going to say, along with Tom Fitton, is that Hillary Clinton lost again last night. Feel free to add your own comments and reactions from the news as they come in. This is an open thread.

I thought I would touch on another subject that has been highlighted by the horrible attack in Christchurch, namely censorship and suppression of speech.

On Thursday, Ace posted a piece on President Trump's executive order re-affirming that colleges must defend the right to free speech or lose federal grants.

This order does not really order schools to do more than they're already supposed to be doing -- but it is a shot across the bow that the law will be actually followed going forward, and noncompliant schools will be punished as the law provides, and that "compliance" may be interpreted more strictly than it has in the past.

Because this is America. Not Britain, where a journalist who "misgenders" someone may be guilty of a crime. Speaking of misgendering, Jordan Peterson has been excluded from Cambridge because they have a policy of inclusion. As far as I can tell, this means that they are not willing to discuss his opposition to laws or policies forcing people to use the "preferred pronouns" of anyone who objects to being addressed by obvious pronouns suggested by their appearance, such as "he" and "she".

It is not quite clear to me why Peterson's book has been banned by a leading bookstore in New Zealand following the attack on Muslims in Christchurch. Is it a horrible thing for prospective mass murderers to clean their rooms? Reactions to their vaguely justified move have prompted the bookstore to disappear from Facebook and Twitter.

New Zealand has also banned the terrorist's manifesto, which seems less goofy. You don't want to go around glorifying the guy in the press, like, say, Rolling Stone glorifies selected Islamist terrorists. But this also makes it impossible to know that the killer was an eco-fascist. I was also interested to learn of his admiration for the Chinese government.

Comedy Central suppresses speech another way

One way Comedy Central produces its "comedy" is by interviewing people, then editing their words, even to the extent of cutting and pasting questions and answers so that the answer to question A is seen after question B. A Jewish Youtube guy from Australia recently turned the tables on one of their hosts, Jim Jeffries, by setting down his phone to record the interview:

What he also caught on footage, however, was Jefferies doing and saying things that degraded Islam that the left would be horrified by, especially in the wake of the Christchurch shooting.

Jefferies draws the prophet, Muhammad, before calling Islam dangerous. He also said wearing a burka is stupid, and compared Islam to a dingo. Then proceeded to say that if a dingo ate a Muslim baby it would likely vomit it up.

Jefferies wasn't worried about saying any of these things, as he openly admitted that he never looks bad in his interviews.

Uh-oh.

Once again we are reminded why many people refuse to be interviewed by the leftist media complex, and why they should refuse if they do not have a way to independently record the exchange.

Think this will change Mr. Jeffries' future?

Hope you have a better weekend than Mr. Jeffries is likely to have.

3 Comedy Central has always done that in their interviews. Jon Stewart's Daily Show in particular. They used to do it for absurdity, but I think they've weaponized it and their window-licker audience no longer understands what deceptions they're manipulated with.

I don't get all the Dr. Peterson hate. I've read 12 Rules and there's nothing in it to cause it to be banned. That says more about that bookstore chain and the imbeciles that run it than anything else. They're another arm of Progda. I hope they go out of business soon as a result.

11 I haven't read Peterson's response to the disinvite, but he apparently started out mentioning that the Oxford Student Union released their crowing tweet about 10 minutes before the Oxford divinity school announced it, and that everyone failed to note that the invite had been brought up mutually after Peterson had lectured there, and was not some supplication by him alone.
Also, he objected that to that point no one had even told him about it, like you might if you were being any ways polite.

Jordan was also extremely critical of the Oxford Student Union's tweet, calling it unintelligible babble, which from what I heard of it quoted, it was: a stringing together of "must use"words in a very passive construction.

21 Peterson's background includes researching the systemic lies under the Soviet Union, and how it damages people to have to mouth what they know are lies.
He used that reasoning to defy a command to use all the "gender" pronouns which got him in the gyppo with his university and (some of) the Canadian government.
He compounded this by being extremely vocal about the need for both parents to be involved in a child's raising, and very vocal about the differences inherent in the sexes.

And the ultimate sin was to not go crawling when threatened.

Yes, on the one hand you don't want to give psychos the fame they so desperately want.

But on the other hand, suppressing the manifesto allows the lying government propaganda organs, aka "the media" to frame the event any way they want. I would say that is objectively worse.

Iraq is fully in Iran's orbit. Sorry to disappoint.

And yes, Obama's geniuses in the intelligence community created ISIS by funneling weapons to the Assad "opposition." Remember them? The Democrat Army or whatever?

Same story with Libya. In both cases you get a combination of overconfidence, delusions of competence and greed. Remember, they hoped to cash in on their ties to the new governments they were going to install.

50 Talking about Nicolae and Elena in the last thread got me thinking...

They were tried and summarily shot on Christmas Day, 1989, after 22 years of ruthless autocratic rule.

The trigger for this was the Party's decision to evict a provincial pastor in Timisoara. His congregants blocked the hallway to prevent Securitate from removing him. This tiny act of protest swelled when local students joined in, and the Securitate did what they always did, and started shooting people.

From there, it spread nationwide.

That eviction notice had been served on December 17.

You never know what the catalyst will be, and when it comes events move quickly.

Bullshit eviction notice to complete regime collapse in eight short days.

88 the university was at fault for charging tuition and not providing training that provided the students knowledge for a career
This is a great point.

Universities don't even do anything as honest as "charging tuition" in any kind of a good faith business transaction.

They have created an unassailable bureaucracy dedicated to tying tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars around students necks and cashing the gubmint checks as fast as they receive them.

Students are hammered from day 1 of college prep to " Turn In the FAFSA ASAP!!!" in order to be able to pay a few for the over priced ravings of a few elitist SJWs presenting such academically solid coursework as The Caucasian Heteropatriarchy Of Star Wars 301 and My Penis My Enemy 514.

And the colleges get free government handouts with zero liability while kicking students out the door with less than zero life and career skills.

Wonder why the drug-addiction and suicide rate is so high among the young?

The universities should be forced by law to cosign on those loans.

If we had a Congress that was worth a handful of birdshit they would be working on a bill to make this happen.

98 Here's a thought...

Opposition to most "conservative" (i.e. actually liberal) positions requires some form of consideration, some kind of engagement. The argument typically follows the form, "No, we can't do nothing, we have to do X because Y, Z, and you're a racist."

Opposition to most of the barbarians' positions (socialized medicine, civilian disarmament, forced acceptance of every societal perversion under the sun)... all that is needed to oppose them is the simple word "No." Or maybe, "F*ck no", if really necessary.

It's ultimately about negative liberty, I suppose.

You are free to be left alone. And if they won't leave you alone, you are free to make them leave you alone.

166 Once upon a time, Jim Jeffries was funny. I don't think he's changed from being the bitingly irreverent asshole he was a few years ago, when one of his favorite catch phrases was to call ordinary folk "dumb c*nts."

So yeah, he wasn't great, but at least he wasn't boring, as most so-called comedians are these days.

And then he got a job with Corporate Comedy Committee Central. Where comedians go to get paid to mouth the corporate... perspective.

So here we are again, one of MY favorite catch phrases: Whores will always whore for money. It matters little which way they bend, they'll bend this way or that, because the john pays them to. So Jeffries is now just another boring left wing "comedian."

Cash those checks, Jim. I'm sure it makes what you put in your mouth not taste as bad.

187 Trump-world rules vs. Obama-world rules
Obama was impeach-proofed ahead of time by threats of violence in the streets regardless of his crimes (which were many and varied)
Trump was set up for impeachment before he took office by democrats socializing this idea the day after the election
The potential harm done to an administration under investigation was brought up constantly to deflect criticism of Obama's extra-Constitutional (i.e. illegal) behavior.
No serious media person has talked about the harm being done to the country by the unremitting partisan attacks on the President and executive branch.
While all Obama-era hacks receive protection for their illegal behavior, anyone associated with Trump is fair game for ruination independent of any wrongdoing.

So I bought a Stihl. (Husqvarna was too unbalanced for my tastes, and the Poulans and other brands they had were rinky dink P's of S.

There's a reason that almost every rational person for the last several centuries has been frightened of mobs, and has tried to stop mobs from turning into political movements. Apparently no one studies the French Revolution anymore. It's not just they do the most terrible things, and feel no remorse for doing them, but also that Mobs running off emotion *always* head straight for self-destruction. They can't help it, and once they get going, no one inside it has the power to stop it.

It's what we're watching happen to the Dem Party today. They're going to destroy their party, guaranteed - the only real question is, do they gain power and destroy this country as well, before they fall apart.

I was going through a Poulan every year or two. They don't like ethanol very much and starting them after a month or two of non-use was a nightmare. Most of my cutting is light duty and a 14'' is fine. So last year I went 40 volt electric.

The benefits:
Easy to start. Just press a button. Stops quicker then a gas powered. Fairly quiet, maybe half the db's of gas. Sufficient strength to go through hardwoods.
The minuses:
Short battery life, maybe 15 minutes of continuous cutting is all you can expect. Perhaps a tad pricey because of the battery.

Precisely describes what is happening now in the Methodist church, and it breaks my heart.

The emotionally-driven pro-ghey contingent, self-assured that they occupy the moral high ground, are going to cause a schism in the church, and they don't care.

Oh, they will say "Nothing could be further from our minds...", but that is just a voiced rationalization to avoid acknowledging that their emotional wants and desires are more important to them than the well-being of the church.

I don't want the whole shootin match to be declassified because democrats and their media attack dogs will use it to try and convict people not charged with anything in the court of public opinion

Posted by: Flawless Male Logic at March 23, 2019 01:23 PM (TAmPV)

221 Exactly which "abyss" are the Dems poised to fall into? As noted above, their control (or at least the mindset exhibited by the people in) of most major institutions is solid ("education", "news", pop culture, etc). A mindset that is a separate thing but amenable to their worst instincts dominates or at least is a major factor in other institutions, including law enforcement and most federal agencies.

Their electoral fate, unlike most of past history, seems unrelated to and unaffected by actual conditions in the country, or the effects of their policies (Trump being almost the lone exception, for quite some time).

And lets forget the "other" inertia that keeps the country on its degrading course. The GOP. The small % of voters who seem to put much thought into anything, or are working with actual information despite the complete collapse of the news/information systems in the country, are trapped. And while immensely better than the situation when Dems are in control of Congress, GOP control (as seen the last 2 years) falls far short in most areas of anything approaching a change in direction.

223 So last year I went 40 volt electric.

Just getting too damn old to pull the crank 20 times.
Posted by: Newest Nic at March 23, 2019 01:15 PM (jYje5

Have always used 18" electric chainsaws. Don't have the battery powered model. Still use a long cord. No problems even when having to climb up into trees to cut.

I love it. The one I have now is ten years old.

I believe part of the rules are that he has to let the President's office see the report a certain period of time in advance so they can form a response, not so they can dictate what is released or not. Schemer knows this, and will turn it into "Trump buried information". He is trying to order Barr to break the reporting rules.

The last 18th century saw movements to install representative republics in three countries. Each took a different path and experienced different results:

America: George Washington turned the mob into a disciplined army; an eight-year-long war was fought and won, a Constitutional republic came out of it.

France: The Revolution devolved into the Reign of Terror; Napoleon became their best option, twice.

Poland: An anti-military contingency that led to the country's inability to defend itself; conquest by neighboring countries and non-existence for more than a century.

Back in the 60'-70's the anger and turmoil were concentrated in cities and various college sites where rumor and information could be spread and influenced quickly. 241 The common identity of Shi'a is only one factor in what are unsurprisingly very sharp differences between Iraqis and Iranians (talking about the majorities in both countries). The Iran-Iraq War on the Iraqi side was fought (of course) mostly by Shi'a soldiers, conscripts, who showed little problem fighting hard against a "foreign" invader. Iranian influence in Iraq is unavoidable, but is mostly accomplished via old-fashioned levers like $$$$, and other practical aid, not some Shi'a solidarity thing (which doesn't really exist on a mass scale).

Pre-mature restoration of sovereignty, and of course a passive and pathetic "strategy" (WRT both Sunni and Iranian factors), wasted time and lives for a while, but it was mostly quickly and easily fixed, eventually (well, part of it). Then of course, all tossed away (to yawns across America).

Exactly which "abyss" are the Dems poised to fall into? As noted above,
their control (or at least the mindset exhibited by the people in) of
most major institutions is solid ("education", "news", pop culture,
etc). A mindset that is a separate thing but amenable to their worst
instincts dominates or at least is a major factor in other institutions,
including law enforcement and most federal agencies.

Posted by: rhomboid at March 23, 2019 01:23 PM (QDnY+)

Those institutions are on the brink of a cliff, though. Higher ed is living on borrowed time. The new media and pop culture are also fraying.

The problem with being the hegemon is that you have nowhere to go but down.

The other problem is that over the three generations or so that the Dems built their empire, they created heirs too stupid to run it.

Joe Kennedy was a cagey hombre. His kids were screw-ups, but still somewhat competent. His grandkids are useless at everything other than killing themselves.

That's why their candidates are not only crazy, but stupid.

Sources and methods are almost the only reason something is ever classified (legitimately) to begin with.

Given that it's now confirmed much of our senior law enforcement and intel institutions are populated with lightweights, idiots, and worse - and criminals to boot - I am completely serene letting Beijing and Moscow and Tehran learn the intimate details of how these clowns operated. Strzok? Brennan? Halper? Comey? McCabe? DOJ's FISA process? Are you kidding me? Let's see the full extent of the rot, and the idiocy, better to (perhaps) fix it.

It almost reminds me of the situation in WWII WRT the Abwehr, the German military intel service. Their foreign operations were *so* inept, compromised, amateurish, corrupted, etc., that Brit intelligence actually took careful measures to try and *not* disturb things, get people fired, etc.

Pretty evident much of our intel/LE system is a pathetic clownshow, both substantively and (and this is new) in terms of integrity. A holocaust will do it good.

CAIRO (AP) - An Egyptian singer has been banned from performing in her home country after suggesting that it does not respect free speech.

A video clip circulated online shows Sherine Abdel-Wahab, during a performance in Bahrain, saying: "Here I can say whatever I want. In Egypt, anyone who talks gets imprisoned."

Egypt's Musicians Union responded late Friday by barring her from performing and summoning her for questioning.

Samir Sabry, a pro-government lawyer with a reputation for moral vigilantism and suing celebrities, filed a complaint against the singer accusing her of "insulting Egypt and inviting suspicious rights groups to interfere in Egypt's affairs."

Last year, the singer was sentenced to six months in prison over a similar clip in which she joked that the Nile is polluted. The sentence was suspended upon appeal.

These countries have benefited immeasurably from multi-generational protection, support, sacrifice, and cooperation from the US, and due to the size/importance of the countries, it's been mostly one-way. So they're much more "dependents" than "friends" or "allies". And even further, if they are allies, that is based on real interests, which don't change because of specific episodes of criminal corruption at the top.

And the sort of idiots who would play these sorts of games with the idiots on the US side we are talking about, are just as important to flush as they are here.

Let's get a few things straight.

In the first place, even allies spy on each other. They also influence each other's elections. We do it to them, they do it to us. So let's stop with that whole line of argument.

The Brits and Aussies did what the previous administration asked them to do. Based on what they knew at the time (and most "experts" said), Clinton would succeed Obama. So they helped out their ally.

Instead, Trump won. Unlike in monarchies or dictatorships, our alliances don't necessarily end upon a change in ruler. Trump knew stuff was out there, and he wanted it.

So he used leverage to get what he wanted. And he got that.

I call that mature leadership. Besides, if the Brits and Aussies helped Obama, they can also help Trump - and they will be more likely to do it based the restraint he showed - and his ability to lose that restraint if they don't play along.

284 One doesn't "burn" a relationship by responding to an act of aggression and treachery. One burns the relationship by, well, acts of aggression and treachery.

And as noted, these are extremely assymmetrical relationships. THEY are the dependents and beneficiaries, by far.

In the case of the UK, the virtual collapse of their role as even a minor military power with any will or ability to project power only reinforces the logic.

In any case these relationships, or more specifically the important parts of value to both sides, cannot be "burned". They go on much as before.

The FSB has been quite forthcoming in providing us with useful intel on a common enemy - jihadis - of which the Boston brothers is just the most well known example. The Russian Federation is hardly an "ally".

The US government asked them for help and they responded favorably.

292 No, let's get them really straight. The sort of "help" involved in a plot against one candidate in US elections is not what happens, it is not normal, it is not done. And intervention in the elections of the countries in question - not sharing polling outfits, or things like that, but colluding to pervert intel activities into political surveillance - is not done, and hasn't been, unless someone would like to increase our historical knowledge by citing an example.

Don't know anything about Trump getting what he wanted. In any case he'll be gone in 2 or 4 years, so it's about more than him, of course.

The relationship is based on interests (and, decreasingly, a common cultural and civil heritage). Those don't change, and they will remain, whatever the short-term institutional and personnel carnage occurs to fix serious problems.

Uh, okay. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

The UK and Australia had minimal involvement. What did they do? They sent some emails, maybe arranged a couple of meetings. Hardly coup material.

The real issue isn't that they obliged the Obama administration's request, it is that the Obama administration *made that request.*

As for what we got, I already discussed it. Hillary wrecked her servers. Now you can believe that NSA or someone can undo that, or you can understand that her emails are *also* in the inboxes of the recipients in Australia and the UK.

Some of those emails were "recovered" and they are very incriminating.

Is that meddling in US politics? Will Hillary facing criminal charges affect our election? You bet.

And that's how the game is played.

300 Manipulating an interviewee's answers when they are at odds with either the station or the interviewer's (usually the same) has gone on longer than you think. Even for petty news and non-famous interviewees.

I got interviewed once in Orlando, Fl about the proposed new regs about how late the downtown lake park was open. It supposedly was about the homeless but it was just political grandstanding and wouldn't have done much for the real situation; Homeless population rising.

I said as much to a news crew going around the lake interviewing the park goers during the evening (still light out tho).

I said as much as I said above. When the segment aired my interview was shown and she had me saying almost the opposite of what I had said and making flat statements when I provide some nuance to my answers. You know; context.

So I've never been surprised at nor believe anything anyone says on tv or in an interview. If someone else is supposedly repeating someone else's words and that person doesn't say that that's what they said then consider it a lie of some sort. Same in print. "Sources say" is the equivalent of "I just made this up".

Firestorms, where the fires created their own "weather" of sorts, occurred in other German and Japanese cities.

The nukes didn't have quite the same effect. They set all combustible materials within a certain range alight, of course. In Nagasaki the bomb fell off-target enough (north of town) that most of the damage in the city itself was in fact fire, but more/less a conventional fire, huge and all consuming, but not a firestorm. Think the city was too small and lacked the density to support something like that.

337 I've heard Truman didn't know it existed until he became POTUS.

This is accurate. The VP back then was not some sort of co-president. FDR ignored Truman. Nobody bothered to tell him anything important because FDR was in such great health.

338 In Nagasaki you can stand on the bridge that was the actual aimpoint for the second atomic mission (they missed, by a lot). It's sort of funny, there's just a small plaque in several languages on a stone mounting on the bridge, noting the details of the attack/missed aimpoint. A famous and very old bridge lies just a few hundred yards away, and the most famous bakery of the pound cake for which Nagasaki is known in Japan is nearby.

Not sure I believe the bombardier on that mission. Claims there was a break in the cloud cover. But they all knew they weren't bringing that thing to Okinawa (Bock's Car had a fuel problem, and with the abortive runs on Kokura, was desperately short of gas, ended up landing with fumes left on Okinawa, much closer than its home base of Tinian), or dropping it in the drink. He probably knew they were close, based on radar, and made the decision, bombs away.

339 That is literally true, and cannot be emphasized enough.

I care more about the American lives it saved.

Those fuckers picked the fight. I'm not gonna cry over their wounds.

(Also, eviscerating the Meiji mentality with such a cataclysmic event made Japan turn into a relatively decent country that's been prosperous for half a century now... a little bit weird of a place, but i dig it. Half a century of licking wounds and nursing grievances from a long, bloody, lost invasion could not possibly have ended so well for them.)

340 We're lucky that FDR dumped Henry Wallace for Truman in the 1944 convention. Wallace was either an outright commie or else a clueless dupe.

Truman certainly didn't chew his fingernails over the decision to use the bomb.

We have it? It works? How soon can you get it there and drop it on them?

Beta test to first use in less than three weeks.

Sure, but the Japanese defense plans included using civilians as suicide bombers, even children. A few instances of that and the American soldiers would have shot every civilian they encountered. They were in no mood to "win hearts and minds" by that point.

Those who condemn the atomic bombings need to be made to explain how it would have been better if Japan had lost an entire Holocaust number of civilians in a conventional invasion.

343 Barr's office has now said he will not be issuing a public summary of the Mewler report until later Sunday at the earliest. So, probably next week, nothing today at this point.

Posted by: Calm Mentor at March 23, 2019 03:18 PM (ffYR/)

344 The number of lives saved - American, Japanese, and other - through earlier Japanese surrender was immense, even if the numbers can only be estimated.

Every day the war went on, the combat and non-combat excess deaths (as a demographer or public health type would put it) were large, and growing (esp. the non-combat). Few even seem to know, or at least recall, that vast areas of SE Asia and the SW Pacific and China were under Japanese occupation, and all these areas were suffering varying degrees of economic privation, not to mention in some cases outright abuse and murder from the occupiers. Japan itself was on the cusp of a public health catastrophe.

Even if Japanese resistance to invasion had only been half-effective, or coherent for a short period, the additional human and material damage (to Japan) would have been tremendous. And the public health situation in some cases would have collapsed.

Of course the irony is that the Bombs didn't "work" as intended, strategically. They didn't shock Japan into submission. The military was pretty unmoved by the bombings. Not entirely irrationally. They were just bombs. Japan had lost most of its major cities to conventional bombings (with similar casualties) over the last 5 months. The Army's initial briefing to the Palace was that they had "counter-measures" to deal with the new American weapon.

But the Bombs *did* provide the Emperor and his "peace party" advisors with a rationale for surrender. Which is enough.

Posted by: rhomboid at March 23, 2019 03:20 PM (QDnY+)

345 From everything I've seen about it, there hardly was a "decision" to use the bomb, to even be made. It was assumed it would be used, when ready. Logically enough. The greatest single public works project in human history, in the midst of total war, was not undertaken for the fun of it. Truman's approval seems pro forma, again, quite reasonably so.

The stupid (and they were stupid) ideas about demonstration drops off Japanese territory etc were never taken seriously. But they offered a perfect preview of the sort of "morally" driven, but actually morally bankrupt, and mere ignorantly morally narcissistic, silliness that bedevils us to this day.

In other news heard on radio Barr is going to at least release a report on Mueller's time on a coup attempt. Democrats want the full report suspecting lots of damaging information that might not get released.

348 Imagine if Truman decided not to use the bomb, and ordered an invasion of Japan instead. After 500,000-1,000,000 American combat deaths, if the existence of the bomb became known, Truman would have gone down as the worst villain in American history. And rightfully so.

When my daughter was 5-6, I bought a set of Encyclopedia Britannica that was published pre 1965, very intentionally. Whenever something like this came up, I had her look it up. It not only gave her the facts, but also led her to question many things as she was able to see how history was being rewritten.

354 Everybody who predicted that the Left would soon "normalize pedophilia" as the next step is social degeneracy, pat yourselves on the back for a correct prediction.

But how many of you predicted that the celebrity who would be the one to take the first step toward excusing pedophilia would be...Barbra Streisand??!??!??:

Barbra Streisand defends Michael Jackson's pedophilia molestation

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6841461/ Barbra-Streisand-says-Michael-Jacksons -accusers-thrilled-there.html

"Streisand said she believes the victims' claims, but felt bad for both them and Jackson, adding that Jackson's 'sexual needs were his sexual needs' and the blame should lie with the boys' parents.
...
Streisand apparently did say 'it didn't kill them', and much more about Jackson, who she crossed paths with throughout their careers, and his accusers.

'You can say "molested," but those children, as you heard [grown-up Robson and Safechuck] say, they were thrilled to be there. They both married and they both have children, so it didn't kill them,' she said.

'His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has.'"

Hey, pedophiles have their needs, too. It's just natural and normal! They were "born that way"! Stop blaming them and ostracizing them for being different!

If pedophiles and all the other gender choices are born that way, then so are heterosexual kids. Yet, converting heteros is to be celebrated while trying to convert the "misgendered" is considered abhorrent abuse. Wonder how Babs and others like her square that circle?

Never been a fan of Streisand. It's really not that exceptional a voice. Like so many people who have succeeded in life, it boils down to right place, right time. She happened to be there and got incredibly wealthy.

Her willingness to downplay pedophilia I'm really concerned about. I would think that Jews might be a little more sensitive to issues that stray into Nazi-level indifference to human life.

Any party willing to kill the unborn, the freshly born, or overlook pedophilia? That's just vile. The (D)'s can have her.

359 Local news, the public defender who got Kate Steinle's murderer off died recently, age fifty something.
Autopsy showed he died from cocaine and alcohol poisoning.
He was found dead and naked, in another woman's bed.
So, he was straight, at least.

As far as Michael Jackson, as I've said in the past, I just believe he was an incredibly stunted individual, stuck in some adolescent circle-jerk of a never-ending boyhood 'Groundhogs Day'. We'll never know what was in his heart.

But so callously dismissing what we'll never know for certain, Barbara does no one any service. She should just stfu and keep worrying about high-minded matters like keeping people off the public beach in front of her mansion.
