Fun factoid: chess's rooks aren't actually castles. They're based on armored chariots, and "rook" is a slight mangling of the actual historical word, which IIRC is transliterated as "ruk" or "rukh" or something. I'm waaay too lazy to actually look up the details, but I can see how an armored chariot or whatever could get chess-fied into a castle tower, given the hot mess of depictions the rest of the pieces are.

KellyAnne Conway calls for Schiff to resign over past collusion comments. That should only be the beginning of calls for resignation. There's a long list of seditious Progs who need to resign: Watters, Swallowswell, Pelousi, Schuck Fumer, and anyone else who falsely accused PDT of treason. They have aided and abetted our domestic enemies, the Progressives. And if they won't resign, they should be recalled. And if their state has no mechanism to recall them, they should create them. Censure them. Bring some real pressure on them to abandon their office and do not let up. Let them know that this sort of hatred for a president and those who voted for him will not be tolerated. When state legislatures draw the boundary lines for voting districts, the majority party typically comes up with a map designed to keep itself in power. But can that become so blatantly political that it violates the Constitution? And how can the courts tell how much partisanship in politics is too much?
The U.S. Supreme Court takes up those questions Tuesday, returning to an issue that the justices have so far found impossible to answer. Political reformers hope the court will issue a ruling that could change the future of American politics, by allowing voting districts to become more competitive. The court hears two challenges to redrawn boundaries for congressional districts that gave an advantage to the party in power - Republicans in North Carolina and Democrats in Maryland. In both cases, groups of voters sued and lower courts declared the maps to be unconstitutional partisan gerrymanders. Posted by: Neo at March 25, 2019 09:47 AM (QkjLD) 60

Whenever someone says Mueller is owed an apology because the report is proof he was unbiased, I respond his failure to get Trump was not because of a lack of trying. He used every underhanded tactic he could. The only bridge too far for him was to falsify evidence. I'm sure he thought about it. He's an ends justify the means guy.
Posted by: Can't resist temptation at March 25, 2019 10:19 AM (oC40p) +++++ This got willowed on the last thread, but that is more or less my take on it: Only a Leftist could come up with this. Mueller isn't vindicated. He blinked because he knows he doesn't hold a trump card (pun intended). If he were to fabricate the evidence to go after Trump, Trump holds the ultimate weapon of declassification - a weapon Mueller cannot survive. The whole thing hinged on being able to find something - anything - with which to move forward. They couldn't manufacture this time, they had to discover. The only reason Mueller capitulated is that he doesn't hold a trump card. If he did, the truth wouldn't be important - it in fact isn't important, and never has been during this farce. Posted by: JackStraw at March 25, 2019 10:25 AM (/tuJf) ++++++++ Yeah, two different things and my lack of clarity munged them together. Immigration, Trade, Foreign Policy and Justice are key items. We're making progress on immigration, but there is so much riding on the courts because of the farce of national injunctions from circuit courts and our broken system. We should building refugee camps in Mexico and processing "asylum" claims there, and being tough about it. We should not be letting illegal aliens use children as human shields. We should not be allow sanctuary cities to do what they do. We'll see how the SCOTUS handles these items. I suspect we'll be disappointed. Trade and foreign policy are doing well. Restoring deterrence - something that Obama didn't lose but rather *destroyed* - is difficult and high risk. So far so good. Justice needs work. This is where Barr comes in.
