Nick Sandman's Attorney Releases Video Attacking CNN, The Washington Post, and HBO for Putting the Reputation and Life of Their Client in Jeopardy

My first thought was I don't know if they should be trying their case in public, but it's not as if their legal strategy would be hard to guess, and maybe it's a good idea to put these "media giants" on notice that the jury they ultimately face will be exposed to a lot of this sort of outside-the-courtroom persuasion over the next year.

So maybe it's time for a very painful settlement.

Emphasizing that all these people had to do was watch 20 minutes of video before smearing young innocent schoolboys for outrage clicks, money, and partisan political advantage for the Democrat Party is important, and they beat that drum again here.

This is a media war. Or should I say anti-media war. As a philosophical battle, in public space might be the best battlefield for this particular litigation. As public as possible might provide the most tangible payoff if it isn't just about the money. And I really don't think this is just about the money even though I hope Sandman and his legal representation take gobs and gobs of it in the process.

101 OT, but this is my first break all day

Dear Willard Mitt Rmoney

I voted for you for MA governor in 2002
I voted for you in the GOP Presidential primary in 2008
I voted for you for President in 2012 though it was painfully obvious you were taking a dive in a very winnable race

Your vote today takes my past support for you and literally pisses on it.

So long as you take up space in the Senate with an (R) after your name neither the NRC or NRSC will get a red fucking cent of my money. I will instead contribute liberally to anyone, from any party, who challenges you for re-election.

Do is all a favor and join your fellow travelers among the open borders fanatics on the left, you duplicitous, traiterous pile of rancid pig shit.

I got this email from Catholic Vote:

Yesterday, a federal appeals court based in Cincinnati voted 11-6 to uphold Ohio's new law prohibiting state funding for organizations that perform abortions -- including Planned Parenthood.

And you guessed it: four Trump-appointed judges voted in favor of respecting the will of the people, and keeping the law in place.

Just this week, the Senate confirmed Paul Matey to the 3rd Circuit Court based in Philadelphia. He is the 35th appeals court judge nominated by Trump to receive a lifetime appointment to the federal bench. And just today, the 36th appeals court judge was confirmed. Now, over 20% of sitting appeals court judges across the country are Trump appointees.

But Matey's confirmation marked another important milestone. The 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals has now flipped from majority Democratic appointees to majority Republican appointees. Soon, the 11th Circuit Court is going to flip as well.

Just keep packing those courts with Trump judges.

151 One major point here:

There was no societal or national interest about a rowdy bunch of schoolkids.
No one was violent, no one got hurt. No one was attacked. No crimes were committed.
The media orgs simply saw some details that made them decide these kids were The Other, and they lashed out to destroy them.
No crisis, no crime, no reason to splash it across the nation.
And they showed a selectively-edited video (really, this time) to make the narrative they wanted about a group of schoolkids who were NOT PUBLIC FIGURES IN ANY WAY.
A kid accused of MURDER would have his identity protected, but not these kids. And they were lambasted by professional adults across the media for several days based on a deliberately distorted account.
This was a long series of deliberate choices to continue with an unethical, unfair, and evil process for nothing other than the desire to foment hate and anger in the way they wanted it.

It's no big deal because it's their world, but if you could go back to the late 70s and show people that we'd be not-quite-friends but working together in a space station, sending rockets up from all over the world, and that regular people could watch the launch from cheap pocket-sized computers that they could carry around in their pockets when they didn't need to search for the sum of all human knowledge...

We live in an amazing time.

284 @219 Beto wants to pack the Supreme Court.
---------------------

Some of the Dems and their academic allies have been quietly pushing this. They know that Trump has a good chance to completely remake the court (especially if Ginsberg has to leave the court, one way or another). And if that happens, then the only options open to them are to either successfully impeach one or more of the justices, or keep adding more justices until they have a majority again.

Leaving things "as is" until they finally get a Democratic president in office who can make some strategic court picks is, of course, something that they refuse to consider.

317 I think I know why they're releasing things like this - you're right, trying this in public isn't the best courtroom strategy. But the best strategy for you client is to create a big enough stink that one of the targets blinks and settles - and then you can use that as leverage to get a whole string of settlements in turn.

it's the lawfare strategy that Leftist groups have been perfecting for the last 30 or 40 years, it's nice to see it turned round on them.

As to those who really want this to go to court - any defendant can tie this up in motions and whatever for years and years. Just look at what's happened with Mark Stein's case against Michael Mann; I've lost count of how many years that thing has been stuck in limbo.

360 speaking of bras, the only really funny part of this season of the awful commie show Broad City was when the moms took the two girls bra shopping.

From my experience, my girl friends have no idea what their bra sizes are or how to use the snuggy thing that adjusts the goddamned thing.

anway...the mom's say your best investment is a proper bra, and it's lol funny, one girl who's flat was like "oh, I'm a 34C" while the other thought she was maybe a B cup but they ended up getting her a 30HH bra which, if you like boobs, is hilarious. and awesome.

In order to let everyone pick and choose, 2/3rds of the channels would be dead overnight. Both the networks and the cable providers won't stand for that so they're set on extracting maximum value while slowly bleeding customers.

Why would the "guy in the basement" want to maintain an archive of hundreds of thousands of VPN connection logs on his server which is limited on space?

443 59 Thinking of Insom, I'm reminded of an episode of Black Sheep Squadron. When Boyle was returned, his friends asked why it took so long to rescue him. I came down on an island full of beautiful women, he says. It took the Navy two days to find me and three days to catch me!

460 just read a rundown of a twitter fight between Popehat and Michael Avenatti recently. Damn, I knew Avenatti was a scumbag, but didn't realize he was totally deranged!

The story's at HA, hate to give them the thumbs up but it's freaking hilarious.

466 I hope that FB and Twitter suits are coming. They lost their neutral platform exemption status when they banned full video and anyone pro-Covington kids. They are fully responsible for the content they edit, and their preferred leftists are responsible for 99.9% of racial and political violence.
