***

Happy Saturday Horde! Let's take a peek at a few stories that didn't get too much attention here at the AoSHQ this past week.

  • Happy Birthday Dad!

  • SMH.

  • I'm forgetful, but gee-whiz.

  • Damn snowbank! I'll show you!!

  • Hi-Ho Silver

  • Just for you tea drinkers.

  • You're Number #1 is constitutionally protected.

  • UK Members of Parliament are as retarded as our congress critters.

  • To service and protect

  • What the hell is wrong with parents?

  • I wonder what his nic is here at the AoS?

Open thread away or discuss these stories. Just remember, be nice to the 'ettes and their hair. No cooties in there. No running with sharp objects and play nice.

    Have a great weekend!!

1 So if they put GPS in all knives would not the "criminal classes" just make shivs?

Perhaps Miss Bluebell could teach a class to raise funds for her next cook book project.

    8 Good Saturday morning, horde!

I could be working this morning, came in to a new job 8 months behind. But we have a contractor coming in an hour to tell us how much of a fortune we need to remodel our kitchen! I'm kinda excited about that.

"It's time we had a national database like we do with guns.

This is what I think needs to be done. At birth, every baby needs to have all four limbs amputated. They would be replaced by robotic limbs that would by default be controlled by the brain, but that would be continually monitored by an AI program to see if the person's intended action for the limb would result in harming another person. If this were the case, the AI would override the person's will and prevent the limb from carrying out the intended action.

This could in time be augmented in order to prevent people from harming themselves through carelessness, or through irresponsible behavior such as smoking, drinking and eating junk food. It could force them to take proper exercise as well.

This would be analogous to taking the motivation for self-driving cars and extending it to include the human body.

    ...........

My wife has an Encore. Very nice car for the money.

It's Buick's entry level vehicle, and has a lot of the nice Buick features at a pretty nice price.

Just make sure you are comfortable in the driver's seat. I'm overweight and find it just barely big enough - knee space.. and the arm rest is a little strange. But if you are comfortable in it, it is a very reliable car.

I saw your comment about Waiting For Columbus late last night in a dead thread. A local appearance in Cleveland as part of the supporting tour for that album was the first social thing I did in the late 70s after suffering a pretty bad concussion playing basketball. I'd seen them many times previously starting with them opening for Bonnie Raitt as part of a supporting tour for her Give It Up release. The concert was great (my life was saved by rock n roll) but Lowell George was as big as a house. I think he was wearing nothing but bib overalls by then because it was the only thing he could squeeze into. I thought "shit, that ain't good" and unfortunately was right. Just an incredible live band though.

A lot of stuff that is labeled Munchausen's by proxy in press and blogs is not. But this case has all the hallmarks.

Yep, there was a classic case of a nurse who worked for a pediatrician, I think in a small rural community. Every now and then, a little tyke would go into some sort of medical distress, and somehow, someway, this nurse always seemed to be there in a flash, ready to perform "heroic" measures to save the day.

Except, occasionally, she didn't. So a body count of children was mounting.

I even think the pediatrician was somehow suspected of something or other (I don't remember), and the way they eventually caught this nurse, I believe, was a clerk who discovered they were going through some kind of medication like gangbusters. Just spending tons of money on the stuff, when a typical practice of that size might utilize a very very tiny percentage of what they were using.

Turns out this nurse was the classic MbP type. Lonely, narcissistic, probably psychopathic. Everyone thought she was the angel of mercy. Not sure how many kids she killed, but it was more than she should have.

The fascinating thing about Bob O'Rourke's wild arm gestures is they make no sense -- the gestures are totally random.

There are common hand/arm gestures compatible with one's speech. For instance, we can all recognize the gesture for "however," and the spreading of arms when one will say "all." These gestures are for emphasis, like italics with our hands and arms. We do it with our eyes, too.

Bob O'Rourke is just moving his arms around at random.

I love the atomic age 50s decor. I want an entire set of Franciscan Starburst dishes! Of course, I don't have the house for it, but I love the look. I guess because I was born in '63 and the carryover was still very present in my early years.

214 Good luck, and congratulations to your daughter. My kidlets had a 3-hour
in-state driving rule. For dire emergencies and breaks, for my kids no
matter how poor we were and are, transportation was the biggest expense.

That's a great rule. One of my kids went to school in California and every time she had a crisis freshman year it was potentially also a budget crisis, not to mention a "short trip" there and back was basically three days out of your life. I rue the day she signed up to go so far away.

227 illegal aliens are indeed her constituents ... or at least usage 3. is "a person represented by an elected official". Usage 2. is "a voter".

There could be a district with 700,000 illegals, and one legal, and they would have the one be their rep. Only the rep could vote (for federal offices, some cities I think, allow illegals to vote. Currently, probably at least 20 reps are mostly representing illegals, another 60 have a very heavy illegal constituency. They will all be Dem reps, doesn't matter if the illegals can't vote, except in swaying the Senate and Prez' elections.

SCOTUS has said illegals must be represented, that is how the districts are decided. The next census will (probably) ask the "are you here legally?" question, but it won't matter as far as delegates and reps go. (and there will be no way to validate their answers).

If you're interested, look up the stats when they ask supposedly "moderate" muzzies how tolerant they are of Western ways, when it comes to things like being fans of Isis, stoning daughters who were raped, female circumcision, the 9/11 attacks, and so on and so on and so on.

You want us to condemn one lone gunman who shot up a mosque, as if he represents something more than himself.

The supposed religion of peace is adhered to by more than a billion people, and roughly 70% of them are all in for your death. Or your submission. They're not too particular about which.

So yeah, fall in line, condemn this attack, call for more gun control, because eventually those muzzies WILL be ruling the world, the way we're going. And then you won't have a choice as to what you do and do not condemn.

    Submit or die.

    ==========================
Thanks to all for the congrats. I wouldn't get too depressed over the ed. system. Maybe my views are tilted a bit: we live in one of the nicer districts, and my wife is coordinator for the performing arts program.
Both my girls played Carnegie Hall w/the orchestra, that was an amazing sight. There are conservatives in education. Their views are tamped down, to be sure. And the trans. fad needs to die, (and it will). Higher ed is pretty much boned, but I think that's changing too: my 2 daughters generation is THE most pro-life generation in 80 years. Also, I maintain one of the most conservatising forces is getting your first actual paycheck, and looking at gross v. net. And a lot of their friends are well into college and have never seen a pay stub.
It wasn't easy, but somehow through all of this I raised 2 conservative girls who love Jesus, and are moving in a positive direction.

Slow down, slow down! I can't keep track of them all, and how am I supposed to properly mourn all those deaths, whist condemning each and every lone killer for his or her particular act of unkindness.

294 "Islam is at war with Western Civilization and aims to conquer and
subjugate us. Most of Western Civilization is still in denial" rickl

Right, but to me, the Bigger Point, is that our globalist bullies are deliberately marching an intolerant non-Western culture into our midst, with intent to crush traditional Western values. This is part of their path to THEIR NWO.

It is only a slight variation of Marxist Critical Theory. They demand "multi-culti" tolerance, but the Muslim camps work toward Sharia (and overthrow), even though, sure, there are some "innocents" that are not the active militant arm of Islam. But they are the "base camp".

When the old world armies were victorious, the defeated populations were removed to other lands, or the males killed, to complete the defeat of the people. The globalists can't remove us, but they can flood the land with the third world, and even antagonistic peoples. And they insist our borders stay open.

297 Just an observation on the mosque shootings in NZ: atrocity tends to breed atrocity. Retribution by non-Muslims for all the murders and rapes they've caused is really long overdue; I'm surprised something like this hasn't happened before now. I would have expected it in France or India first, though.

The reality is that Muslims, as a group, just don't work and play well with others unless they are under direct threat of serious punishment for being violent. They don't cause trouble in Singapore, for example, because they know that even talking violence will get them deported.

An Indian Imam here made some prayer for "victory over Christians and Jews" at a Friday prayer meeting. He was back in India, deported and permanently barred from Singapore, before a week was out.

The Government in SG is pretty low key about it, but they definitely keep a VERY close watch on Muslims here, and an even closer one on what is being said in mosques here. Anybody mentioning "jihad" here better be condemning it or they had better have their bags packed, because their feet won't touch before they find themselves unceremoniously booted out of the country for good.

That is for just talking. Commit violence causing death here and Singapore will quickly have the offender follow the victim into that same state. They don't fool around. There is no waiting decades on death row in Singapore.

Seems like their system works very well at crime deterrence. This is probably the safest place I've ever lived. The U.S., not to mention Brazil, could learn a great deal from the way these people do things. Of course, that assumes that politicians in the U.S. and Brazil actually want to improve the way their people live, an assumption one cannot take for granted...

Good grief, the only thing I would suggest, to anyone thinking of getting a puppy... figure out how old you are now. Figure out the average life expectancy of your particular dog breed. Add that number to your age.

That's how old you will be when the thing dies.

Until then, you won't be able to go anywhere, do anything, without considering who will be watching it, and if you take it with you everywhere you go, everyone you know will secretly think you're a stupid fool for doing so, even though they won't tell you.

Well, your crazy aunt might. She's not afraid to say what's on her mind. At her age, why should she. And she knows when she finally dies, her cats will be fine for weeks and weeks, feeding on her corpse before anyone discovers the smell coming from her home.

    Quietly, she's ok with that.

At least she won't have a stupid dog that needs to be coddled every minute of every day, lest it think it's being abandoned.

The fascinating thing about Bob O'Rourke's wild arm gestures is they make no sense -- the gestures are totally random.

There are common hand/arm gestures compatible with one's speech. For
instance, we can all recognize the gesture for "however," and the
spreading of arms when one will say "all." These gestures are for
emphasis, like italics with our hands and arms. We do it with our eyes,
    too.

Bob O'Rourke is just moving his arms around at random.
