Julie Kelly Lights Up David French, The Bulwark, and The National Review

When Cabin Boys attack.

Sadly, Hanson's colleagues and editors at National Review were silent about this vulgar and vicious attack against a man who undoubtedly has prevented the outlet from losing legions of subscribers given its mostly anti-Trump approach over the past three years. Aside from a few nonspecific tweets that linked to Hanson's piece, no one has offered a strong rebuke of Schoenfeld or The Bulwark: It's too bad that Hanson isn’t a Native American elder because in that case, perhaps NR editors immediately would have swooped in to defend him.

To the contrary, David French, a self-appointed referee of all that is good and moral and decent, appeared on Sykes' podcast for The Bulwark five days after the Hanson hit piece was posted. French, a social media hall monitor who just changed his Twitter avatar to the fictional news anchor Ron Burgundy in order to scold people to "stay classy," giggled along with Sykes on a number of topics, including this week's mobbing of Tucker Carlson. But French failed to confront Sykes about Schoenfeld's article, instead choosing to lament recent comments by another Fox News host about anti-Semite Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.).

The Bulwark and its enablers like French continue to do more damage to our political discourse while professing to elevate it. The depth of their intellectual rot is matched only by their witless political sense and their schoolyard bully tactics. But no doubt their leftist benefactors are proud of their work in the service of genuine social evil.

One more thing: She points out that this Romney Presidential Campaign Adviser (strong work!) claimed that it was silly to say that Hillary and Fusion schemed to use "The Dossier" as a political attack, using the FBI as her attack vector, because, you see, they never attempted to publicize the dossier before the election, and it never was publicized before the election.

John Huber quotes dozens of media sources quoting or alluding to the dossier before the election -- including The Bulwark's founder/front-man-for-Pierre-Omidyar Bill Kristol advertising its contents in, I think September 2016 -- and demands that The Bulwark, which claims to be highly virtuous and honest, correct its plain lies.

They won't, of course. The thing is about SJWs -- and NeverTrumpers are in fact SJWs -- is that they are so convinced of their Divine Righteousness that they believe that any lie, any smear, and dishonesty is justified by their Inherent Goodness.

So the lie will stand, and The Bulwark will continue fulminating against "liars" and "grifters" and "conmen" in the movement.

We're Not Pretending to be Conserving Conservatism Any More:

Because it has nothing to do with "education", it only has to do with what club you're auditioning to join. And they don't give a damn about Boston or New York, they're auditioning for the Beverly Hills Party Circuit, Front Row Seats at the Lakers Games Club, that kind of thing, with a free invite to Gavin Newsom's digs in Sacramento every now and then. There are no actual crimes in this FBI assault on citizens. No crimes. So people cheated on tests. Big whoop. It's not an actual crime.

Coaches lied to colleges they worked for about who they were recruiting. Big whoop. Not a crime. IN fact, much of that bullshit is even forced by Title IX crap, anyway.

No one at the FBI or Justice or whomever took part in this asinine abuse of power and mockery of law should be able to skate away from this. THye should all be arrested and thrown in jail awaiting trials that we might let them have in 5 or 10 years. That's what these lowlifes deserve.

The whole thing is a bad joke. And million dollar bails for the people arrested for these non-crimes ...a friggin scandal it should be, with those judges also hauled off and tossed behind bars. The whole thing is fvcking ridiculous.

200 few people are thinking this college bribery is a much bigger problem than 25 or 50 people

They could be finding a key to The System. Charles Ortel (someone turned my onto his series recently) picked one of the charities involved, in Sacramento, and in several hours before his show demonstrated from public records how typical and how blatant the fraud was, and how easy it was to spot. Yet, at every step, accountants and the IRS have signed off.

206 I found a bit online about how this whole college admissions scandal got kicked off - pretty amusing really, and indicative of how the biggest stories the FBI gets often aren't because of any genius thing they do, they just fall into their laps. Don't remember if it was linked here, but what happened was that the FBI was investigating some guy in New England for fraud and embezzling, that kind of thing, and he knew they had him nailed. So last year, he was trying to figure out how to stay out of jail, so he went to the FBI and said "hey, I know you got me on all this penny ante shit, and I'm a nobody, but if you want to take down a whole lot of people a whole lot bigger than me, I can tell you a whole lot of real interesting info, with names and dates and places!"

and it turns out that being a low life grifter, he actually was in on some of this going on at one of the schools. And so the FBI got interested in all of this really amazing stuff that just got handed to them, and they pulled on it just a little bit, like pulling on a string that sews up the bottom of a pinata, and suddenly a WHOLE bunch of stuff came pouring out!

and apparently the first couple of guys they went after immediately offered to plead guilty and turn states evidence on anybody else the FBI asked them to finger.

Given all that, it doesn't look like it took too much work to put the case together.

Posted by: ThePrimordialOrderedPair at March 14, 2019 06:38 PM (EQkWU) "

Actually, it is. But you can be pardoned (if I may use the word) for not realizing that the legal definitions of a lot of things have been gradually changed over time, so that a lot of things that you may have thought were legal can now be used to give you 10 years in Club Fed.

Mail Fraud is the Big One. Mail Fraud (which is always Federal) and it's sibling, Wire Fraud (basically any electronic communication) is defined as "Any Fraudulent Scheme to deprive another of property or *HONEST SERVICES* via mail or wire communications."

You can see that clearly, "Honest Services" is the Big Opening there. What does that mean?

There's a lot of case law, but generally in a corruption case, it means whatever a good Prosecutor can convince a Federal Jury that it means. And it means that if you did something hinky that deprived ANYONE ELSE in the world of something they might be entitled to, well the Feds can lock you up for 10 years, and they've got the entire weight of the US Judiciary behind them.

And now you're starting to realize "wow, this government really can pick up and imprison anyone they have a grudge against, and they can do it legally." Yep. They can.

260 Mail Fraud is the Big One.

Don't forget tax fraud.
In Lori's case? $400,000.00 to a fake charity and subsequent tax write off. ($200k for each kid)

I'm reading VDH's recent book, The Second World Wars. It's not action packed, more of an analysis, but, boy, he beats on Hitler and the Nazis, not for being evil, for being blatantly incompetent.

The mail fraud and wire fraud charges they're piling on are total bullshit. The whole case is crap. There were no real crimes committed. There was cheating. Big deal. It's not as if colleges admit based on merit, anyway. Colleges have already gone to courts numerous times to protect their right to ignore merit in their admissions processes (and still get federal and state funds).

Mail Fraud is the Big One. Mail Fraud (which is always Federal) and it's sibling, Wire Fraud (basically any electronic communication) is defined as "Any Fraudulent Scheme to deprive another of property or *HONEST SERVICES* via mail or wire communications."

We're talking about college admissions, here - the most dishonest, unearned, bullshit process that anyone would ever run into. Anyone who has ever sat on a university hiring committee (or admissions committee) knows full well that there is little more dishonest and despicable in the universe.

If I were on any jury dealing with these cases I would nullify the shit out of every charge and I would write an op-ed right after calling for the arrest and torture of the pieces of shit in the FBI and prosecution - every single one of them. They are scum. Abusing their positions. Trying to make cheating on some tests a federal crime. It isn't. Period.

Title IX. Now, that's a crime. A major crime. Affirmative action. Now that's a serious crime. Minority set-asides. Now, that's some really serious crime.

Cheating on the SATs ... not a crime.

That's a separate issue that has nothing to do with the raft of charges being leveled at these people. They are famous, rich people who have retarded kids who can't get into half-decent schools. Give them a friggin break. They cheated. Big whoop. Cheaters, not criminals. Get your priorities straight.

This reminds me of when Congress was grilling MLB players about steroids. That was another fvcking joke. Cheaters. Not criminals. Certainly not worth wasting time in Congress. So they tried to rope them into perjury. Assholes, the whole lot.
