They're based on armored chariots, and "rook" is a slight mangling of the actual historical word, which IIRC is transliterated as "ruk" or "rukh" or something. I'm waaay too lazy to actually look up the details, but I can see how an armored chariot or whatever could get chess-fied into a castle tower, given the hot mess of depictions the rest of the pieces are.

That should only be the beginning of calls for resignation. There's a long list of seditious Progs who need to resign: Watters, Swallowswell, Pelousi, Schuck Fumer, and anyone else who falsely accused PDT of treason. They have aided and abetted our domestic enemies, the Progressives.

And if they won't resign, they should be recalled. And if their state has no mechanism to recall them, they should create them. Censure them. Bring some real pressure on them to abandon their office and do not let up. Let them know that this sort of hatred for a president and those who voted for him will not be tolerated.

The rooks and trees can't be removed since they're the subject. Something else has to go, or be moved. The buildings are minor details. They have a purpose, but can be altered anyway that's needed to create a better composition without destroying the meaning.

I think (hope) that it unshackles Trump to some degree. Pursuing the bad buys or reigning the SDNY would be "obstruction." The investigation is over, so there is no obstruction. The ax can start swinging now. At least, I hope so.

I like watching birds in the US, and I was extremely disappointed about how little variety there was in the UK, it was quite a surprise. I will see more species in my back yard in an average morning than I saw in my entire two weeks in the UK, and we travelled quite a bit.

This got willowed on the last thread, but that is more or less my take on it:

Only a Leftist could come up with this. Mueller isn't vindicated. He blinked because he knows he doesn't hold a trump card (pun intended). If he were to fabricate the evidence to go after Trump, Trump holds the ultimate weapon of declassification - a weapon Mueller cannot survive.

The whole thing hinged on being able to find something - anything - with which to move forward. They couldn't manufacture this time, they had to discover.

The only reason Mueller capitulated is that he doesn't hold a trump card. If he did, the truth wouldn't be important - it in fact isn't important, and never has been during this farce.

The court cases that were started over a year ago when the Trump administration attempted to shutdown federal funds to sanctuary cities is still working it's way through the courts. This process starred long before Barr came along.

Yeah, two different things and my lack of clarity munged them together. Immigration, Trade, Foreign Policy and Justice are key items.

We're making progress on immigration, but there is so much riding on the courts because of the farce of national injunctions from circuit courts and our broken system. We should building refugee camps in Mexico and processing "asylum" claims there, and being tough about it. We should not be letting illegal aliens use children as human shields. We should not be allow sanctuary cities to do what they do. We'll see how the SCOTUS handles these items. I suspect we'll be disappointed.

Trade and foreign policy are doing well. Restoring deterrence - something that Obama didn't lose but rather *destroyed* - is difficult and high risk. So far so good.

Justice needs work. This is where Barr comes in. I hope to be surprised by Barr, but suspect I won't be.
