Jeff Bezos and His Media Allies Pushed a Fake Dossier Alleging Trump-Saudi Collusion to Interfere With the Results of His Dick-Pics
And Yet The Media Refuses Any Accountability for Even More Fake News

Flawless Male Logic suggests the alternate headline, Jeff Bezos and the Mystery of the Dirty Sanchez.

Byron York, who is definitely no cuck but who unfortunately works for the Cuck Emporium Washington Examiner:

Sometimes stories are simpler than they're made out to be. That appears to be the case with Jeff Bezos.

When the National Enquirer reported that Bezos, the Amazon founder who is the world's richest man, was having an extramarital affair and had sent racy texts, including photos of his penis, to his girlfriend, Bezos assembled a high-priced legal and PR team to mount an aggressive defense.

All of a sudden, sympathetic commentators began suggesting Bezos had been hacked. There was word that a "government entity" had gotten hold of the texts and photos. There was dark speculation of international intrigue, that Saudi Arabia might have used the Enquirer to target Bezos, who owns the Washington Post, in retaliation for the Post's coverage of the murder of the columnist and Saudi regime critic Jamal Khashoggi. And of course, President Trump played some sort of behind-the-scenes role.

Bezos orchestrated it all, using his security consultant to feed information to his newspaper, and also writing a much-discussed personal statement published on Medium.

He then quotes Lawrence O'Donnell, Chuck Todd, and Chris Cuomo breathlessly "reporting" (repeating dictated lines, really) about "hacking" and possible "government entities" and of course the specter of Trump lurking in background.

Turns out, it was Michael Sanchez, the gossipy brother of Jeff Bezos' lover (who herself was gossipy and indiscreet about the affair, as mistresses jonesing for a Level Up tend to be).

Now, the Wall Street Journal reports that Michael Sanchez, "a talent agent who has managed television pundits and reality-show judges" has also "long been a source for the Enquirer." And, according to the paper, Michael Sanchez sold the Bezos texts to the Enquirer for $200,000.

Imagine that. Mogul sends deeply private texts to gossipy L.A. girlfriend who has gossipy, fame-hungry brother, and somehow it gets out! No Saudis required.

So he hired a private dick to distract away from his public dick, and it turned out that distraction was fabricated fake news.

Jordan Shaechtel wants to know where the media's usual lecturing about Partisan Conspiracy Theories has suddenly gone off to.

“For reasons still to be better understood, the Saudi angle [the Washington Post's reporting on the death of their "reporter," Qatari government agent Jamal Kashoggi] seems to hit a particularly sensitive nerve,” Bezos said in promoting the evidence-free conspiracy theory that Saudi Arabia was involved in his personal affairs.

With each day that passed, Bezos appeared to become more and more convinced that the publicizing of his extramarital affair was the result of a Trump-Saudi-National Enquirer collusion conspiracy. They were all out to get him, for a variety of reasons, he concluded.

As recently as this past weekend, a private investigator hired by Mr. Bezos was telling reporters (including individuals who work for Bezos' Washington Post) that it was possible the Trump administration itself had "hacked" his text messages.

All three parties alleged in the Bezos conspiracy theory immediately and unequivocally rejected the idea that they were involved at all. Nonetheless, the government “hacking” and Trump-Saudi conspiracy theory set off a firestorm in the media, with unrelenting coverage on CNN and MSNBC, along with countless legacy media reporters and NeverTrump commentators parroting the completely unproven claims trotted out by the Bezos machine. Some commentators, such as CNN's Don Lemon, even celebrated the conspiratorial allegations as a "boss move."

BTW, Shaechtel's last paragraph there is loaded to links of leftist media and NeverTrump figures (but I repeat myself) spreading this evidence-free, motivated-reasoning conspiracy theory around.

The media and the NeverTrumpers are constantly preening that among the many, many, many things that make them better and smarter is their shared ability to see through the silly wack-a-doo conspiracy theories that appeal to Hobbits and Deplorables, and see the world as it really is.

They constantly run negative stories about the right's "conspiracy theories," both actual conspiracy theories without evidence (the Sandy Hook false flag nonsense) and legitimate questions that are deemed Unutterable because they contradict cherished leftist/NeverTrump narratives (such as Hillary's guilt in the email matter, or unresolved questions about the actual state of her health).

And yet they run with their own conspiracy theories with shameless abandon.

No preening from AllahPundit about his liberal palz' and NeverTrump buddies' eagerness to embrace this conspiracy theory?

Why does the preening suddenly stop, Old Buddy? Is it no fun to dunk on NeverTrump hobbits and media allies in the War on Trump?

No hectoring from Chuck Todd about his own willingness to spread fabricated #Fakenews on behalf of a political and media ally in the middle of a sex scandal?

No comment from "Media Analyst" Little Brian Stelter about CNN's eagerness to peddle fake news fabricated by owned-and-operated "investigators" looking to make a political impact?

Oh that's right -- 90% of CNN's content the past three years has been fake news fabricated by owned-and-operated "investigators" looking to make a political impact.

No questions about whether the Washington Post itself was encouraged, or thought that it would be appreciated, to pursue their owner's pet conspiracy theory? Or avoid reportage which would debunk the conspiracy theory?

No apologies? No accountability?

No simple explanation as to how this happened, how this slipped by people's internal mental gatekeepers?

No? Nothing at all?

Good thread below.

More: Schaechtel wrote another piece about this, containing even more media figures spreading Bezos' Fake Dossier on Trump-Saudi Collusion to Interfere in the Results of His Dick-Pics.

It ends thus:

By all accounts, Jeff Bezos invented a Trump-Pecker-Saudi collusion conspiracy theory out of thin air. Not even the world's richest man should be allowed to get away with spreading incriminating hoaxes. After all, "Democracy Dies in Darkness."

14 There will be no accountability until people hold the media to account. Sure, CNN's ratings are garbage tier, but enough people still watch, and the media types - especially the TruCons - continue to promote their stories and clips.

Hell, Hugh Hewitt has Mike Allen on every Monday, and talks about "his friends at MSNBC," but never calls them on the carpet when they dredge up these conspiracy fantasies.

Sure, Hewitt will decry the Freedom Caucus - early and often - but Lord forbid he calls out his leftist friends.

In this thing, as in all things, they are projecting. They spin conspiracies and call them truth. They decry as conspiracy any exposure of their conspiracies. Back when they pretended to be honest, it was harder to separate the wheat (truth) from the chaff (lies). Since they have gone whole-hog on Leftist war, however, it has gotten much easier: there is no wheat. There is only chaff. We have now been delivered to a point where either of these work equally well:
1) Disregard any mainstream reporting altogether and strive to find truth elsewhere
- or -
2) Invert any mainstream reporting to find a quick and probably serviceable facsimile of the truth.

In this particular case, approach 2 would not work well since the reporting wasn't an inversion but an outright lie. Approach 1 *always* works at this point, but is much harder.

The optimism is stunning. Bezos lied and put out an insane conspiracy theory because he knows leftist assholes eat it up. In turn, AMI has every reason to cover for Dirty Sanchez until it blows over. Of course, now I'm wondering if Lauren was a honeypot, used for the specific purpose of ruining Bezos. I mean, her brother is the AMI contact?

Either way, the problem for Bezos is that he's made some very powerful enemies, all in the name of winning a news cycle. Hope the rest of his reporters go the way of Khashoggi.

92 In this thing, as in all things, they are
projecting. They spin conspiracies and call them truth. They decry as
conspiracy any exposure of their conspiracies. Back when they pretended
to be honest, it was harder to separate the wheat (truth) from the chaff
(lies). Since they have gone whole-hog on Leftist war, however, it has
gotten much easier: there is no wheat. There is only chaff. We have now
been delivered to a point where either of these work equally well:

1) Disregard any mainstream reporting altogether and strive to find truth elsewhere

- or -

2) Invert any mainstream reporting to find a quick and probably serviceable facsimile of the truth.

In this particular case, approach 2 would not work well since the
reporting wasn't an inversion but an outright lie. Approach 1 *always*
works at this point, but is much harder.

Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at March 20, 2019 01:41 PM (I2dne)

They claim the mantle of science (AGW-consensus), and math (socialized medicine), and decry as dirty deniers anyone who questions leftist orthodoxy. Deny them that high ground quickly and loudly.

And as a number 3) Recognize that it is standard Alinsky that they accuse you what they are guilty of doing; A/K/A projection. That is muh Russia in a nutshell.

103 The problem with conspiracy theories isn't that they are wrong, though they usually are. They almost always assume a level of intelligence and competence beyond normal people.

The problem with conspiracy theories is that once you start down that road, it becomes impossible to stop or turn around. Conspiracy theories flourish only when you simply refuse to acknowledge the reality that contradicts them and when you do that in one case, it becomes harder to not do it all the time.

We've now had THREE YEARS of Very Important People promoting a fact-free conspiracy theory about Trump and Russia. Once you've jumped through the mental hoops to go along with that, swallowing something like the Bezos-Saudia Arabia nonsense becomes to easy to resist.

I didn't dislike it, but it was a major step down from season 1.

The first was wonderful and opened up so many possibilities. The second felt like a repeat. It never really evolved the mythology any more than in small increments, which kept any sort of mystery from really growing that much.

And then the episode in Philadelphia.

The trailer looks like 3's going to do more (the shots of lightning is what makes that somewhat evident to me), but it's pretty obvious that the wonderfulness that was season 1 was a fluke.

Season 1 had nostalgia and wonderful senses of mystery.

Season 2 spun its wheels, tried to create a spinoff, and still had plenty of nostalgia.

I'm cautiously optimistic that Season 3 will be a step up from Season 2, but I'm not expecting anything great.

Agreed, the side story of other "numbered" kids was a distraction. If they stick to the premise and let the character develop rather than turning it into a morality play it will be good.

But alas, they took a year off and I am sure that they will have a "Trump" character in there to bash. There is no way Netflix won't use a plum vehicle built form a simple enjoyable show to beat up Trump, they will destroy the show if they have to.

I'm getting sick of Big Tech all around. I'm now in favor of using government power to destroy them all. I've come a long way, baby.

Fuck Microsoft in particular. I just had a nightmare with them and Windows 10 Activation. This morning, I noticed the install on my new machine had deactivated itself and refused to reactivate.

The trouble was triggered, apparently by having to reflash some MAC addresses on the Ethernet controllers on the mo/bo. During a BIOS flash upgrade, the MAC address on one of them got wiped out. That required getting a tool from ASRock to reflash it.

I did that last night and that screwed up whatever hardware signature Windows uses.

Well, it took over 3 hours on the phone to get it fixed. I had to go through attempts at conversation with some Indian woman with such a thick accent I couldn't hardly understand her at all.

Finally, I got up the chain enough to speak with someone who knew what he was doing and could speak English. Something had screwed up with the license ID when I bought this copy online.

He had to generate a new product key, and that took 15 minutes. Maybe they have use the NSA's secret supercomputers to generate such a key or something.

Anyway, it's reactivated now.

There is no reason in hell something has to be this damn difficult.

260 I dunno. Season two showed the government successors trying to manage and contain what their predeccessors had unleashed, and the mystery of damage to the surrounding area being noticed by the few locals in the know made sense.

The fact that an M-16, in the hands of a main character suddenly being far more effective than they were in season 1 OR in the hands of EVERYONE ELSE IN THE BUILDING was typical plot device magic
Posted by: Baghdad Bob at March 20, 2019 02:09 PM (6rX0K)

============

Posted by: TheJamesMadison, Read Some Movie Thoughts

With Eleven traveling and joining the group in Philly, we learned more about the government operation, and it's scope. her meeting her mother added to that.

The brief visit by the sheriff to the facility led to an explanation of what we saw in season #1, what they were doing to contain it, and the seriousness the government attached to it. Hell, we saw one creature in the first season. We were treated to a bevy of baddies, including the big looming thing.

I Think that season #2 did go places, ironically in the same town. The death toll of non-government types is under a handful, which makes it believable, for now.

The new creatures were just...more of the same creatures. It was like Aliens with the Queen.

The stuff around the government conspiracy moved more, but I really don't think many viewers (at least not me) cared that much about the conspiracy. It's the upside-down and the kids with weird powers.

The problem is that the episode in Philly didn't actually contribute to any story. It was so obviously a backdoor pilot (that failed) and functioned as a mere distraction from the actual story.

Again, I don't think it's bad, but it was rather heavily flawed in ways that the first season was not.

Only a handful of people know, and/or were killed by these things. The way that the school became a shooting gallery in season #1 is hard to explain away (noise, shit ton of bullet holes)

The few who know have ties to the area and are keeping the secret. They do show how some feel guilt about one person being killed ad the parents not knowing their fate.

Since most of the facility became Purina nth dimension chow, it would be interesting to know if any of them lived locally, cause the death toll skyrocketed.

Bezos is not stupid. I've seen and researched some things in business school and he is pretty smart about business.

But smart people are generally really stupid about things too.
Hell, I work with some of the smartest stupid people in the world,

Anyway, just saying. And no, I don't work for the guy. His laugh is irritating.

I mean, just look at Bezos and the slight lazy eye thing he's got going on now. That's James Bond villain stuff, right there with the shaved head.

Anway, look at him and imagine him uttering my favorite Bond villain's line (that was Drax in Moonraker). After a meeting with bond, with mutual contempt veiled in formal pleasantries, Bond leaves.

Drax turns to his henchmen and says, "Look after Mr. Bond. See that some harm comes to him."

I can see Bezos saying that.

And later, after Bond has escaped the umpteenth death trap Drax has set for him, he sets up another, and say, "Observe, Mr. Bond, your means of conveyance from this world to the next."

Bezos could totally say something like that.

380 Michael Bay gets a lot of grief but he does a good job of telling an exciting story, even if it makes no sense and you can't tell what's going on part of the time. Abram just can't pull that off.

383 359 You'd think the money would have learned their lesson from Lost, instead they gave JJ Abrams the reins for the Star Trek reboot (disaster) and, yeah, I'll throw Star Wars in there for good measure.

JJ Abrams is great at dazzling at first glance then upon further review realizing it was terrible. I really liked the first Star Trek he did because it was a neat recreation. But thinking more and more about it, it just got worse and worse. Abrams doesn't have any skill as a storyteller, but he's great with visuals and cinematography. Should stick to what he knows.
Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at March 20, 2019 02:37 PM (39g3+)

Yup.

Same problem afflicts Zach Snyder.

Both of them, sadly, think they can tell a story. But they can't or won't learn how to do that all the way.

in the rebooted Season 3 of Twin Peaks? I was eager to watch it, to finally see everything resolved, and the dirty bastards just made up more nonsense they had no idea how to resolve. Also, the whole reason I was watching, for Special Agent Dale Cooper, did not show up until episode 16 of an 18 episode run. And then he wasn't even himself in episode 18. So I got 20 minutes of the thing I was watching the show for.

Ouch.

I do like David Lynch and have never had a huge love for Twin Peaks (I gave up about halfway through season 2). Maybe season 3 will appeal to me.

That episode was so very awful. The goofy "team" was terrible and filled with terrible actors.

Watching The Expanse now. Just started Season 3.

IMHO Season 1 and 2 were worth watching.

Season 3 was interminable.

Every scene was 9 minutes longer than it should have been.

The action was so slow as to be non existent. Soliloquy after soliloquy with pointless characters waxing the elephant over everything.

The lesbo priestess was pointless. The scarfaced Captain Forgettable or whatever was pointless. The kid with the tatted up face was pointless.
The girl Martian marine that became sorta interesting in the first 2 seasons looked like frkn Doris Day in comparison to most of those morose, over-dramatic goofy add-ons in S3.

JMHO.

403 The puzzler for scrupulous tech bloggers, even very anti-Trump folks, was always: What service was Bezos using?!?! Everyone assumed it would be iMessage, which is incredibly secure, and that cast doubt that the Saudis would have somehow intercepted messages between them (or even hacked their phones).

The more plausible explanation was always that she shared it or a friend got on her phone.
